no you don't need to make new fittings for fitting rigs or fit everything you have skills for
you obviously have to make new ones to get charges
and I did not fix the other thing you're talking about, so I don't know. Gÿà EVE User Interface Programmer Gÿà GÖÑ Team Super Friends GÖÑ @CCP_Punkturis My Dev Blogs |

Has the "fit to a certain slot" requirement been removed too? Otherwise I see rigs being deleted becuase they're 3-2-1 instead of 2-3-1 for instance.
Oh, and the error message you get when moving a gun from slot 1 -> 2 stating you have no slots left.. while its actually just a move?
no the certain slot requirement has not been removed but if your ship has rigs, no rigs will be fit so they won't get destroyed. Gÿà EVE User Interface Programmer Gÿà GÖÑ Team Super Friends GÖÑ @CCP_Punkturis My Dev Blogs |

Hakaru Ishiwara wrote:Most excellent news regarding cargo-based charges being saved w/the fitting. That is a truly useful addition to EVE's fitting functionality. Thank you. CCP Punkturis wrote: FIRST THING! The biggest annoyance appeared to be that rigs in saved fittings aren't fit. To solve that in such a way people don't accidentally fit expensive rigs they didn't want to fit we've added a question asking if you really want to do that. That question is suppressible so if you're confident you'll never make a boo-boo, you can just check that box and never see the question again.
We also decided that if there are already rigs fit on the ship, no rigs will be added or destroyed (you'll get a notification saying why your rigs weren't fit). Let's be clear: CCP is restoring functionality that it removed. The ability to automatically fit up rigs with all of the warning bells was previously available to pilots until it was removed in a patch w/in the past year or so.
I'm pretty sure you're not right about this because people have been asking for this for way over a year..
but my THIRD THING is something that used to work and then stopped working and was fixed now Gÿà EVE User Interface Programmer Gÿà GÖÑ Team Super Friends GÖÑ @CCP_Punkturis My Dev Blogs |

Love the changes though.
As some others have said, and I'll likely repost into the F&I discussion section, is it possible to get information on said fit in a more information window? Much like how the current fitting window has the expansion arrow that shows more stats, bringing that onto a saved fit that might show relevant information with your skills and such would be downright ******* awesome.
As a second idea to that, having a market section that shows the current price of the modules in your region/total price of the fit in your region and the option to buy all the modules on said fit, with a single click (or two..) would save people a lot of time and hassle. I understand you can save it to the quick bar and get the items that way, but you still have to click each module, find the right price, right place, click buy now, confirm, repeat for EVERY module type.
I'm lazy, and if I think the price is reasonable, why not just hit buy now and have it do it for me? All ready to go.
More time pew'ing, less time clicking and assembling things to pew.
there won't be added a "buy this" button now and I don't have any plans on doing so.. but until then you can drag the fitting to the market quickbar and have all the things there.. should at least make things a LITTLE bit easier Gÿà EVE User Interface Programmer Gÿà GÖÑ Team Super Friends GÖÑ @CCP_Punkturis My Dev Blogs |

That would help a lot to : - add the backup fit in the hold (like the combat fit of your carrier, or an extra tackle module for your hurricane) - refill an industrial before the daily trips to production planets (which takes some time and is a pain in the current sitiuation) - add the pax amarria, exotic dancers & other diverse voodoo dolls (mandatory in any pvp ship) - create fittings with containers (that give additionnal room for cap charges) - and more ! from the Sisi feedback thread : "Punkturis" wrote:I know! you guys always just ask for more!!! When clicked it would go to the market, in the station you are currently in, and quote you a total cost for all available modules and the hull. It would make note of any unavailable modules and present the user with an accept quote and cancel purchase buttons. if accepted, the tool would verify all modules are still availible, then subtract the quoted amount from the players wallet, and buy all the parts for the player. From here the parts could be 1)dropped in the hanger or 2)Auto fitted to the hull !!! CCP could even charge a small .5% fee or something for the buying service and it would still be used.
it's a great idea but it's more of a market change, not a saved fitting change so it's out of scope for what I've been doing Gÿà EVE User Interface Programmer Gÿà GÖÑ Team Super Friends GÖÑ @CCP_Punkturis My Dev Blogs |

Not so good news rigs in cargo as some people have requested will not be saved this time - sorry about that. it's just a little bit more complicated and needs more special casing (I don't like that) than I would have wanted.
The good news Ice products in cargo will be saved under "Fuel". This means that your Liquid Ozone, any type of Isotopes and Strontium in cargo will be saved with the fitting
Hope this addition to my changes will make some lives in New Eden even better

Will said fuel be able to be placed in a fuel bay if present by default, or will it be placed in the cargo bay? it's just in cargo - sorry Would it be possible to have this some time in the future SoonGäó, or is it not technically possible? I have a feeling many people would really like it if you managed to add this.
I just haven't given it any thought. These changes were mostly made for those who are mass-fitting ships but weren't really made so that people didn't ever have to think about their fittings again

Now seems a good time to bump the thread for a reply to Post 54If the changes were supposed to help people who mass fit ships then why do we still need to have maxed-out combat skills for all 4 races to do it? While your changes are good, and thanks a lot for the work you have done, this solution does not seem to actually cure the problem that you set out to fix. Items we don't have the skill to fit cause a popup and the item remains in our hangar. With a simple change these items could be placed in the hold of the ship in question. If the hold fills up THEN you should pop up a message and leave the item in the hangar - this cures the problem you set out to fix.
I want to clear that up that I'm not actively working on making fixes and changes to the saved fittings. I had a few days available after the deployment of Inferno so I just picked a few things many people had been asking for.
I believe my changes fix the problem of mass-fitting ships for most people, at least the thank yous and appraisal I've gotten from those people in various corporations and alliances make me believe that.
Changing things so that you can fit things you don't have skills for, or add everything in cargo you can't fit is out of scope for these little things I made (also more of a game design decision than a programmers decision).
Hope my changes will at least help you somewhat!

Vaerah Vahrokha wrote:First of all welcome back Punkturis! Hope it was a good vacation.
Second thing, some suggestions for a future patch:
1) Ability to store the position of the modules shown on the screen.
This would help twofold:
Swapping ships or sharing fittings would both be removed the bothersome "now I have to re-assign all the modules HUD buttons again so that the AB / MWD comes first, then shield booster, then hardeners... Expecially for grouped weapons this usually involves re-dragging all the turrets / missile launchers to the left, since they appear every other icon, with one HUD icon greyed and usually ending up behind the overview window (so we have to un-pin it, move / resize it just to grab the icon and drag it in position.
2) When dragging and dropping a fit onto the market hotbar (A GREAT THING! <3 ), could you also place the ship hull in the list? Nothing more embarassing than buying the full Orca fittings and then discover you forgot the Orca itself!
3) When dropping a fitted ship (i.e. from the ships hangar in station or at POS) on the market hotbar, only the hull gets in there. Now, showing just the hull makes sense when dropping 1 or more repackaged ships. But in case of fitted ships what about copying the same behavior of the fitting window and so create a folder with said hull and all the various modules etc, like if you dropped a saved fitting? The code to do it looks basically similar.
4) You gave us the nice ability to drag and drop show info / links pilot names into the "Name" edit box of the private item swap contracts. Could you please also make it possible to drag and drop the finished / active contracts price into a new contract?
Workflow:
I open a completed contract (I sell hundreds of BPC contracts), start a new contract, drag the big red big price from the completed contract into the empty price box of the new contract.
5) Manufacturing window: you know when we get to the "Accept quote?" window we get a table with the list of stuff. It'd be really nice if we could drag the item names into a chat.
I.e. if I need Crystalline Carbonide Armor Plates, I'd love to be able to drag such name on a chat and ask for it and similar.
Another great feature would be:
Right click on "Accept quote?" window => Copy to clipboard
We got it for other table windows, it'd help nicely to do it for materials, so if we miss just 10 of this and 20 of that we can later paste the names and quantities on the market window.
OR
if you feel masochistic, add a right click menu next to each item: "Buy missing quantity" that would directly open a buy window for that item, with the quantity already typed in.
a lot of those things you're asking for is iteration on the awesome little things CCP karkur has been making and talking about in her dev blogs. I'll tell her about your post Gÿà EVE User Interface Programmer Gÿà GÖÑ Team Super Friends GÖÑ @CCP_Punkturis My Dev Blogs |

Your work in EVE is always appreciated and this is a perfect example that you listen and understand what players need.
Since you're literally the coolest person @ CCP with concerns to the UI and it's development I have two questions for you:
1. With all the mining barge changes coming up, why don't miners have a nifty way to monitor how much people have mined in a fleet yet? (hint).
2. This is something you may or may not be able to answer. However, why doesn't CCP develop an API for players to hook into to customize the UI ourselves? It's been a very good thing in other mmos as their ui developers have a much broader development team since it uses it's community.
That is all, thank you for your work.

Stick the rigs in the cargo hold and the player can install them.

I can't fix it but I've forwarded the problem to Tuxford (who's on vacation) - hope that helps It works for new saved fittings just not on older ones. If it is that annoying save a new fitting.
