Just wondering if there is anyone looking into the CYNO issue of ships deploying a cyno from inside the forcefield? Can the cloak effect of 2.5km not be implemented the same way as to dropping the cyno? Seems pretty silly to me that this issue has still not been addressed or fixed.

i dont think you can light the cyno from inside, you would need to bump the ship inside or the ship approaches the tower at full speed and lights the cyno on the edge and then slips in.
I think both count as exploiting and you can report the person.

google search for "cyno forcefield exploit" gave me this one in the first three hits:
http://wiki.eveonline.com/en/wiki/Exploit_Notifications#Cynosural_Field_activation_inside_forcefields
deploying a cyno from inside a FF is alredy classed as exploit.

CYNO issue of ships deploying a cyno from inside the forcefield.. . well is there a better way to make this game bad . Only one thing is more annoying (since noob who use exploits to defend a POS), and that's when they are laugh at u in the local when you tell them , that they can't do that in this game And i guess now i know whay they are laughing.. . If some one is interested about this .. here mine last 3 petitions about this axploit: . 2010.08.08 player: Lifeforce (Hun corp , Hun Reloaded aliance) Print Scrn Logs (when we tray to lock him) [ 2010.08.08 10:43:03 ] (notify) Warping to Cynosural Field I [ 2010.08.08 10:43:36 ] (notify) You failed to target Falcon, they are within range 15000.0 m of a Force Field and with you being outside of it, it is preventing you from holding a lock on them. . 2010.07.28 player: Pr3t0r (Hun corp , Hun Reloaded aliance) Print Scrn 08:28:59 Notify You failed to target Helios, they are within range 30000.0 m of a Force Field and with you being outside of it, it is preventing you from holding a lock on them. . 2010.09.09 player: Humor Harol (Hun corp , Hun Reloaded aliance) He opened cyno 2 times from forcefield (second time i lost ship just to get locking log for CCP) Print Scrn Logs [ 2010.09.09 18:29:22 ] (notify) You failed to target Anathema, they are within range 30000.0 m of a Force Field and with you being outside of it, it is preventing you from holding a lock on them. [ 2010.09.09 18:29:23 ] (notify) You failed to target Anathema, they are within range 30000.0 m of a Force Field and with you being outside of it, it is preventing you from holding a lock on them . Just check print scrns time in game and check log time (CCP can easy check is log time correct) . This are just mine petitions, more peoples sent petitions about some guys , some corp , some allince To be straight about this no one has ever seen them, to open CYNO outside forcefield . I just want to know how much real-time CCP need for this thing? (mine first petitions wass more then 1 mant ago) And what's more important what will happen at the end.. Or did some one got ban for this already? . And plz don't get me wrong i realy understand message that i get from CCP every time: "As we get quite a lot of reports like this, it can sometimes take some time until players are investigated, but I assure you that all cases do get handled appropriately. " I realy understand that they are busy and i realy don't expect to mach from this. I just hope CCP can at least send them an official warning about this (becouse we are tocking about one whole corp and aliance) In order to play the game until the petition is not resolved because the same thing happens every day . Because if nothing happens.. then I think that is fair .. everyone to know that it is possible to defend the POS with CYNO open from forcefield (just use some noob alt with industrial ships and enaph fuel to the next DT ) ps. sory if i did something wrong with this post ( i inform ccp in mine petitions that i will post this on forum )

Easy solution. If a cyno-ship bond is ever broken by a forcefield the spacial disturbance disrupts the shield generators stability causing the shield to fail.
Now all CCP has to do is add a check when cyno is opened on grid with tower. If ship is closer to tower than shield radius the shield is collapsed (as if the PW was never set.
That'll teach 'em!

The exploit is lighting the cyno inside a FF. That is not allowed.
Bumping the cyno ship inside a FF or using a ships momentum to your advantage is perfectly acceptable. Well maybe not acceptable but it has never been declared an exploit.

actually if you fly 500m/s and hit the cyno right before entering the FF you don't need to be bumped
cyno will be outside, you inside

Actually it is allowed... read the exploit text.

please quote that part that says drifting into the force field with a running cyno is allowed.

There have been some cases where players have been able to place a cynosural field inside their Starbase forcefield and thus gaining certain advantages for themselves and their cyno-jumping allies.
First sentence - having the cyno inside the forcefield is the exploit. In this case the cyno is not inside the forcefield, just the cyno ship.

which is definitely an intended game mechanic?

If it wasn't intended then I suspect that they'd give the Cyno module Mass and Inertia penalties such that the ship would stop DEAD in its' tracks the second the cyno was fired. My point here is the exploit text declares having the Cyno field inside the FF is an exploit. No mention of the cyno ship at all and if they didn't desire this mechanic they do actually have the tools to fix it.

The "inside FF" was declared an exploit prior to it being fixed, it is as far as I know no longer possible. But the risk averse 0.0 crowd are as devious as cartoon rascals. The coasting cyno was soon invented and cyno ships became immune .. then CCP frowned and set a hard limit for the speed of ship when popping cyno and all was well .. for a while. The rascals sat down and perfected the timing, and found that if you pop it just right the ship can juuuust make it inside FF .. and if you screw up the timing it can be bumped in.
Note that CCP has already tried sorting it so it is NOT a desired feature, you will probably feel the tenderizing warmth of the ban-hammer should you be reported repeatedly for it.
PS: They tried the complete stop thing when looking for solutions but ran into unforeseen issues if I recall so they settled on the speed limit.
Have another possible solution: - All capitals have substandard IFF modules so POS passwords must be entered each and every time. Corp/Alliance/Blue settings on POS does not apply for capitals. Result: Place cyno so close as to make ship invulnerable and watch your capitals bounce around like a fat kid in the high-school hallway.

1. Gliding into a POS shield is not an exploit.
I've petitioned it and asked as we used it in my alliance then were told that it was. So, I decided to ask.
The reason it's not an exploit is that the cyno itself still remains on the outside of the shield.
2. The other method of getting a cyno inside a POS forcefield is by waiting for the online timer to tick, lighting the cyno, then setting a passowrd to activate the shield.
I petitioned this also, this was also not deemed an exploit by the GM I spoke to.
Any other method of circumventing the forcefield by lighting a cyno while the forcefiled is active and you are inside it would be an exploit.
