Print the picture of the current avatar, frame it and put it on your desk... then if you wish, use it as reference when you make your new, to make it close to the same, or possibly better?

I hope i can get the new character to look like this one - I kinda like it. It'll be good to re-do ourselves regardless. Possibly the creation mechanics coming will enable us to do even better looking characters.

i was making my first char and the game crashed, not saving changes. i figure 'oh nice game don't see being here too long' and went with the rolled-back picture.
now almost 6 yrs later i'm still playing with my pin-headed char. i mean really look at my head it's ****ing TINY.. cripes..

When I first made my character, it was the classic fugly mercenary bloodline caldari with that stupid camo shirt, and "thing" stuck on his shoulder. After realizing that I actually wanted to play the game for awhile, I got a portrait change to the handsome devil you see before you.

All the Gallente, most of the Amarr, and most of the Caldari avatars are generally very ugly.
Minmatar hide behind huge sun glasses, dread locks, and duct tape... So they're hard to really see.

Initially, I wanted my character to look like me. After playing with the controls, I gave up on too much similarity and found that the sunken cheeks, darker skin, and grim determination gave the look of someone who had been through a lot but was holding strong with an incredible resolve that allows him to make light of any tough situation and stay sane.
I think he turned out well, and I hope very much that I will be able to preserve his looks in the coming expansion. What do you guys think?
P.S. scoring for a few portraits I see here:

I will miss my current avatar, but if I can capture a sufficiently good recreation of it, and lose the army of lookalikes (i.e. every other Intaki male) in the process, I will be happy.
An option for heterochromia would be nice.
Also, having a body will be nice, though it is unforuntate that we won't be able to walk around in out nice physics modelled clothes for a while.

The only reason I made a female character as a male player, is I got curious and fiddled with the female chargen - and then couldn't stand to delete the result it looked so nice.
As such I'm mildly concerned about having to try and replicate that same impact come Incarna's character engine >.>
