No, I wouldn't waste a single cent on Pakistan. Not like they would help anyone else?
well that was a bit over the top.
i feel very bad what has happened over there but then again i wont donate for the simple reson that even if you donate most of the time the money never ever gets where it should be at.
to many of it are spend to pay directors and managers snd logistics so in the end there is just less then a penny left to help the people.
if you look in the case of the tsunami.... that money has still not been given to the people who need it(ive seen a lot of docu's on dutch tv just about this.)
its a shame but in the world today it seems everyone is taking a piece of the money pie and leave the people in need with still nothing.
but then again if people want to donate i still solute you for doing so. Jack of all trades, master of none...

...how exactly do you think aid works? it's not "too bad about your house mate, bad luck. Here's a hundred quid as our way of showing support". If you hand people in crisis a wad of cash and tell them to put it to good use, most civilians wouldn't know what "good use" is - they'd budget part of it away on cigarettes and alcohol. That's true everywhere in the world, not just in developing nation disaster zones. Just handing them money is useless if there's no way for them to buy what they need.
so what you instead do is spend that same money on a few shipping containers full of these, and on logistics costs to get clothing, food, medicine, shelter and volunteers out to the area. Those things do more good, more cost-effectively.
You say that the money's being spent on logistics as if it's a bad thing, when 95% or more of humanitarian aid is logistics.
oh, and in case you think I'm being stingy with the hundred pounds example - bear in mind that we are talking about millions of households here, and even the most successful charity drives aren't going to pull together hundreds of millions of pounds. the actual budget per-person in a disaster area is much, MUCH lower than that.
well i can understand logistics cost money but again there have been a lot of research done here in the netherlands and it pretty much shows that almost nothing of the help comes to the people that need it.. and even if the help gets to the destination it will be ripped off by local goverments/warlords/gangs.
so even if you find a respectable aid organisation it still wont do much when when the goods are send of to places filled with corruption(goverments) and gangs that will just take the stuff and sell it to make some cash.

ow well i can understand the mods removing my last post...how true it was..
anyway the last thing i will say in this topic is that CCP souldnt be doing these kind of thing as you be opening pandora's box.
i dont see blizzard doing this and im sure for this reson.
CCP as comany is free to donate whatever they feel with any profit they make and people who wants to donate would do so on their own.(many of us play mmo's to escape from RL worries and dont wanna deal with this in a game.)
the world has te many problems (and im sure more will come)
my advice is for next time leave pandoa's box closed... Jack of all trades, master of none...
