At risk of offending the Russians for my bad translation. The last long post of Russian congradulated his commrades that destroyed the Domnix ships. He also added that his fire power could be calcualted for his Thoarx to be there next time. :) Hope that si close enough Rus. If not plase feel free to tell me where to shove it. :)

I'd have to say, I'm offended by the call for english only as well. I only speak English, and a smidge of Spanish, but I see nothing in the rules of conduct that state only English in the forums, and I would say that asking for such a thing by an official representative off CCP/EVE is on the edge of violating rule number 9 of the rules of conduct:
"9. Immediate banning from the forum can result from any of the following:
The posting of ****ography; discriminatory remarks which are sexually explicit, harmful, threatening, abusive, defamatory, obscene, hateful, racially or ethnically offensive; excessive obscene or vulgar language; posts which discuss or illustrate illegal activity; providing links to sites that contain any of the aforementioned."
Granted its not really ethnically offensive to state that members of the forum who may only be able to speak in their native russian (or other language) are not allowed to post. This seems descriminatory to me.
I hope this is a rogue request by the Polaris member and not a supported policy by CCP.

Hi all,
first up did any one take screen shot pls post. 2nd thanks to mo0 for not whining :) 3rd why are people taking offence the reason behind the request to keepit in english is because this is a moderated board and it helps if the moderators can understand what is being moderated. A solution get a massivly multilingual person to translate every post. get lots of people that speak every language to moderate i.e people join polaris. OR the most simple solution is that every 1 just trys to stick to english:)
Hope no takes offense if they do *shruggs* they are just being ackward

I think the reason that the forum should be in english is that most of the forum understands and english and all of the moderators understand english.
Anyone who took it as an offensive slur or otherwise, i suppose that is your perogative.

I think that Moo's problem is that although they are very well organized and committed, they are nerfed in the department of common sense. By making themselves public enemy number one, they are basically setting themselves up for extinction. Although they have been able to gain a head start in the game with their skill, it is impossible to overcome the sheer number of people growing in strength. This is when they will be chased out of the game and into oblivion. The more intelligent players who have been able to build their resources steadily and maintain good diplomatic relations will be the ultimate winners.

The reason for the request to speak English is not because of discrimination but simply because this is a moderated board. The same rules that apply to Enlish speakers regarding the use of racial slur, discrimination etc go for foreign speakers aswell. Yet to enforce this the Moderators would actually have to speak the language. (If they infact allowed languages besides english, lets say German for instance, the german community could talk about anything they wanted to, use profanity or whatever, and if no GM spoke it they could break board rules without anyone knowing) To prevent this from happening only languages that can actually be moderated are allowed, which I find fair and understandable.
As for saying "Well then get a 'insert any language here' moderator, so we can talk in our native tongue". That is not really any argument because they would have to get a moderator for every single language out there inorder to treat all customers the same.
Inorder to avoid this hassle, English is the board language, and I dont really have any problems with it.
Even if its NOT my native language.
GG to RUS and m0o btw, glad that some corporations can simply fight, without all the whining, bragging and moaning.

Ya grats to Rus on the battle. I got a bit of the after action review from jort and it sounds like battleships need to be balanced hehe. I was hoping that a battleship on battleship battle would last a minute at least.

Ya, RUS did a very good job, I am proud of them. I know that more people are gonna feel the pain of RUS shortly, my bship lasted oh just 5 shots, with hardeners on. J0rt's lasted a bit longer, about 8-10 shots. Not much can stand up to 1400-1900 a shot. Congrats RUS, I knew you would be one of our top competitors. :)
Oh ya for all those that want to know, Once your ship dies you have time to warp your pod away, thats why we both didn't get pod'd.
