Frequency: You will be contacted by an agent giving these missions once every 16 successfully completed missions. However, this number will increase if you fail or refuse a mission.
Lets say you have done 15 successful missions with Agent X, and these are the only missions you have ever done....
Mephysto, are you sure about it?
Yesterday I did two missions for an Caldari Agent. After these two mission i got a storyline mission. Declined none, should be ~8 missions for the training agent, + 8 missions for the second training/story/whatever agent, + 2 missions for the caldari agent = 18. :P
Now to the thing that really hurt me: My skills are low, less than 400000 skillpoints and now I should fight in this storylinemission against: 3 bs ( 250k isk ), 5 missilecruisers ( 85k isk ) and 8 elite frigs ( 10k isk ).
I fly a Merlin Frigate, no BS or Cruiser!
Mfg Skar
PS: What i forgot: Did the 2 missions for an level 1 agent

Same for me. Every storyline missions from my level two agent have NPC battle ship in. What a heck that mean? It's known bug? If yes why isn't fixed yet? What should take so long to fix it?

This is the description of Agent Storyline missions in Features->New in Exodus
"Agents are getting more picky on what they desire. They have more complex tasks that require a number of interlinked missions to do in order to complete. They also lead to juicier benefits such as minmatar sla... employees and occasional rare item or blueprint."
When I first read this before Exodus went live I was excited about this change. Exodus is now here for a while now and nothing in that description is true.
Complex Tasks - What flying 5-20 jumps to kill 4 pirates is Complex! Interlinked Missions - Never had more than 1 mission and until recently were all the same mission. Lead to juicier benefits - 50k to complete mission + 50k bonus is the best I've had, I'm dribbling with excitment now! Storyline - And why the hell do they call them Storyline missions. Where is the story? I want to be dying of suspense so that I'm keen on doing the next 16 missions to continue the story, hoping that I get a really hard mission with a rare reward at the end.

And here is a quote from Papa Smurf
Quote: These important/storyline missions will be receiving much more luv and attention than other missions from our content team and thus should be rather fun, generally involving dungeons, multiple phases, interesting blurb and rewards to make them worthwhile.
Dungeons - Nope, Multiple Phases - Nope, Interesting blurb and rewards to make them worthwhile - Absolutely Not!

Hi! I have gotten a lot of these mails from an agent thatÆs supposed to be a storyline mission, but when I accept it is only 1 mission. And then when I think, hey, where is the storyline? He just say that he donÆt speak with meàà Are these missions only 1 and youÆre done, or should it not be at least a coupleof them, and I then get a reward at the end.
I did the first storyline mission that the tutorial agent gives you (if you want them), and I thought that these other storyline would be similar.
Am I doing something wrong here?

So, 13 hops later, I drop in, and it's a 1.5mil ISK bounty BS and 4 very hard drones! Needless to say, I lose my Merlin!
Was the mission called 'Duel to the Death' by chance? It sounds exactly like the storyline mission I have. There are 4 Spider Drone II's and a Megathron in mine. I figured i'd give it a go in my Ferox. The drones aren't really a problem as they are only interested in webbing you, but the Megathron is quite intent on turning you into scrap metal. I could only tank his damage for roughly 5 minutes before I had to warp out or die.
Anyways.. after several attempts alone I could only drop his shields before I had to warp away and of course if you warp away and then back he's at full shields again. So I call in a few buddys to help me out. I warp in to tank to damage while they fire everything they have into the Megathron. I watched as the final shot hit him and he started to explode, but just as this was happening, he disappeared and then reappeared at FULL health, wtf!? So we warp out, rearm and head back for another try. Same damn thing happens again.. pffft.
Avoid this mission as it's only reward is aggrivation!

I don't understand this at all...Where are all these "big" missions commng from??

They love me so much they wave coffe and donuts at me through the observaqtion window if I so much as fly by a hydra staion..
And yet, I get ... "Kill the 5 elite merc frigs and the lacky commader, AGAIN, cause' 28th time is surely the charm....
What am I doing wrong??
Is it my corp?? Do I need to say no to some??

Edited by: Alex Jerusalem on 11/02/2005 09:13:30 widgetman - You do realise the important missions come via EVE mail and that EVE mail doesn't flash the icon when you log on anymore? You need to check your inbox yourself each log on.

Or they end up in the mailbox and not the journal, which means you have to go into your cache folder, backup your settings & pictures folders, and wipe the cache clean... just to get the mission to come up in your journal properly.
A major bug.

I agree the story line missions basically stink. I have a 9.9 standing with the corp I run missions for.
I'm fed up with jumping 15 or 18 jumps to pop a few frigs and get a reward that wouldn't even buy a decent gun.
I'm equally fed up with the so called "offers you can't refuse" messages I get from my agent. I can easily refuse turning over 40k in loyalty points plus some other stuff just to get a 175 calardi navy rail gun. I don't use rails to begin with and I can easily get better rails in the pirate loot I pick up.
I suggest that the storyline missions be made harder and less frequent. Make them every 40 or 50 missions or so and give decent rewards for completing them.
And upgrade these offers of things from the agents. Kinda insulting to be offered some trinket after you busted your butt for the guy

Well yesterday I got my first storyline that wasn't "Mercanary Assassination". It was pretty boring stuff (transporting antibiotics), but the reward was an implant (albeit crappy hardwiring one). At least this means storyline missions have implants now \o/

I just started running missions again for the crap loot to make a bs again , have not run missions in a few months. On my 16th mission , i got a storyline mission to provide pyerite to an agent 11 jumps away. 2 escrows and an alt and its completed with no travel.
After 32nd mission , i get another storyline mission called System Cleaning. Make the 11 jumps there and kill the 6 bookmarks worth of rats and the reward was 19 miner 1 lasers and a Basic Neural (+3 willpower) implant.
My agent is not the highest quality , only -3 base quality. I am wondering if CCP might have nerfed the highest quality agents with gimped storyline agents to limit the number of implants coming into the game. If they did , i think is working since implants are coming in (again after the bug fix of storyline agents not dropping them) , but not at a very fast rate.
Since everyone seems to run only for the "best" quality agent , i think it is more than fair that only the lower quality agents refer you to storyline agents which bless you with implants.
Your Mega Afocal Pulse Maser I perfectly strikes Asteroid (Veldspar) [R0ME], wrecking for 798.3 damage.
Your 425mm Railgun I perfectly strikes Guardian Captain, wrecking for 685.9 damage.

Last night I got a storyline mission to haul 400m3 of logs six jumps - in return for a +3 Perception implant and a 4.7% standing increase. I liked this mission :)

The new agent system = joke. I don¦t want to go away from my usual agent to make another crappy mission and getting standing for another corp within the same faction. The agent mission is getting better, but the overall agent system are worse than ever.
The storyline missions should be hard to be given and have great value and difficulty, and perhaps be given news status. The normal "important" should be given by the normal agent and basicly be the same as before Exodus.

I got a storyline mission, completed it, and the agent disappeared from the station. Is that normal? Another interesting thing, I was offered a mission via Eve-mail from my normal Level 1 Agent asking me to bring him a bunch of units of X-Whatever drug. He was paying 1.6mil
But I couldn't find any in the region so I didn't accept the mission and moved onto Level 2s.

Edited by: Archa on 06/03/2005 13:11:06 I don't see what the problem is guys, I have gotten 3 important missions now, The first one was very crappy. they wanted me to kill some ships and i didn't get anything for it.
However the second mission was alot harder and i got a transport ship skill book for it, (24 million)
The 3rd one was very tough and the reward was defeatnely worth it, i got a large projectile 3% damage modifier implant.
So i don't really care what you all think of these missions, you have to work hard to get them and when you get them you can even get rewarded well for doing them. Fit your mwd and head over there.
don't complain and play the game.
Oh and one more addition, the stories are fun to read while you are flying your jumps.

Glad others have been getting storyline offers.
Must just be broke for me as I haven't seen a storyline mission offer for weeks now. Nice to see these storyline missions are now bug free -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Just had a l4 storyline last night (my first). A bunch of jumps, not too tough, and not great loot or reward (3300 data sheets bonus). Thats life. My standing went from 8.46 to 8.52 with Gallente. Maybe next time i'll get something fun. I agree with Archa, and I believe that you shouldn't always get something great for doing them.

some Weeks ago, when I still had only level3 Agents, I switched to a new level3 agent from Caldari Navy and received 3 important missions within a few hours(as far as I remember). I did only a few "normal" missions in that time, so I dont quiet believe in that 16-missions-thing. Where did that rumor originaly come from? Was it a GM or Player posting it? kind regards, Skeltek

After I finished the tutorial, the agent said he had no other missions for me other than killing some pirates for certificates. I completed that and moved on to bigger and better things. If I look up my missions, it indicates that I keep failing that mission every 24 hours. It acts like I accept the mission every day and don't complete it. I tried going back and doing it again, but I continue to get the same result. Is this supposed to happen? Am I getting "bad" standing as a result?
