Here's the official announcement for those who are out of the loop.
Cry Havoc is going dormant at this time. Each corp can make its own decision about what they want to do moving forward. Thanks to all of you who joined us for the ride. We've done a damn good job of having fun and killing stuff without giving in to EVE's crappy push to simply become large as the solution to everything.
That being said, EVE just grew less and less compelling over time and I decided it was time to stop spending my time on it. I stepped down as active executor about 3 months ago and The Nova took over. EVE continued to be bad, more people stopped playing, and we ended up where we are now - too few motivated fun-makers to create an environment that makes for a good active alliance.
So CH as a serious entity will be closing its doors. ENH and MULTI will both be going low activity and staying within the alliance ticker. I believe TM is headed to join NC. HABIT is busy scooping people and heading to PL. INVT and SHADE are both deciding what their next step is, and ONION just kinda got screwed by showing up after we all had stopped playing. Sorry guys, not your fault.
Thanks to all who flew with us and blew up internet space pixels. Good luck to the folks still playing, and for those that are burned out I encourage you to come join us in other games (see Out-of-EVE).

Another once mighty alliance cracks under the inexorable pressure of the NC juggernaut.
Seriously though, sad to see the departure of a group who was willing to mix it up and play in their own style on their own terms. The game is poorer for it.
A good call to end it on a high note instead of allowing a moldering decline.
Good luck to those leaving the game, and see the rest of you in space.

Serious response:
Look forward to flying with or against your component Corps. When you close an alliance with as much history as CH seems to have, there will inevitably be pangs for 'the old days' and who knows, maybe Cry Havoc. will be back again someday to harass the spacelanes of EVE.
Speaking from the point of view as reds though, I'll be happy to see you gone.

Well, have fun CH, I mean, I couldn't see the fun either in hotdropping pirates with titans. Specially when you need to team up with gallente federation. 0.0 and PL is a better place for most of you because you perform there better. Anyway, we had hilarious moments with you :D and a good fights :) (somehow, I will miss you guys)

CH is one the few alliances that were always ready to start a fight and we had some awesome times back in the days. And I hope Shade. finds a nice place to fit into(wanna hint? ), I remember we've done some crazy stuff even behore they joined CH.

It was an amazing run. I was PVP'ing in ENH on my 3rd day of playing this game against a CVA gate camp in a rifter, over three years ago. Since then, everything I know about this game has come from my corpmates, and later, my alliance mates in CH. I am very grateful for the good fights and good friends I made during that time.
Special applause should be reserved for Mistress Suffering, who took the reigns of Einherjar Rising in EVE's heyday and transformed it from a bunch of random scrub frigate pilots into a corporation that would eventually form Cry Havoc. The respect from people all over EVE is a testament to his hard work in building ENH and CH.
It's sad to see CH go, but to be fair there weren't any better options on the table. Good luck to my fellow alliancemates on whatever future in EVE they pursue (and download League of Legends, FGTS, and come play with us).

I remember our corp cutting our teeth in Syndicate. We lived just 6 jumps from PF- and it seemed to matter what gang we ran we could count on Cry Havoc bringing a fleet to kill it. The titan drop on our 8 man hac gang was my fondest memory. CH knew how to play the game ( for fun ) and they earned a lot of respect over the years by friends and enemies alike. Fly safe.

IMO if PL had not lost fountain CH would have made there way to number 1 as more PL members grew fat and uninterested in eve.

My fondest CH memory will always be having a CH Titan (So'Kar) dropped on my carrier... I lost my carrier but we killed the Titan. It was a good day and I got a nice screencap of it.

Had a lot of fun with you guys back in syndicate during my notr days, both in gang and against each other. Although, that one time in great wildlands, the biggest blue balls in history when foundation had 6 carriers, 3 on each side of a gate, and your fc (cant remember who) wouldnt engage. That moment over 2 years ago led to this day. I saw it coming

I've never had more fun and built better relationships during my short time in EVE than with the great people and players in ENH and CH. Thank you to all those willing pilots that flew under my command and especially those logistics pilots that saw past the killmail whoring and flew ships that were needed, you guys were ****ing awesome. It's sad to see the alliance go, but the reaper has been knocking for some months now in the form of lower and lower activity levels, struggling to get a gang up to a functional size to fight our neighbours in the north. Apologies to Onion who moved up to fly with us after my proposal only to see everything come crumbling down weeks later - it wasn't your fault, if anything you probably extended the alliance's life for the time you were there.
Follow this link to a short video I made of a few of my final days as FC in CH. CHbyCF
1st fight was against the FCON/FA guys over a CH moon of some crappy moon in Athounon. This moon brought more fights than any R64.
2nd fight was us jumping in on FCON in D2 as they incapped mods on Viper's pos in D2.
3rd fight was with some of our northern brosefs against a mixed bag of NC and goons.
4th fight was a blobby capital hotdrop in Venal. State of Eve? Enjoy watching the Chimera tank our mums.
And one final time in CH:
"Open your broadcast settings, it's the little triangle in your fleet window. Now, if you're in a dps ship you want a checkmark in every box except 'Broadcast need armor, Broadcast need shields, Broadcast need capacitor'. If you're in a logistics you want a checkmark in every box except 'broadcast target'. K lets go."

I remember rocking up to fanfest 07 with a nametag that said Einherjar Rising, and nobody knew who we were....how times have changed! Its been great fun flying with all of CH (even if I too have been inactive the past couple of months) and I hope to see you in space when the mood takes me back out there.

I'm very sad to see CH as an entity die to pilot inactivity as opposed to any external force.
I've seen this coming for the last year or so as I watched our active pilot count decline and we made no significant efforts to bolster the ranks of existing corps or recruit entire new corps.
I want to give a big shout out and grand "thank you" to all of the people that continued to lead roams, lead Cry Havoc, generate "fun" and do all of the things that are necessary to maintain an alliance. Mistress, Carbon, Gaius, Hedliner, it was your activity and leadership that made it easy for the rest of us.

IÆm very sad to see CH go. It was an unusual if not unique alliance in Eve, at least in my experience. It had lots of competence without lots of internal politics and other such nonsense. We did all the fun things in Eve (IMO) and very little of BS. Most of all, MS was an outstanding leader. Honestly, being in CH was one of the things that kept me coming back to Eve in the past...now, well who knows.
Maybe it will rise from the asses somedayàI guess IÆll keep training just in case.
O7 to the entire fold in CH and all those who flew with us. This goes double for MS, for whom I have great respect.

I highly appreciate this, and I'm sure everyone in this thread does. No one wants to troll him from CH cause we've got better things to do and more appreciation for the game and it's players than to give this post the time of day.

That makes me nostalgic (and guess who was behind it :D)
Though I'm sad to see CH mothballed as an entity I'm pleased that we are doing the right thing at the right time. I'd rather see it close down near the peak than fade to a shadow of what it was. Thanks to my alliance mates for being awesome space buddies and thanks to all of the entities we fought on a regular basis for making eve the cool place it is.

The David versus Goliath motif is prevalent through history for the sole reason that we constantly find it fascinating: the little guy beating up on the big guy and holding his own. Cry Havoc was Eve's David, without a doubt.
I had the good fortune to fly with CH for the last six months, and I can honestly say that it was a great six months - even if I did catch them on the down-swing. CH was one of the most feared and respected alliance I've been in, and that's saying quite a bit. Unlike so many other spaceship entities, they earned respect. Not through numbers, allies, or posts - but instead through diligence and constant tactical excellence. They worked hard for everything they had: the quintessential scrapper as it were. Their tactics have left an indelible mark on the Eve community, even seeing entities like IT and NC attempt to mimic their style. Yes, Cry Havoc was truly a great entity.
While the Eve political landscape is worse today than it was yesterday, there is an upside to this story. Eve is dynamic, and I, for one, am excited to see what will come of these changes.
Note: While I generally feign over-the-top seriousposts as troll-bait, for this one I'm more sincere than not.

As others have said, this really is a sad day for eve. Seeing CH in action always amazed me, and after joining, my eyes were well and truly opened. The amount of work that went into gathering their intel, organising fleets, the fast formups, the ability to be anywhere, anytime. It was all down to hard work and almost military precision.
I miss the RRBS gangs, slugging it out against the odds. Sure, we'd take losses, but at least we'd have a crack before bailing out if it was a hopeless fight. That kind of attitude is almost lost in this supposed pvp game.
All the best to all CH members, i hope the brawling "lets just f**king fight" attitude spreads with you to your new homes. Thanks for the good times.

Motherships were bought by the pilot, depending on how deep the pockets of the alliance/corp was at the time of the purchase there might have been some financial backing. Hope that helps!

As many others have said from within CH, I'm amazed with the level of proper and respectful comments in this thread. Was expecting the usual "omfgloliknewitlol@fail" crap (even tho there are some that tries to start it).
One of the hardest things I've ever done in this game was to leave my first corp and join Shade. Luckily that brought me on the path to where we ended, in CH. At it's best we were among the best at what we did in this game. We've had tons of fun, lots of "ohsit" moments and lots of rage (some created by yours truly). In it's ups and downs there's a ton of good guys in here that I'm really sad to go. It's gotten to the point where it's more effort than expectations just to log in to this game now (this is mainly on you, CCP). I know several (read: many) people have cancelled their subscriptions now since CH is saying it's farewells as it's the only thing keeping us in game. I'm one of those people who might do it.
After that bit of rant thou, it's been an honor to be killed by our numerous foes while wearing my precious CH tag. I've come to respect almost every alliance in this game except a few who do nothing but talk trash then they die and talk more trash (that's just silly (and no, I don't talk about goonswarm, they're actually pretty cool brosefs)). But none more than this alliance in particular. I've created mess and i've done some good (well...) and not gotten kicked out

Had a Blast, was truly awe inspiring, the time in took for our 6 man Super Cap Guys to go from Offline to Ganking 3-4 Loney Pos Bashing Dreads in Less than a siege Cycle, and they seemed to be avalible 23/7.
Or Titan Bridging a 25 man Hac Fleet in even less time.
Totally elite players of the highest quality. With true master FC`s of hit and run tactics, to stem the tide of the blobs we faced.

It is sad to see any established alliance with a ton of old, experienced players pack it in. If any good can come from this, maybe this will be a wakeup call to CCP that pandering to the new players might not quite be the great marketing move that the CCP braintrust envisages.
Perhaps someday CCP may actually straighten out the game's problems enough to reverse this exodus of older players.

Well, sooner or later everything comes to an end and in this case it was indeed written in the stars for the last few months. Now that the moment has arrived i probably should feel sad about it but i don't and i think that is an indication of the quality of CH and its people. Whenever you look back at something you have lost and find yourself in a situation where the good memories outweight the tragedy of losing it you can be sure it was something extraordinary.
Thank you to everyone who has been a part of this and made it what it was, especially Mistress Suffering for being an outstanding leader. Your skills at dealing with all sorts of different real life characters in a very charismatic, direct but yet always friendly way while guiding the whole thing to success was quite inspiring to me personally. Also i would like to thank Nova for taking over when it was needed and doing a great job at it as well as all the other driving forces behind the scenes for extracting every last bit of fun humanly possible out of this unfortunately fairly flawed game. Last but not least my gratitutde goes to all the willing and unwilling Logi pilots that relentlessly supported me in the holy crusade of making the Guardian the top killer ship in EVE.
Furthermore i have to say, even though i don't care a lot about what people think in general, it is a nice change to see so many kind words in this thread and on SHC. Appreciated.

I flew with CH for about 5 months after Reaper joined them, and during that time I learned how really to do pvp in EVE. Great pilots, awesome fc's, not too much ego going on like there seems to be with some people in this game (u may fc but you fc Internet spaceships so chill out for goodness sake!!!).
Great times, wonderful fights and all because a few ppl like Mistress and co wanted their own fun and to make fun for others too. Much respect CH.

Been a great two years in CH after I left U'K. My first roams with CH opened my eyes to the level of professionalism that was expected and provided each and every fight. My thanks to Mistress Suffering, Paradoxex, Cuny, Carbon, Gaius, and others who led, fought, and (occasionally) died with us.

It was an honor fighting such an elite force, i remember getting owned by EINH gangs, and it was a blast to later on fight along and among you guys. I'm proud of having EINH as one of my ex employers for a whole year. Mistress, much respect and ill never forget you stood by me when i needed it.

CCP has made a load of bad decisions the last years and many vets have just stopped playing (myself included). I personally blame the lag monster and the way the game now awards the bigger blob with a win. Skill is just not really the deciding factor in a fight anymore. Well, it's been 7 fun years in this game. I know my wife is very happy about this, she may actually send flowers to CCP
Shame to see CH close but it was the natural thing since people stopped playing. Some of my best moments in Eve has been in ENH. Thanks a lot guys.

Got to agree with Mangold and MS, i find myself in the same place, burned. Its really sad for me TBH since i used to love this game so much, but its so boring now, i dont even feel like logging in. I assembled all my items in one location to sell them, keep my 3 accounts dormant with enough isk to comeback if eve becomes interesting again. The best part of eve has always been small warfare, yet CCP has always continued to push the game towards huge fleet engagements, when its known by everyone that the server just cant take them. Its sad times when the old guard just keep turning their backs in a game they used to love so much. I do hope that one day this game will become interesting again.

Cry Havoc are some good fighters, ENH I've had a long history, way back to when ENH was roaming providence.
It's a shame to see a good alliance close down, but eventually the things that made us love eve lose their luster, we all will have that time.

this pretty much sums it up I have also been playing over 5 years myself and I keep trying to come back and I just find myself having a hardtime playing anymore for extended periods of time. More often than not when I come online all we do is talk about "the good ole days". GL CH

My 3+ years in ENH have been an absolute ball. Thanks to all of the players in CH (past and present) that shared this experience with me. I too have become somewhat frustrated in the path this game has taken. Hopefully CCP do something that will rekindle interest.
Thanks to MS for his organisation and leadership. Without him and the other dedicated leaders we would never have had the success and infamy that we achieved.

Same for me Soldur. I just seem to have lost all interest in this game. Small scale pvp is pretty much dead. I don't have time to stay on for the 3-5 hour CTA's that come with major alliances. I can't be bothered to go roaming to find something to kill either. This game was great when I actually had a lot of time to waste. Now I just value my free time too much to fly internet spaceships. I think I as a casual gamer am pretty much S.O.L'd. Cry Havoc I always considerd the dominant presence in syndicate. This truly is a shame. Here is to a great alliance!

Though I've had an incredible time in CH and Invicta. the past 8 months, EVE has slowly become less and less enjoyable and exciting to me over the past few months. This along with the loss of a great family and group to fly with is a major reason why I may quit eve after 6 years of playing.
I want to thank Invicta. and CH for putting up with me. I have had some remarkable pvp experiences with you guys. It was a blast while it lasted. I was only in one other corp before Invicta., and though leaving them was one of the hardest decisions in EVE, I'm glad I did.
I'd also like to say that Mummbi, Jozana/Ech, Deja, and Mistress are seriously ridiculously good at this game. Their knowledge and awareness in the game surpassed what I thought was possible.

Yep, time for me to call it quits too, no use making a new thread.
CH was the last stop in a slowly narrowing road, the game in it's current form is just unacceptable.
Special mentions to Cry Havoc, Quam Singulari, members of "The Jolly Roger" ingame channel, and the eve player community.
Thanks to the original visionaries behind Eve online and the hard work that went into keeping this game good for so long. Hopefully someday you'll see to correct some of the things that have made this game poor.

An exciting and enjoyable game EvE once was.
The feelings expressed here and in similar threads long forgotten are among some of EvE's older players most respectfull and faithful subscribers.
Friendships once forged only to be ended by lack of vision from the game developers,your mistakes reflected in a game beyond repair unless perhaps some fresh blood needed among your staff CCP .
If the older subscribers are not attracted to your game,I imagine what the new subscribers might see or how long they need to notice the current reality and state of your once precious game.
As for myself and many others I haven't logged on much lately,some of my accounts expired with this last one expiring soon.Haven't played for quite some time and just found out for the last few days some of your mid slot modules don't activate,4 other ppl shared the same concern while engaging in PvP in systems not much populated,what's new...no I shall not help you test a game because we left Beta testing many years ago!
The list of friends who have left EvE have increased,the reasons the same or similar.
Congratulations for your latest patches or whatever you do now to spend your time CCP.
To the players leaving or that have left EvE for other games, I salute you It's been a honour and pleasure to play with or vs you.
