Finally I can train mining, I will be afk mining in hi-sec when the patch hits, and it feels like a breath of fresh air. Are any of you feeling the same, are you beginning to train for mining again and don't you just love it?
Finally being able to do what feels most natural in space, mining whilst watching a movie or something. I saw "The Raid: Redemption", lots of guns and stuff, it was awesome, but I need some new flics for when I go mining, any suggestions?

I, too, am planning on some good old-fashioned AFK mining after the update.
I've got some TV shows on standby that I haven't had a chance to watch yet: The Walking Dead V Revenge Falling Skies
I might re-watch Firefly, and Serenity too. The only other movie I've got waiting is Gattaca, which I haven't seen for a while.
I'm also planning on reading the Wheel of Time series, which seems to be quite popular.
Happy mining! |

Starts good. Gets /very/ long winded.

Thanks for the heads-up. I'll give the first couple of books a try and see if it's worth continuing. |

The Walking Dead, V and Falling skies are complete garbage, and by that I mean the most disgusting useless junk you can possibly find, they're more emotional drama than anything else.
Firefly is of course timeless and always enjoyable, check out Sunshine(2007) as you seem to like space flics with some scares. What? No... |

The reason I'm resorting to emotional dramas disguised as sci-fi is simply because I've watched every good sci-fi made in the last 20 years, I've got nothing else to watch.
I've seen Sunshine, but it's been a while, I think I'll rewatch that one soon, along with Event Horizon, and maybe the Alien quadrilogy. |

what do you expect from a series where the author dies of old age half way through?
read the hyperion cantos, it's infinitely more awesome.

I've been a fan of Peter F. Hamilton's 'Night's Dawn' trilogy myself. The parallels between it and EVE are a bit...frightening in some ways. |

I get around 40 books a day for free- from various genres, including sci-fi. there are a few mailing lists that are updated 3/4 times a day as they find ones with high ratings (they tend not to list the low rated daily free ones).
Examples are: Pixels of Ink
and E Reader News
I know there are more, but I'm already backed up about 500 books, and that's skipping over the "Oh Charlotte of the Heaving Breast!" varieties:)

I don't mind emotional drama as long as the networks don't cancel the series. I guess it factors in to get people and ratings. I'm already fed up with cancellations (Dark Skies, The Pretender, V, Farscape, SG-1/A/U, to name some). Right now the only shows I watch are Dr. Who, Walking Dead, Falling Skies. Note: Stay away from a SyFy... |

Not sure if it counts as Sci-Fi but check out "The Lost Room". It was a mini-series on Sci-Fi channel before they sold out and went "Syfy". It's a neat concept. |
