My understanding of the storyline mission implementation was that this system should replace the important missions system. As such we should be expected to get a storyone mission at random intervals based upon stats such as standings, quality, effective quality etc. (or at least those kind of things if not necessarily those exact ones). However, to counter the possibility of getting an improbable, and highly unlucky, infrequent number of important missions, the system was implemented to have a maximum of 20 consecutive succesful missions before the next important one. I believed this was also implemented for the storyline missions.
Since Exodus launch I've not had a single storyline missions. At first I wasn't surprised because I ignored the buggy Deadspace missions and other missions that were bit irritating (like hauling 50k m3 of stuff). Lately, I've been completing all missions offered, just to see one of these storylines, but I've still not recieved one. Twice I've gone over the 20 mission threshold (atm, I think i'm close to 30), but with no luck.
Is the system still a bit fubar? Is my understanding of the system a bit fubar?

You get a LOT less storyline missions then you got important missions. Getting your faction standing up is a royal pain in the behind.
Not to mention the Storyline agents are always a member of corps youve never worked for. Resulting in a 0.4 standing increase with some corp you couldnt care less about. ---------------------------

Actually, I got the impression that the GMs were 'turning off' storyline missions if you complained about them more than once. Certainly, I've not had one for more than ten days now, and I've done a lot of missions in that time. If so, I'm reasonably content, since they were 100% broken for me.
On the other hand, can't CCP just remove them entirely and confirm that they are currently borked for all of us? ...Replacing the old Important Missions would go down well with me, and I suspect a lot of others too!

I've had no problems getting storyline missions - in fact, I've gotten more than I want. They pop up about every three or four days and half the time I just ignore them because they want me to go 15 jumps one way into low sec space... to kill targets that can't even scratch my shields.
Of course, with those crap all targets comes crap all bonuses, of course. The only reason I do storyline missions at all is because it does raise your overall faction standings... if fractionally.

I could have sworn I read they were supposed to be similar frequency to importants
Oh well, at least I'm not missing on much as it stands at the moment

Storyline missions are 1 every 16 successfully completed missions. Every failed/refused mission extends the number of successful missions required for the next storyline mission.

That can't be right... When I first switched to a new agent I humped him for a few days and did like 20 missions a day. Then because of the holidays I stopped doing so many for about a week (doing maybe a couple a day if any at all). Initially, during that heavy time I got one, then during that down week I got two almost right in a row (one was still pending in fact I think). Then I just got another one after doing maybe 10 more missions. I don't recall a developer ever giving any hard numbers with regard to frequency of Storyline missions. ---------------

Quote: 2005.01.01 20:58:00 I am in need of your services, Joshua Calvert, for a very special mission.
Please come meet me at Vlillirier V - Moon 2 - Wiyrkomi Corporation Factory as soon as possible if youÆre interested. This mission is of utmost importance to the Caldari State, and would not go unnoticed in the world.
I have uploaded the mission details into your NeoCom journal.
With regards, Onti Isida
Nothing in the Neocom, no idea if it is kill/courier mission, and Vlillirier is quite a few jumpd away.
At least give us some idea what ship to use.
