WTA û 73.5m SP PvP Character û No Lottery :-(
CCP wonÆt let me give him away using a lottery system so I need some ideas on how to do it randomly. I donÆt want the recipient to have the character banned for not following some silly rules.
IÆll start the bid at 1 ISK with a 1 ISK bid increment to get the ball rolling.
Post your ideas that donÆt involve me having to pick a person. I want it to be random and fair. Perhaps it could coincide with an auction for a module or something that would allow a lottery. Like a civilian afterburner :-)
Positive Wallet Positive Security Status Five Kill Rights NPC Corp in 14 Hours
Opening Bid: 1 ISK Bid Increment: 1 ISK No Reserve No Buyout Auction Ends: Saturday, September 19, 2010 at 23:59 Eve Time.
This character will receive the ISK from the auction. I will pay the $20.00 transfer fee per CCP rulesà

Bloody woman.
Can you post a link to your wifeÆs skill sheet?

Originally by: William Pierce Also, you may have luck petitioning the other thread. The spirit of that rule is to prevent raffles/lottos, not giveways (at least in my estimation). I don't see how your thread was harmful to anyone or anything.
I have a theory about this. CCP is only looking out for their financial interests, not player protection. They would rather have me sell the character for as much as possible in hopes that the buyer would purchase GTCÆs from them (therefore padding their pockets).
High bid stands at 15 ISK.

How did I miss not having a link to his skills?
Also, I can answer emails and offers with my phone at sharton dot eve at gmail dot com much easier and while I'm on the go.
You can also share pictures or funny stories there that you may not want to post here.
High bid stands at 20 ISK.

The bid increment has to be, ôat leastö 1 ISK. The whole idea is to keep the auction active in order to bring in fresh ideas. IÆm sure thereÆs a fair way to give as many people as possible an opportunity to win this character. I only hope that CCP will choose player benefit over their greed. If they interfere again we have our answer.

I like the slinky idea.
By the way, if you get outbid youÆre allowed to place another bid, just like any other auction. I donÆt think itÆs gotten too steep.

I have no problem with people raising their bid. I would ask that you post your new bid instead of editing your previous post. This thread has gotten long enough to make going back over it to check for edits a bit tedious.
Thanks for all your bids and input so far.

I have a conundrum:
Do I consider bids based on their monetary value or do I stick with the plan?
My intentions are offset by the shift of momentum. I didnÆt expect people to deviate from the 1 ISK bidding system I had established. Nor did I expect CCP to tell me that I couldnÆt give him away with my first post.
Just some thoughts that IÆm having, constructive feedback is welcome.

Simply take the names that have posted on this thread give them a number and use chribba's dice roll,
that way its not a lottery nor a sale, as you are taking no isk and simply using a randomly generated winner of a free prize.
In order for that to work IÆd have to let this run its course and also include the names from my first post. Worth considering but more work than IÆd like.

Originally by: Djeedjee Beckhally It is very simple. I am a random person (please try to prove otherwise), so I meet this criteria. You didn't pick me, I picked myself, this is your second criteria. I bid 1m ISK and I am above all other bids (if this was ever a criteria). Since I am the first person to meet all these requirements, I am the winner. Q.E.D. Please contact me in game to tell you the account name to transfer to. Fly safe, till you transfer.

There's a bid for 20b I do believe :-)
LetÆs get some more serious ideas on how I can ôrandomlyö and ôfairlyö give him to someone without violating CCP rules.

Originally by: WaringAndWhoring Personally I think you need to man up and pick someone rather than acting like a woman who cant make up their own mind waiting for someone to make the decision for them. Nothing is stopping you from picking someone and ccp can't tell you who you can/can't send the toon to weather isk is involved or not, its your choice ultimately.
Personally I think this thread fails just like your other and you are not really serious about getting rid of the character or you would have picked someone or asked for a real isk value of the character. So either just pick someone else or me and get it over with. Beyond that I think your threads should be locked.
Originally by: WaringAndWhoring I have been inventing for about 6 months and I am constantly getting this bug where the base item is not recognized. I sometimes have to fly back and forth from the pos lab to the station 5+ just to get it to recognize the the base item. To the trolls Yes I have the right item for what I'm inventing. How do I know, cuz I actually get it to recognize and install with the base item eventually.
Does anyone else have this problem? or am I doing something wrong, such as some sort of hidden cool down I am unaware of? Drives my mad to the point I wish I could self destruct my pos.
You have some serious issuesà

Originally by: Djeedjee Beckhally That could be, I certainly did not read 4 pages of random forum crap, and I am the only one that meets your criteria so I am the highest bidder even with 1M ISK. The rest are just excuses by you for not picking me. Do you have something personal against me? Otherwise I see no fair reason.
YouÆre on my, ôDo Not Give Sharton Toö list because youÆre not very nice.

Ok, the auction idea wonÆt work. As far as me picking the person, what shall I base my choice upon? I donÆt know any of you personally and we all know that the World Wide Web is full of people pretending to be something that theyÆre not. That being said, I insist on the method being completely random and completely unbiased.

I propose a vote.
1.Sell the character and give proceeds to charity. 2.Create a list by number and have a drawing.
Please put ôSellö or ôGive Awayö in your post.
Please limit your vote to one per person.
IÆll leave the voting open for exactly 24 hours.
If at anytime someone offers me 25b I will close the auction immediately and sell him.

Originally by: Captis I am a big fat crybaby.
I did not misrepresent my lottery in any way. The whole idea was for people to buy 1 ticket for 10m. If you thought that buying all the tickets would give you a better chance at receiving my character, you were sadly mistaken. I said from the beginning that I wanted it to be fair to everyone. How is having 87% of the ballets fair? As a conciliation I have set another contract up for you in the amount of 185m. With the other contract that you have already accepted for 685m the total comes to 870m. That makes us even. Please find a rock to crawl under and stop bothering me. The only thing that youÆve been right about so far is that your money means nothing to me.
Contracts for refund can be found HERE or simply by looking at my contracts.

Originally by: Nightmare incarnate Shar, can i ask if your going to do another lottery at some later stage? i am still interested in the character, and i rather liked the idea of the ticket's for item thing you had going on.. :) and ive probably posted in this thread just as much as you :p hehe. but no, im still interested in hearing if your going to be doing another lottery and such.
IÆm going to carry the discussion here where CCP cannot edit, alter or delete it.

Originally by: Sharton There is no limit to the number of tickets you purchase.
Originally by: Captis Either way, i have received all my isk back and as such have removed what i said previously. I will bother you no more.
Yes, but I said that with the understanding that anyone online could purchase tickets. I didnÆt intend for anyone to interpret that as, ôBuy more tickets and increase your chance of getting my toonö.
What I think you fail to realize is that you could have lost the lottery (13%) and would have been out 870m. DonÆt you think I deserve a little more credit for trying to work with you and not just telling you to pi$$ off?
After paying 50m for someone to 3rd Party Secure it, 10m for a free ticket, and the 870m refunded to you I ended up with a whopping 70m ISK profit (less than that if you count all the contract fees). Not to mention the fact that I havenÆt gotten my 750m collateral back yet.
I shouldnÆt have to tell you this, but it certainly wasnÆt worth the headache.
