In another large thread concerning some good ideas and opinions, this question alone is worth a thread where everybody should be advised to answer this question in as short as possible.
The Goal
that long elusive concept in Eve. People spend more time arguing over their goals, or in particular what goal everybody else should have, than actually pursuing them.
It makes for great debate but every time the subject comes up, there is trolling about, mixed in with people trying to earnestly answer this question. It makes for grim threads.
So let's give the Devs the short answers.
What's your goal here?
Mine: to explore deep space.

This. I like some things better than others, but I've tried and enjoyed most of it at some point. There is a limit how long you can keep doing just one thing, so good variation of activities is appreciated.

For me personally that involved an ever increasing focus on blowing player owned stuff up. I went from 95% missioner to 5% missioner in about a year. Good thing is that the things I learned and gained while missioning and exploring suit me very well in pvp now; having access to many locator agents + being able to probe well, for instance.

This, pretty much. I've done a lot of Eve. Mining, missions (courier and kill and mining), been part of 2 large alliances in 0.0 as a miner and joiner of fleet fights, was a merc for a year, poked my nose into some of the low-ranked wormholes solo, and currently chilling up in empire (due to heavily restricted playtime...50-60 hrs. per week of work).
Currently I'm on a program of wealth acquisition - not for the sake of wealth itself, but in order to have a steady supply of ships to poke around in. Wormhole poking, maybe some lo-sec poking, might even go find a corp in nullsec to join once again. I'm sure somebody wouldn't mind a 92 mil SP vet (and still owned by the original player, even), if I can ever shake loose more free time again.

To become an international spy by reaching level 10 in the law enforcement field (special agent path). To max my Logic and Athletic skills to 10. Become a partner at the hospital in town and buy the house on the water that has a big pool.

To enjoy the time I spend playing the game. Some days that can be achieved just doing missions, whatever level. Some days scanning stuff down, some days going into lowsec and ratting, some days I get the urge to go mining and make some stuff with the minerals, even though I have no skills in that field. My goal is... just do whatever I feel like that particular day.

To enjoy different aspects of the game, mostly pvp related and to NOT be ****ed off or fekked over by bugs, features or broken gameplay. Would like to see something done about the huge blob fest powerblock thingy, where alliances have huge influence spheres and can hop/jump everywhere in seconds.

My goal is to NAP everyone within 50 jumps, the reason for this is because I am too scared to pvp and blobbing everyone is the way to go. Not to worry though I know if I am outnumbered (not likely) I will just force everyone into that system, now by default any enemy fleet entering that system will have a high chance of crashing making it really easy to attack them without them shooting back.
While I am not NAPing or node crashing I will be spamming pointless propaganda making sure everyone votes for me for <something> and in return I will happily manipulate them into believing everything we are blue with is a friend.
But the FUN doesnt end there, when people get so bored or banned from macro ratting in my systems I will do mandatory mining CTA's to replace titans which will resurrect randomly after death on the small chance that the node actually holds up.
But who am I kidding I think this has already been done

When I first started to play Eve, I wanted to create a low-sec market hub, acting as some low-sec smuggler lord.
Realizing how hard that is when low-sec is more or less depopulated, and most of it being close to a hi-sec market hub anyway (this was before I grasped the concept of freighter alts) I turned to piracy instead.
I really like the desolate feeling you get in some low-sec areas, though.

Complete self-sufficiency in pvp (as in, I can replace my ships myself with minimal pve and reprocessing, even if i get into an unlucky streak and get blown up a lot).
It's sort of a running theme with me, it's the MMO version of the "your character is not complete until he can be dumped naked into a warded, guarded dungeon and walk right out and regain his equipment despite DM opposition".
Side note: WTB the ability to build a PoS as an individual.

My goal now..is to wait around and see what becomes of eve...skill up and save isk.I dont really enjoy eve as is at the moment but I have 2 pretty old characters and Ill stick around for a few more expansions.Hey..im being honest.And as far as the devs wanting to know..the players want to know alot too..and dont get answers.
Bottom line is..I have faith in ccp.That they intend to make the perfect game like I was told when I started.And that they work hard at doing so.So dont take this post in the wrong way.Its not meant to troll..its my honest opinion.As far as "what would I change"..nothing that hasnt been said a thousand times in this forum..and has gone under without a single comment.

I want to make the best cinematic eve videos and machinima I possibly can. I've kind of always dreamed of being in the movie industry making Star Wars kind of space ship sequences. EVE is about as close as I can get to that career track.
I've been working on Deep SpaceOut, my attempt at true original eve machinima with avatars and ship interiors for many long months now. Slow progress, but I want to take my video making to the next level, and I can't do that with music videos or PvP videos (PvP isn't my thing anyway...I don't like the aggression a lot of people seem to have).
So yeah, I'm mainly playing EVE to make artwork at this point. 
But, creative efforts like this are things I take great pleasure in, so it's all good.
The actual gameplay of EVE can be excruciatingly boring. Missioning gets old, mining is mind-numbing, PI looks like it causes wrist injuries and as I said PvP has too many *ANGRY* people I don't want to associate with.
It kind of bums me to know that so many can only enjoy the game at the expense of someone else's enjoyment.

Once you have the models out with TriExporter, you can convert them just about any way you want. I use Blender and have imported a few into FBX format to use in XNA-based programs.
You just need to get the models into a project file for your favorite graphics program that can export into the file format that your chosen game/graphics engine needs.
(doing this without losing polygons and textures or keeping them where they started - THAT is the hard part).

overview overhaul so some dolt nap can't just warp 250 people in mining ships on grid making it impossible to pick primary
to see the "everyone is too rich" people get crushed under the "Soviet is too expensive " hoards.
for stations to have with only on direction to dock / undocl or have any direction dock / undock but not what we have now.
for t2 battle cruisers
more gates to known space
local replaced by constellation chat and some decent mechanic for gathering Intel on numbers in a system
cloaks for caps and covert ops only. anthong else can't fit them (90000 CPU please and 99.99% reduction for caps and covert ops)
RF timers to Max out at 12 hours
all this will come eventually and then we can worry about more mundane and less pressing issues.
ill be there for that too

well,after playing the game for over 7 years now and not far off 140 million sp,the only thing i haven't done is get my own titan,which i'm in the process of maxing out the gallente titan skill right now(10 days to go),so after that is achieved,i have no clue...
There's nothing bigger than a titan in game...
