http://www.elementalgame.com/ done and improved :P
Let me reiterate..
Downloading now and will probably lose the rest of the year to this game.
But I would still like to see a straight up remake of master of magic just to get the graphics and sounds into the modern age.

Originally by: Deva Blackfire None of old games i luv deserve modern dumbed-down remakes, sorry :)
So whats wrong with taking older superiour games with sub par graphics and sounds and remaking them with modern graphics and sounds whilst keeping the superiour gameplay?

Originally by: Deva Blackfire tl;dr most new "remakes" arent even remakes per se, they are just using old series names to deliver new ****ty game. And true remakes are kinda rare (but tend to be good).
Nor trying to argue with you on that specific point but those are not actually remakes but instead money grabs based off the previous games popularity just like you said. Hence my wish for a straight up remake of mom by simply dragging it into the modern age by upgrading the graphics and sounds. As far as the 'elemental' comments go welp as I stated in another thread stardock tends to release games that are not quite finished but then go on with player involvement to turn them into 'sleeper' hits that should be anchored on everyones harddrive especially if they opt into the additional player made mods that expand on the graphics and overall gameplay.

AI War: Fleet Command? You might like it.
Matter of fact its just got a new engine and some other goodies that lets it run even better and paves the way for a much prettier overall presentation. But as for the most part you play at extreme zoom levels its practically identical to the look of supreme commander when zoomed out in icon mode so its retro graphics are not even apparent.
But like minecraft its not about the eye candy but the game experience and this game has enough complexity and sheer replayability for a dozen seperate rts games. Plus the game creator puts out patches like every few days to continually refine the game and add new stuff to throw into the game map that its almost like getting a new game every month or so when he releases an official patch. Plus its super easy to get into the beta testing for official builds as it has a built in beta download button that act like the normal patching button. But like eve you need a seperate install unless you want to stick with the beta builds.
