DO NOT RUSH INTO THE NEXT BIGGEST SHIP!
If you cannot fit large guns and large peppers, do NOT fly a battleship! Also, avoid trying to run Lvl4s in a BC, yes you can do it but you will make more money blazing through lvl3s with the same ship! I am telling you that from experience, just because you can run a level 4 in a passive shield arty hurricane, doesn't mean you should.

Ah but the time you spend in maxxing out your BC skills to achieve a 'medium' pace, you could be skilling up that BS.

Wrong - a domi for instance is a much better ship to use for lvl 4s than a myrmidon. You don't even need to have gallente specific guns - just put any guns to get the agro, release the drones and enjoy
and believe me - 2 large armor reps , 4 specific hardeners and a damage control(+ enough cap to run em) and you're ready for 90% of the lvl 4s.(and if you still have troubles put an afterburner and move perpendicular to the incoming fire to get even more tanking through speed(works for missiles too)).
Hell unless you're running lvl 3s I'd bypass the BC all together - back in the day we didn't have em anyway (and a domi is probably only 10m more expensive than a BC)
