WTA û 73.5m SP PvP Character û No Lottery :-(
CCP wonÆt let me give him away using a lottery system so I need some ideas on how to do it randomly. I donÆt want the recipient to have the character banned for not following some silly rules.
IÆll start the bid at 1 ISK with a 1 ISK bid increment to get the ball rolling.
Post your ideas that donÆt involve me having to pick a person. I want it to be random and fair. Perhaps it could coincide with an auction for a module or something that would allow a lottery. Like a civilian afterburner :-)

D: Noez! fine, Fear my 2isk bid :p not sure why CCP would be against it tho, its kinda crazy i mean.. i could understand if you was selling the ticket's, but they was free :( maybe its because its a televised event? could always do a race or something, tho, not sure if that would work either. hmm.. i'll keep thinking on it Sharton :) im bound to find something for ya to be able to give the character away.

Well you could go to some random high sec location, look at some item on the market that isn't available around, which isn't costly at all, and say the first one to open a trade window with you with that specific item, get the toon?
I don't see how this could violate those rules.

14 isk, i agree with ^---- because, the following rules was not broken - 1. you was not selling ticket's, you was giving them away, 2. you wasnt lottoing a character away by profiteering off ticket's. 3. anyone could see the result's of that lotto, due to it being televised. :)

I have a theory about this. CCP is only looking out for their financial interests, not player protection. They would rather have me sell the character for as much as possible in hopes that the buyer would purchase GTCÆs from them (therefore padding their pockets).

i think you should give the petition a try.
Meanwhile you could have this post running, getting good ideas for how to give away your toon, or you could simply in case you get a no from CCP give the char away to whomever is the higher bidder.
If you want to use an idea, perhaps you could give some info about which kind of person you would like to have the greatest chances of winning.

Damn, I can only dream of a 73.5m SP PvP character. I'm at 3.8m myself atm, almost able to fly a t2 fitted cruiser^_^.

25 or 49 isk bid + that epic civilian afterburner,(depending which is the real price), nice char you got there. maybe you could auction your toon by setting the maximum bitting limit(like buyout) in example like 50 mil isks worth of items + 1 isk, and the bid should include in example 5 different items. bidder could use one item only one time. and when the auction ends you would check which bid was the closest for that predetermined limit like I mentioned before (in example) 50 mil. The random event brings in by wonderful eve market where items values change every day. so you would check bids(items worth) based by average price and calculate their prices by using addition. It would need some work from you but I think it could be used the way you wanted :) If i'm wrong pls anyone correct me.

the only thing they interfered on was the lottery thing, tho i did read the rules on the "rule thread" and there is a thing there that said no lottery, tho.. technically you wasnt doing 1. you was giving out free number's to a "nuetral" even where the winning number got the toon. *shrugs* 61 isk btw :p

Sticky notes and this or the cheaper version.. Sticky Hand
Pick out the names you like and put them on sticky notes and stick 'em to your pet. Preferably a fat cat or dog.. I wouldn't go smaller than a guinea pig for fear of injuring the poor thing. Next, startle them and when they are attempting to get away, use the sticky hand to sticky your way to get one of the sticky notes..
Note... No animal should be harmed while performing this.

Do I consider bids based on their monetary value or do I stick with the plan?
My intentions are offset by the shift of momentum. I didnÆt expect people to deviate from the 1 ISK bidding system I had established. Nor did I expect CCP to tell me that I couldnÆt give him away with my first post.

With both Nagging and Moaning to Lvl 5 she can start training Advanced Irratating Dialogue and Enhanced Nuptual Bonding Countermeasures, you better watch out.

70isk I don't think it's going to go further then locking the post.
I am new to the game and can only dream to get a char this high.
So to me this is one of the few times someone like me (noob) can get a char like this.
But you don't want to give it to someone that is going to quit after a month.
So why not do this. Let only new people try for it. Say people with under 3mill sp.
Have them send a screen shot of there account and there skill points.
Also have a small test for them. Just email it to the people that can do it.
That way you know that they put in the time to at leasts understand the game to the point they can play the toon. Anyone under 3mill that took the time to read and understand the game put a lot of time into looking into it. So odds are they are not going to quit anytime soon.
That being said....

how about doing a random contract
announce that xxx oclock (or when this acution finishes) that your toon will release a random contract for a random amount... and the person that finds it, buys the toon their last bid amount.
so you release a contract on sunday at 2359 for say 100 trit first person to buy it gets option to buy the toon

Personally I think you need to man up and pick someone rather than acting like a woman who cant make up their own mind waiting for someone to make the decision for them. Nothing is stopping you from picking someone and ccp can't tell you who you can/can't send the toon to weather isk is involved or not, its your choice ultimately.
Personally I think this thread fails just like your other and you are not really serious about getting rid of the character or you would have picked someone or asked for a real isk value of the character. So either just pick someone else or me and get it over with. Beyond that I think your threads should be locked.

That could be, I certainly did not read 4 pages of random forum crap, and I am the only one that meets your criteria so I am the highest bidder even with 1M ISK.The rest are just excuses by you for not picking me.If this will be the case, I will take it personal.

I have many issues, mostly with ccp and bugs that I seem to bump into a lot. You see how you feel spying on a wh pos where you warp to it and end up landing in the bubble and then being stuck inside it. That equals epic fail spy right there, or have your aggression timer run out after killing some people in low sec then jumping back to high sec and minutes later while you sit in space the gallente police spawn and aggress me endlessly. Even after docking and and waiting for the timer to end. Then undocking and having the timer start again and police attack me again. I had to find a WH to hide in for a while to make the timer stop from starting again. Then yes the Invention crap drives me mad as well.

Use one of those random number generators to pick a number between 1 and 10,000 and whoever's bid was closest wins.
In case of a tie repeat until one bidder remains.

You can just hold a lottery for the character. You can't do it in this section of the forum cause of the character bazaar rules but the rules of the Sell Orders section specifically allow for it. If you read Rule #1 and the note at the bottom the sell rules over there are specifically extended to characters. You simply need to relocate your thread and you can do the lottery you originally wanted. Just sell lottery tickets for 1 isk each (or whatever you decide is fair).
Lottery in sell orders = fair and random and not in violation of any CCP rules
So I win? If not I bid highest bid + 1 unit of eternal gratitude!

im pretty sure you could get around this no sell a char in a raffle by selling your char for say no more than 100isk. and adding that you have right to refuse any bid.
Dont mention anything to do with a raffle, then just once your deadline for auction is over or you have say 100 bidders you either chose a winner at random or just somebody you liked. then sell them the char for that amount of isk they bid, that way you have just made a sale rather than a raffle and will be following all sale rules etc.
oh and 91 isk bid ;p.

And it will immediately remove me from the running since I can't match the capital, but how about a regular auction....but you take the funds as and then immediately donate said funds for the PLEX for Good. You maintain your altruism, some one willing to pay for the character gets the actual value of the character, and a worthy cause is supported.
I don't know why I'm suggesting this since I cannot honestly afford this character. But presuming that your are transferring your character to try and quit the game permanently and not have your effort go to waste, then I think this is a great way of going out with a bang.
Or you could just give him to me, and I promise to be a good person and donate a PLEX whenever I can grind out the ISK. >.<

well, there's been a few random idea's that would work, im still Loling at the slinky idea, but the chribba diceroll could be utilised with say.. selling a ship or something. not entirely sure if it'd work with the character "going" with the ship as its pilot. but it could work. as for getting to know people.. well.. damn.. lol. yeah, that will take a fair while since how many post's there are. and as you said, anyone can be anything on the World Wide Web's. still think CCP blew up over nothing regarding your idea. oh and with the slinky idea, you would probably need to do it a few times due to the amount of people that have posted, unless you have like.. 80 stairs in your staircase :p

He was probably trying to prove that you will not be able have a completely random/unbiased lottery by effectively creating negative bias with his aggresive attitude

I'd say just give the toon to some random guy, if that at all is your intention.
This post is kindda taking one of the first page spots away from those of us who are trying to sell our toons.
Wether this is a genuine give away or some **** with no sense of humor, be so kind to not make this go on for too long.
It's not that hard to take some random dude, take a D&D 100 side dice(or if there are more then 100, do a 1-xxxx roll), and gogo throw it as far as the eye can see, and there's the person who posted whichever post number the dice ends up on declared a winner.

I vote for "Give away". Why? This could give the opportunity for people to be able to enjoy the game with a great toon they can not afford. Somone who has the isk to buy probably already has a decent toon in Eve and might have lesser use/enjoyment for it.

if you are going to play after gettin rid of your toon and is going to need the isk then sell it , i think 23b is the highest offer so that would put me about 22.85 bil to short but thats life.
or
you could give him away ( respect to you. thats years of dedication . good on you ) but give it to the person that will need it most or has the best post. make sure they have a bid on your thread so its not brakeing ccp rules.

as been sayed in the thread. you could sell for max price the donate the plexes to help ppl in the world . thats a very noble thing to do and im sure that everyone will resect that and dont make a fuss about it , if you do do that.
anyway your going to like this bit this is my acting like a dog at the dinner table begging for scraps .
i REALLY could use this charater it would let me enjoy the game more instead of being stuck with this crap low sp toon. and ( as once sayed in the film full metal jacket ) I LOVE YOU LONG TIME !!

My 2 cents:
1. No programming based ramdomizer, is just that. All are apparantly random, but follow patterns.
2. Since lottery isnt an option according to CCP, I suggest you use the same tool that most of lifes important decisions are based upon:
---- Your Gut feeling ----
Marriages are made, corporations run, children raised, educational direction chosen, heck even wars are started or ended, based upon "gut feeling".

Ok if you have it back up for sale, and you would still like to be generous to the community at large, I think you could use the proceeds of the sale to purchase PLEX, and you could have a lottery or random giveaway and donate the PLEX to thread participants.
You could also just give all the PLEX to the PLEX for Pakistan scheme.
If you dont sell it, I think that having a random thread roll and just giving the account to that person is probably the simplest option.
Whichever option you choose, I must say its been good to have something diverting to follow for the last few days, so thank you for that. Good luck :)

I wish I could say i thought he had any honorable intentions. He has gone back through and edited out almost every comment he has made trying to cover up something. He tried to raffle a carrier for 2.5 billion (250 tickets) and alluded that person who got carrier would get his toon, although he never did directly say it. When he raffled off a carrier the second time (100 tickets) he posted you could buy as many tickets as you wanted. I bought remaining tickets at 870mil. I of course won the raffle and got a 700 mil carrier.... I wouldn't say that he scammed me just used my desire for a better main to his advantage. I lost almost 200 mil which I am the sucker for, I just want to make sure that nobody else who might be thinking as I did get taking advantage of. If you are going to buy into any of Sharton's little "ventures" as he trying to give away his toon that you do so with the full expectation that you will only be getting what he is selling.
As an interesting note, he sent me an eve mail stating he would send me back the 185 mil difference from the lottery because money means nothing to him now that he is leaving if I would edit out the post about me calling out what he is doing. I said sure, but just asked that he take the leap of faith that I would do that since i had taken the first leap with my 870 mil. He replied that I was playing games and would just let subscription to Sharton lapse and has not responded. No isk was sent so I will consider my 185 mil loss as a lesson learned., which i am fine with. I have screenshots of the evemails and links to posts just not really sure how much people really care of how much effort I would want to put into it.
Like I said as long as i can keep anyone else from allowing Sharton to manipulate them with his supposed giving away his main then the 185mil is just a further reminder to the saying a sucker born every minute right?

Yes, but I said that with the understanding that anyone online could purchase tickets. I didnÆt intend for anyone to interpret that as, ôBuy more tickets and increase your chance of getting my toonö.
What I think you fail to realize is that you could have lost the lottery (13%) and would have been out 870m. DonÆt you think I deserve a little more credit for trying to work with you and not just telling you to pi$$ off?
After paying 50m for someone to 3rd Party Secure it, 10m for a free ticket, and the 870m refunded to you I ended up with a whopping 70m ISK profit (less than that if you count all the contract fees). Not to mention the fact that I havenÆt gotten my 750m collateral back yet.
I shouldnÆt have to tell you this, but it certainly wasnÆt worth the headache.
