that depends what i need to tank but i run them for atleast 5 impulses with everything running and that is with the 10% rechargers if i remember correct

You certainly won't be in webber range by the time your cap is dry when running a 10mn AB....

Iv yet to be impressed by any of the BC's, i bought the skill the first day exodus was released, and its still sitting there at lvl0. First 1 prophecy and 2 cyclones failed to kill me in a bs (1 left in a pod, the other 2 purchased new clones), then i killed a ferox in my maller while he had his friend in a taranis helping him.
From what i have seen, the brutix can deal an awful lot of damage, and take quite a bit too.
But tbh for the money i have yet to see a reason to waste skillpoints training for them, id rather train mining 5 or something else useful.

Brutix is hardly a ship for solo pvp its a blaster ship and is slower then any other ship so catching anything with a brut is imposseble .no this is a ship for a gang fleet of min 2 ships or for gate camping etc
i will never beleve i can catch anything that want to stay out of range from my brut the ones beliving they can i say goodluck. the brut is as slow as a pregnant cow 
This ship is a pure killer when i web range tho so for fleets its a must have i think and then a ab is more then enuff
and to answer the statement about 36 seconds that is hmm lets see over 700 hp times 5 = 3500 hp gives me about 6k armor before im dead and with 1 hardener or 2 even that isent bad at all now is it

i got wtf pwned in my by a thorax with web + mwd and 250 railguns who was shooting me at decent range and keeping me in that range with nosferatus etc...
Only negative thing i noticed about the brutix is its cap is gone waaaaaay to fast for my taste.

Hi:
4x Heavy Ions, 2x T2 Small Ions and 1x Nosferatu
Med:
T2 10MN AB, Webber, 2x Cap rechargers
Lo:
T2 Med Repairer, 2xactive hardners, 1xpassive nano, something of your liking
It works for me.

I love the brutix. fits fine, i got 5 ions and 2 neutrons(mixed because i through it together with what was laying around in my hanger) with plenty of cpu and grid, in fact i'm certain i can fit 7 t2 ions no prob. Cost me a whopin' 11 mil to get (rax cost me 6.5 i beleive at wholesale), and it has ripped everything that comes near me from belt spawns to my lvl3 qual 18 deadspace missions (most recently a 'silence the informent mission' that a corp mate's maller couldn't handle). I will admit it is slow in dead space though, but with 2 hardeners and 1 med rep i handled it no prob.

im in a brutix atm its a beast i love it. especially as a blasterix atm im using hislots- 1 heavy modal electron partical and 6 heavy electrons and 1 medium nos, med loslots - 2 fb10 nominal cap recharger ,10mn mwd and a x5 proto webbie loslots - med armor rep ,t2 magnetic dmg mod , 2 adaptive nano membranes and 1 explosive hardener ,2 orges ,2 wasps my cpu is 406 and powergrid is 1250 and i can handle multible npc cruiser spawns in losec without much trouble

Firstly, thr Brutix is one cool looking ship and is fun to fly. It looks better than the Domi and thrax.
In terms of set-ups.... Gallente = power grid gimped nation. All Gall ships struggle to fit the best gun set up. I have electronics 5, weps upgrades 5, engineering 5, the only other option is to get energy grid upgrades to 5 so i can use tech 2 RCUs to get more grid. This will gimp the set up anyhow using valuable slots just to get a decent pg to make use of all turret slots.

I think what it comes down to is that despite the relatively low skills you need to actually pilot a Brutix you really OUGHT to have high skills to fight it.
Much like these guys that are in the game for a couple of months and go Battleshipping around without nearly the skills required to make the equipment effective, the Brutix really ought not to be put into heavy combat before about 3.5M Skill Points min.
Once you have 3.5-4M skill points the grid problems become somewhat reduced...though I gotta say if the CPU was about +100 we wouldn't be having the Brutix vs Thorax conversation at all.

1 Medium t2 armor repairer, 2 hardners to match NPC damage, 2 cap relay

PVP config :
7 small named t2 pulses
1 MWD, scrambler, web, medium cap booster
1 Medium t2 armor repairer, 1 energized adaptave nano, 3 cap relays

Thorax = Anti-frigate (light guns for tracking, web)
Brutix = Anti Cruiser (dmg monster, tanking)
Both require uber skills to make good use of, its the trade off with gallente ships. The hybrid bonus means that DoT is sublime with the right skills for all classes.
With the right skills, the right setup and the right pilot, Gallente ships are a match for anything in their class. SUch could be said of any ship, its all a matter of preference.
Diplomatic bs aside, I'm a rabid gall fan and fly an anti frig Rax til i can afford and fly a Diemos. Dont matter what you hit that thing with, the resistances are so high it just bounces off.
