Edited by: Eddie Mac on 01/01/2005 14:10:24 Level 4 Agent mission "Pirate Extravaganza"
Has anyone completed the extra level (the extra jump after the mission is over)? Been thru a couple of times but the result was carnage.
It looked like only the sentries were firing (although TBH my ship didn't last very long ). So would it be possible for a group to cap x-fer or remote armor repair the targeted player. Destroy the sentries and then agro the group and kill them.
Been experimenting with a Arma fitted with 3 hardeners (Angels rats, so exp, therm & kin) and 5 large repairers with corpmates x-fering cap. It can be done but takes a while to setup so i think remote armor repairing is less complicated/ quicker. Thinking of trying it a tanked arma with 3 corpmates in ravens, fitted with remote armor repairers.
Any experience/info/stories welcome....
Cheers, Eddie

its not difficult to tank if you dont act like a noob and shoot sentries
Only 1 group attacks you at a time on the stage which requires the tag
Its quite simple ---------------

I'm not sure we're talking about the same mission. I don't remember requiring a tag to jump through (unless I had one in my cargohold). A Level 4 agent mission, with Angel cartel rats?
Are you saying that the way to do it is to tank a bunch of techIII sentry guns (presumably getting some distance). Then aggro each group in turn and kill them? Just seems like alot of damage to tank. I've got lvl5 in hull upgrade and repair systems but did you need to fit more than 2 named Large repairers?

Sorry dude but that info is entirely incorrect. Firstly all the sentries open fire the second u jump into system
2ndly on the 6th gate, there are no groups, ALL the ships attack at once, including the sentries. There is no way in hell that any ship could tank that spawn alone, so the one who thinks his apoc can, is mistaken. << Not sure about the lev3 variant, i speak of the lev4

I don't think a stock equipped Apoc could tank the spawn long enough to be honest. But it might be possible with uber kit (faction armor repairers etc.) I guess.

I think the people saying they've done lvl 6 of the lvl 4 one solo are confusing it with lvl 3 or something.

I have yet to complete this one, I agree the damage from the sentry's is insane, but your idea about the 3 ravens in close support with two remote repairers is a good one, I support friends with a raven in exactly that way.
Maybe a better idea though would be a Raven or two, and an apoc (setup just as pure support), I usually run out of cap pretty sharpish when I remote repair my friend, though its usually more than enough time to reduce the spawn enough.

Ive had several of those. Never took an actuall combat ship through, but this is what me and my shuttle saw for a DS PE mission from a Gal Navy agent:
10 Tower Sentry III (amarr) 4 Citadel Launchers 10 frigs 18 cruisers 4 battleships.
And thats only within 80k of the warp in point. And ALL aggro'd at the same time, though tbh, the turrets killed my shuttle first.
When you warp in, you got about 2 seconds to say 'OH SH**!' before they start blasting.
It ain't over till the fat lady falls on ya!
[ 2004.10.09 02:50:23 ] (combat) Your 425mm Compressed Coil Gun I perfectly strikes Guardian Sentry, wrecking for 747.3 damage.

yeh i been through that was some hard s***. i got a railathron tanked to hell and had a raven with me. as u probebly all noticed they always attack the mission runner in my experience so i got all the fire constantly my buddy never even got shot at. there was 1 sentry, cant remember the name of it, was hitting for about 250 as i remember at sheild, cant remember when it got me to my armour tanking (was still a fair bit tho), there was about 3 cepters, 1 bs 2.25mil or 1.75 mil (im sorry i this was about a month ago) few frigs and a few big cruisers, they where over 100k. and gee that hurt, only just made it. contemplated warping out at one point. there was a battle station there too, doesnt shoot u, but i was expecting some cool loot from atleast 1 ship. was all rubbish, the bs never even dropped a can. took us ages to destroy the station, my hits where about 150 from each rail (average, some 400's and some misses too, not sure how u miss a station at 10km but oh well ) plus 2 launchers with torps, mate hade 6 or 7 seige now i cant remember, and it took us ages to destroy it, he ran out or torps as did i about about half way through struc, had full drones on it too. and didnt even get an overseers from it when it went boom _______________________________________________

I've seen that last level, and I successfully escaped alive in my Raven. I always enter unknown mission levels assuming I'll have to run, which has saved my ship several times.
I doubt it can be done solo, but I could be wrong. To date, this is the ONLY level 4 mission section that I have unable to solo.

Me and a few mates stayed up until 4am running this mission last night, between us we had an apoc (agent runner and target) a scorpion, cyclone and stabber.
Althought we had a few hairy moments (particulary when some of the cruise sentries locked up my stabber (900 damage per hit), we managed okay apart from the excessive time it took.
Anyway being a curious soul I took my stabber through the final gate for a look see.
Anyway suffice it to say I had plenty of time to take a few screenshots from my pod, the Angel retirement centre and battlestation in particular look quite interesting :)

Greal, thx for digging up this topic, i'd forgotten about it. Well, I managed to complete the bonus stage. Here's what happened and what loot we got;
SHIPS: 1 Armageddon tanked (me/mission runner). Setup, 3 armor hardeners and a tech2 energised, 1 Large repairer. Gives u about 65% resistances for all damages. 3 Ravens with remote armor repairing. 2 with 1 large remote armor repairer and 1 medium and 1 guy with 2 large.
After completing the 'normal' mission levels, i jumped through the bonus gate and waited till the sentry guns locked me. I could tank these with 2 large repairers but the one repairer was enough time for my corpmates to jump in and start remote repairing. Without any of us firing a shot only the sentry guns are aggro'ed. We then moved out to about 75km from the nearest sentry gun and stopped there. I then fired on the nearest sentry gun and the whole pack of Angels rats targeted me. As they flew over to me my corpmates took out the ships as they came into range. The first wave of missiles from the rats hit me but my tank held.
I think this is the critical bit as his represents the most damage they can deal (tech3 sentries, cruise batteries and nearly the whole pack of ships). So at this point i had 1 Large repairer plus a combination of 4 large and 2 medium repairers from my corpmates. To be honest this was probably overtanked, for the situation, but we didn't know that going in. Anyway, after that it got tricky as some of the BSs and sentries switched targets to the Ravens so we had a frantic time on teamspeak trying to ensure whoever needed repairered got it. In the confusion, 1 Raven had to warp out but we cleared the rats and were left with just sentries. To kill them we moved in to targeting range and took out each in turn, repairing whoever needed it.
LOOT: From the rats... nothing good really, just standard mission loot (poor). From the buildings.... 1x platinum Dommination Angel tag, 1x 11th tier overseers personal effects, 20,000 Bane torps, 40 Ogre drones and some other less memorable stuff.
Was real fun on teamspeak, as good as some PvP encounters. So kudos to CCP for putting it in. Worth the risk? ....tough one.... if you lose a BS, probably not. My arma was insured and had only one tech2 item on it so maybe you'd break even if we lost it. Anyway, im sure there are other/better ways of doing it. If so, post away....

Soloed the LEVEL IV BONUS STAGE (the second jumpgate) with an armor tanked megathron, so i assume doing it with an apoc is a peace of cake.
Again, the setup and skills are VERY important in such of fights. My mega repairs 1800 armor HP every 15 seconds (add that i'm tanking 2 attributes corresponding to the enemy faction specializations i'm attaking at ~72-75%). I can stay repairing without killing my cap for a very long time...
Again and again, SETUP, SKILLS and TRICKS do the difference between YOU and Amthrianus and me
me > Amthrianus > you

2nd jumpgate? We are both talking about a lvl4 agent, the 6th jumpgate on the "pirate extravaganza" mission.

Angels do all 4 damage types, so what's their specialisation?
Not arguing, just trying to clarify.

I'm confused by this.
this mission has 6 gates total. the 6th being the bonus stage and locked via tag entrance. need the tag in cargo to activate gate.
so if you did this solo and only got to the second gate.......how did you complete the mission as it had 3 more gates/areas to jump and clear before you can complete.
