If you don't know already you can now resize your eve clients instead of a limited options. I think this is great for people with multiple monitors but a pain for people with one who runs multiple accounts and even more annoying when you have windows 7 =). Im just asking if this does come a feature, can we also get a button to disable this?

For free-scaling windows it resizes them when you move window to the edge of the screen, just as most obvious example.

Ok, so i run multiple accounts on window mode @ 1024x768 on a 1400x900 monitor. Now the problem is that im also running windows 7 so when i move the two clients around somtimes windows 7 expands them too my full screen size. So im wondering if you can implment a button to disable to the resize. Also when i resize the client back to 1024x768 my overview etc is not visable due, so i then have to expand it agian and move my overveiw etc.

alternatively, you could disable aero snap. http://www.askvg.com/how-to-disable-aero-snap-in-windows-7/

i dont like the fact that when i try to "full screen" the windowed client it still leaves the frame around the top and i can't manually stretch my sisi client bigger to allow my 3rd party programs to 'full screen' them, not sure if this is anythign you'll be able to do or if evemon will need a reworking of its screen relocator.
As it stands running a single client in window mode, you lose screen size.
my monitor is 1280 x 1024 and the max screen size for eve that i can get is 1266x999.
hope this helps

Windows XP user here. The problem I have is that my desktop is 1360x768 and this new Sisi build goes *underneath* my taskbar in windowed mode. The current Tranquility build, like all EVE clients for as long as I can remember when in windowed mode goes over the taskbar happily. Since 768 is the smallest the Sisi client can be shrunk its permanantly stuck under the bar and any miniturised EVE-windows are lost forever. I can't make my desktop any deeper on my monitor without making it unreadable so I'm stuck that I can either play EVE fullscreened slowing down navigation and alt-tabbing or I can lose the bottom pixels.
inb4 "Set your taskbar to auto-hide or something," thats a workaround to an issue that didn't used to exist.

Is there going to be an option to "lock" the window size to prevent you accidently resizing?

Are there any command line options for setting windowed mode resolution? The client does not store the resolution on my system and always starts with 1024x768, quite annoying. --

Then you aren't trying hard enough.
Anyway, if you have a program that allow you to assign arbitraty actions to hotkeys, here's the solution: http://www.rootdir.org/.offload/hotkeyHelper-2010-09-17.rar
My favorite:
*Hotkey WIN+CTRL VK_Left !Execute ["hotkeyHelper.exe" center 0 0 4] *Hotkey WIN+CTRL+SHIFT VK_Left !Execute ["hotkeyHelper.exe" fill 0] *Hotkey WIN+CTRL VK_Right !Execute ["hotkeyHelper.exe" center 1] *Hotkey WIN+CTRL+SHIFT VK_Right !Execute ["hotkeyHelper.exe" fill 1] -- Thanks CCP for cu |

tonto thanks for taking the time to help, but i wont be using hotkeys as i dont consider this that big an issue to warrent me coding somethign to "fix" it, i found it mildy annoying that my old process didn't work but im happy to let W7 aero do the auto maximizing. I only posted to give ccp some feedback on my experiance.
I do like the idea of a check box to fix the res to that of my main monitor.

What are the limits in client screen size now? Would it stay be possible to have windowed clients running at 1280x1600 or even 1600x2560?
Is 1024x768 still the minimum size? Would have been sweet to have clients running at 800x2560 for massive overviews/local.

Move a window to the top or sides of the screen if you're running an aero theme.
That's what happens.
Which you can disable tho.

CCP devs,
any chance to get "offset screen center up-down" too? Would rock when moving locked-targets above neocom dial and want to get the view center bit higher.

I love the idea - but when I span the game across my screens, my ship shows as split in half by the bezel on my monitors.
I don't suppose there is any way to permanently change the focus point of the camera? So my ship would show up on one screen, and there would just be extra space off to the right?

um... well... The resize function is somewhat nice, but I'm experiencing some issues with this.
The first thing that caught my attention is the fact that when running eve in windowed mode at max resolution (same resolution as the screen), the window seems to automaticaly resize itself to make room for the task bar, regardless of the resolution you have set it to run at. This is an issue, cause I like eve to cover the taskbar when it's the active window (like the past and current TQ clients does). Ofcourse it is possible to set the task bar to auto hide, but that is not really a solution, as it will pop up again if I move the cursor to the bottom of the screen (where the tabs for minimized in-game windows are).
I normaly run 2 or more eve clients simultaneously, having one on my priamry screen and the others on my secondary (wich is smaller). To make eve look it's best, I use Zeonelle's EVEWindowFrameRemover tool that removes the frames and makes the clients run as if they were in full screen mode (and not just reposition the window to hide the frames off screen, like for example EveHQ does), but now that the client seems to automatically change window size based on "available" screen area, the tool no longer works.
So, as helpfull as the resize function is to some, I hope there will be an option to turn it off, and have the client launch and run in the resolution you have previously set it to run.
The current state of the SISI client, regarding the window resizing, is really an annoyance and it ruins some of the gaming experience

Love the new resize, so here are the issues I'm having with it:
First of all, for my specs, I have 2 nVidia GTS 250 cards and 3 24" monitors with a Quad Core (not i7). Windows 7. My cards are NOT running in SLI mode.
My framerate is a steady 60fps in windowed mode, until I increase the size larger than a window. Then it is only 16 fps. I realize that my pc is now pushing a larger amount of graphics, etc, but even if I reduce my settings all to low I'm getting 16fps. I would like a box that I can put in a custom size - and it would be great to put a button in Eve to remove and "maximize" the window border, like EveMon does currently.
My second issue is with wrapping around the screens. I hope you can create a graphical user interface that represents your monitors, and can adjust for the gap between each monitor.
Also, in Planetary Interaction mode, when you zoom into a planet, usually you can see the horizon line. If your window wraps 3 screens, the perspective changes and you no longer can see the horizon when you zoom in.

I am curious - since CCP has partnered with nVidia, have they implemented CUDA with the multiple monitor support?

Edited by: Wata Keshive on 22/09/2010 06:56:52 First, woooooop i like this feature very much. Thanks CCP. After testing a little bit yesterday I figured out some issues with my setup. I am using 2 monitors with 2 different resolutions and 1 account. First one is a 25" with 1920*1080 and the second one is a 22" with 1680*1050. When running eve in windowed mode and dual view desktop (nvidia), I have to stretch the eve-window manually over both displays. This causes a dramatic frame drop but eve is displayed in native resoltions on both monitors. To avoid this frame drop, the nvidia driver hae to set to "span the desktop over 2 monitors". Eve is now thinking that that there is one big monitor instead of 2. The eve-window could now be sapnned over both displays and the frame rate is up in normal speheres again (60). Problem now is, both monitors are driven with same resolution of 1920*1080. Because this is not the native resolutuion for the 22" it causes a very blurred picuture on it... unplayable. Are there any suggestions on playing with dual monitors, 2 different native resloutions and 1 account?

Not having the option to do this and the fact that things like the ESC option screen also comes up in the middle of two screens getting chopped for two different screens, makes resize and offset features useless on two monitors.
