ok im in my deimos.
have 70% em and thermal resistance, 80+ kinetic and 58% explo.
using modal medium ions with iridium.
opti 5.5km
dmg mod 6. something
caps relay, med nost, PDU, accom med rep took up the other highs and lows.
web,warp scram, 10mn ab in meds.
now this prophecy is with a taranis and crow.
I warp in and make opti on the prophecy and open up.
the crow and taranis fire but do little. (2-7dmg).
now then the prophicy fires and kills half my shields.
not odd as im not tanked them.
im firing from opti and doing f all to the prophecy shields.
and nosting at the same time.
he reaches my armor second volly.
i have full tank on.
he kills me 3 vollys later in my opti.
i have not beaten his shields even.
my question is how?
i was on my turms range wise in a setup i had tanked a gankageddon in for 3min.
pls im not bothered by the loss but really need to know if a prophecy can pull with a general setup?
All i know is he got final blow with a heavy pulse 1.

The only way i can see a prophecy beating a deimos is if it keeps you out of your optimal range via webbing. How much damage was the prophecy doing to your armor, i don't see how you can go down in 3 volleys with those resistances.
Sounds weird.

The only way i can see a prophecy beating a deimos is if it keeps you out of your optimal range via webbing. How much damage was the prophecy doing to your armor, i don't see how you can go down in 3 volleys with those resistances.

6* low slots.... check your logs for extreme damage.

I was about to say that maybe the prophecy had it's lows full of damage mods, but apparently you would have been able to tank him longer, since you tanked a gankageddon....Unless....Was the gangageddon missing a lot when you tested your tank against it?
Besides, you used Iridium, while he was probably using multi-freq, so that may be a factor...
Still weird...

And don't discount the Taranis and Crow -- maybe they won't do a lot of damage with each hit, but they'll do a -lot- of hits.

i find it weird the taranis did little damage .
you took probably 30% of its damage , and these little
things deal tons of it.
even 30% thermal damage of both a taranis using AM
and proph using multifreqs with full damage setup will be
very painful.

just wan't to know if this is a game machanic thing or my usual crap piloting.

With good skills a Prophecy coupled with 2 other ships can cause you problems.
On an NPC set up I have 3000 armour and 68%, 68%, 70%, 74% resistances and over 5 for dmg at a 4 sec rof on 6 weapons plus missiles and drones. This can run for ever with a cap recharge rate of 288 for 2250 cap. The T2 armour repairer can run for a while as well. There is 2187 shield and 2812 structure to add to that. Plus you had 2 other ships to contend with.
Its not an easy meal for anything less than a BS. If the prophecy was set for ganking you're not gonna last long.

ure setup looks wonky... why the hell are u using iridium with blasters? why u need a cpu mod tahts wasting a slot, why u not using a tech 2 armor rep? id be guessing a deimos setup is like:
5 electron 2's(M size)
1 med nos 2
10mn mwd, web, 20km scram
med rep tech 2
50% explosive
20 % to all
3 cap relays or 2 cap relays 1 dmg mod.

the taranis and crow are strong, I doubt they were really dishing out as little damage as you saw. You must have caught the smaller hits in your log.
You probably should've killed the taranis first, then the crow, then left.

ya, im sure the taranis and crow caused you a lot more grief than you log showed, even though you were in a heavy assault, a nicely setup taranis can still do a helpful amount of damage, and I'm sure the crow coulda just as well, along with the prophecy to help, the three of them prolly just way overwhelmed you, especially if the proph was setup for pure damage |

It was a True Sansha PDU and it was my Crow that was doing all the damage 
Seriously though, as you can guess the Prophecy was setup to do damage and you did get right to his optimal range. I wasn't really that suprised to see your shield disappear quickly, but I was shocked with the speed your armor evaporated. The taranis had warped out at the start, don't think he even got a shot on you (he wasn't on the killmail). By the time he eventually got back, you were hitting structure. I'm sure my missiles did some appreciable damage to you, but there's no doubt the Prophecy was doing the hard work.
Even though we won the day, I still think that stacking of damage mods should carry some kind of penalty.

Did he pack drones? How about heavy missiles? Your resistances are low to explosives. Post the combat log here and I can tell you more.

Yeah, in my log my hybrid gun fires so fast that it rarely even logs that my missiles are hitting at all, all I ever see is "125mm Scout hits for..." repeatedly and the odd "missile hits for...". But I do get killmails, so my missiles must be hitting.
Can't remember if Dylan had heavy drones, but he definitely did have drones out.
