We are currently investigating a possible issue with downloaded EVE client files for Macintosh users. There have been some reports of the file not mounting after download and a "verification failed" message being displayed.
If you are experiencing this issue, please file a technical petition and put ATTN: CCP Zirnitra in the subject line.
Please include the following in your petition: - The browser and version number you are using - The version of OS X you are using - Provide the IP you are being routed to for the download (e.g. from a netstat output). - Any other information you think may be of use
Thank you for assisting us with this matter.

I had the same problem from multiple Mac's. Then I switched to windows and downloaded the .dmg file and then there were no problems in mounting. I tried both safari and firefox in latest versions.

Edited by: Real Poison on 22/09/2010 07:17:53 @CCP Fallout:
one observation about the download that i made a while ago when i had this issue was the reported file size.
While i can't seem to reproduce it atm it seemed to me that somehow during the redirect (307 content moved) from "content.eveonline.com/..." to "cdn1.eveonline.com..." the file size was reported wrong. i've seen negative length of bytes reported in wget on the command line. While wget didn't seem to suffer much, browsers like Firefox and Safari did.
Just started a download in Firefox to see if i can reproduce it again., i will report any findings later.

Please, please will you set up a torrent for this file. I'm using Speed Download to download the file (so I can resume, etc.) and it just fails constantly. Downloaded previously using Chrome and it corrupted as described, wget worked ok, but that's hardly a good solution!
So frustrating...

downloaded from http://cdn1.eveonline.com/mac/eve-premium_004577_185699-mac.dmg md5sum: 117adea2f8eec973edaf7a0615dbd896 *eve-premium_004577_185699-mac.dmg copied to mac via USB Stick got error on opening dmg with finder: -4960
- Windows Firefox 3.6.10
downloaded from http://content.eveonline.com/mac/eve-premium_004577_185699-mac.dmg md5sum: 27116f7e8b18743e7147daa4eeae7d0c *eve-premium_004577_185699-mac.dmg copied to mac via USB Stick got error on opening dmg with finder: -4960
To make sure, that the file does not got changed because of moving with usb stick, I have md5ed the file after copying to my mac: $ md5 eve-premium_004577_185699-mac.dmg MD5 (eve-premium_004577_185699-mac.dmg) = 27116f7e8b18743e7147daa4eeae7d0c
May I ask why you are providing different images? You may find this funny, but I can assure it is not funny to download 2,95 GB just to see you have to do this again.
Currently I can't login because I'm not able to download a working client.
I have wasted approx. 6gb bandwidth for absolutly nothing. I think it is save to say, that your update process sucks hard.
