Originally by: Cuchulain Spartan I do a lot of programming in my line of works, all related to pharmaceutical and drug manufacture. If I produced code that was even 5% as bad as CCP's level of quality id:
A) Be fired B) Be sued for 10's of thousand if not 100's of thousand $ C) Never find employment again D) Cost my employer 10's of thousand if not 100's of thousand E) Kill off a significant amount of lab animals F) Delay the shipment of critical medication to terminaly ill patients
You CCP staff have it easy being kept employed after these latest patches! Come on, put a little more effort in, I believe
Phew, it's a good thing you don't also have to spell properly to get that critical medication out to terminally ill patients.
Cause of death: Improper use of a gerund.

It appears that the "optional" portion of 1.1a refers to the optional nature of it actually fixing anything.

Which is the logical course of action when a patch causes wildly disproportionate quantities of bugs compared to the handful of tweaks and new features it introduces?
Is it:
A.) Allow the patch to remain deployed, frantically releasing emergency patches and hotfixes whilst the entire player base suffers through a laggy, buggy gaming environment.
B.) Roll back the patch, return to testing it in an actual testing environment, and allow the player base to continue enjoying the game while you iron out the bugs.
or
C.) Take off and nuke the entire game from orbit. It's the only way to be sure.

Originally by: Frank Lonehorn it takes time to find the error in the cod first then fix it
For reference, everyone, here is an example of completely error-free cod:
This is what EVE's cod will look like in a few months.

Originally by: Ramjet Straylight Simple, I know at least one player who was online that posted in wvw chat thet if the ydid a rollback he would Quit. Why? He had made over 300 Million isk that day with a lucky set of drops from combat. Would you want to roll that back? I think not.
1.) People who will quit EVE if there's a rollback after they get a lucky drop need to HTFU.
2.) I think so. I would give far more than 300m ISK if it meant removing this terrible patch from TQ.
3.) Like the dude said above, it would be a software rollback, not a data rollback. Herp.
