The jag is first and formost either a heavy tackler that immobilizes target seconds after the dedicated uber long point tackle inty has to gtfo after getting the initial point or is the damage dealer/bait ship for a frigate gang. Barrage autos don't to _too_ badly on that front, but ... yeah. On the flip side, you gain a lot of superiority in mobility in scram range.

The only advantages that I am aware of are easier fitting requirements and better tracking. Though given that autocannons are among the best tracking weapons in the game, I find it hard to believe that tracking on the 200s is that bad.

The OP asked for help with fits for solo PvP, not for you to tell them why they shouldn't be using one in a solo role in your opinion. The Jaguar can be great fun to fly solo, but I agree with a few others here that I would ALWAYS fit an MWD or dual-prop. Otherwise you leave yourself open to be (very easily) killed by a stabber, thrasher, rupture, and a lot of other stuff that's faster than you with an MWD and can hit at range. I personally favour the dual prop because it allows you to outrun when needed, catch almost everything you want to kill, and get up close and personal should this be desirable. I don't have my fit at work, but it's basically dual prop (1mn AB II, phased monopropellant), an MSE, damage control and gyrostab in lows, 3x150mm AC IIs and a NOS (yes, not a neut) in the highs. In my experience a small neut to ever so slightly drain the cap of an opposing frigate that you'll probably kill without it is far less valuable than being able to keep a scram an AB running while orbiting a neuting Rupture/vexor/arbitrator. -Ed
