Wondering whether anyone has tried this admittedly very unpromising looking career path: if suicide ganker A blows up B's ship, can small fast ship belonging to a parasitic third party C grab the loot before A does?
(Might be a better idea using different letters of the alphabet. It's the lemsips, see.)

Oh my yes, I've done this many times when bored.
Their looter has a somewhat better chance than you do to get there first, but if you're in a frigate with a MWD and nanos/cargo expanders, you have a good chance at beating him. It's tough if they instapop, though.

Remember to rub it in their faces for hours if you swipe a big score from them. Dock up and talk all kinds of smack.
While still taunting them, swipe their loot AGAIN with an alt account. After a while, undock and repeat.
Good times, plus you could concentrate, bottle and sell the tears as a unguent to resurrect the dead.

For added lulz, let them gank your hauler as you are moving the loot to sell, and steal it from them again. ___________ EVE is dying! Now for real! |

Honestly, anyone who pulls this off properly wins EVE.

Hey, if you're willing to trade the ISK loss not covered by insurance and sec status hit for a frigate that will cost 75,000 ISK to replace and can be stacked by the dozens at the station in question, no one's stopping you.

I made my share of isk during H3 by ninja'ing into some gank ops and swiping from some of those fine fellows.

I think that core audiences in the West are big fans of simply paying that monthly subscription and getting everything, and so I think we're going to stick with that. --S |

This is as old as suicide ganking itself, and any suicide ganker who doesn't have a pick up in situ will lose their prize very fast.

one of the best deaths I have had in eve was lowsec ninja'ing on my alt. I got the loot from a couple legit fights, and I got the loot from a suicide gank on a hulk, continued on my way.
I was in a cheetah and a Jaguar was baiting with a nice wreck.
I wanted to see if the cheetah is faster so I took the bait, intentionally.
The Jaguar is faster, and I lost my ninja'd from a suicide gank loot. When you say "fanboi" try to picture a fat man doing burlesque with 2 big ass fans that say CCP on one and HTFU on the other. Because that dude is me. |

I was in 0.0 about a year ago and there was a hostile corp that lived a few jumps away from our dead end pipe. They always used to have small fleets through there at many times of the day.
One day I jumped into the system with a salvaging interceptor that I had fit for cleaning up my home. When I jumped into the system, there was a freighter wreck sitting unsalvaged about 40 off the gate.
Knowing it was most probably a trap, I slowly approached the wreck, turned on the t2 salvagers. Of course, recon's uncloaked. Fortunately, one of the salvagers did its job, I filled the rest of the hold with fuel, overloaded the MWD and took off the opposite direction they were coming from.
Their very tempting freighter wreck had been replaced with a can in space.
I had seen their trap and ruined it for them. They were less than thrilled and even refused to talk to me in local.
it was awesome

Have you even been at a gate in sivala, uedama right after a suicide gank takes place? The number of haulers, shuttles, mission ships that turn up to see what they can grab is astounding.

I have deliberately lurked around what appear to be gatecamps and done just this. As someone else said, assuming any of them are still around after CONCORD drops by, they are MORE than welcome to lose their ship by taking out my l'il old frigate/destroyer - which is empty, by the by. Love the smack talk afterwards. A couple of them have cried like children, almost taking it to the foot-stamping, "This is unfair!" level.
Awesome stuff. I have always meant to do this in Jita, just never gotten around to it. .

It's exceedingly difficult in Jita, there are 100+ other people trying to do the same thing.

see people do this all the time way to combat it is to just pop any frig or destroyer that gets near the wreck since u usually instapop the haulers u still have about 3 volleys left with a huricane, or u just go after something really big like hacs or 2k hobb II
