Hi,
Just curious as to how long roughly it takes to reach a few skill point milestones (example. 30M skill points), assuming a fresh char. More of a thought exercise than anything.
Also, is there a program that can help me see this. I can queue up 1year's worth of skills in EveMon, but it doesn't tell me the end result in skill points. Or at least, I can't find it. Is there a way to see where a year's worth of training would take me?
Thanks.

Open up Evemon, go to the plan you have created, then in the top right hand corner, you will see 'select columns' under the close button. Click on that, and tick the box that says 'Estimated skill point total'.

Open a plan in Evemon, click "Select columns" in the top right corner, put a tick in "Est Skillpoint Total"
Best way to get the answer for you, since SP/hr varies wildly depending on which sills training/attribute map/implants/learning skills.

If you have enough ISK to pay skillbooks and implants you can actually make like 25 million SP in the first year, so around 15 months should do it.
You won't be really able to play the 1st 8-9 months though. Usually only players who want to train up an alt on another account do this.
The normal progression rate is around 18 million SP the first year, that'll be 18-20 months for 30 mil SP depending on your learning skills, remaps and implants.

its taken me roughly 2 years to get to 30mil sp
but i did spend a good deal of time during the first year in jump clones with no implants. SIG: if my message has spelling errors its cos i fail at typing properly :P |

The fastest you can learn is 2772 Sp/hour. The lowest post apocrapha is 450. So best case is 30m in 15 months, worst is 7.7 years.
If your primary attribute plus half the secondary, adjust for Learning, is 34.25 that is 18m per year

Currently chugging away at about 10m every 6 months, should hit 30m right before the new year.
I dread getting off this MEM/INT remap that I've had for the past year though...

the first year is generally slower for everyone. 12 mi would be good imo. 1 mil a month, because you need a ittle of everything. No hardcore remaps in year 1. The second year you could focus a bit more and be doing much better.

Edited by: T0Y on 05/10/2010 23:12:19 I am training for a specific use, but I will gain 30 Mil SP on 12/07/2011 that's less than 1 year 3 months. I was born 20/04/2010.
I'll actually get over 24 mill in the first year. You must understand though, this training is for an alt that's not yet being used and with ISK to enable full use of implants etc. The first year is helped no end from the 1.6 mill boost, if used well.
Edit: I could have trained a bit better if I had stuck to intel mem skills in the first year, but the route I took suited me.

Edited by: Abdiel Kavash on 05/10/2010 23:26:34 I am about 1y 1m old, and I have just recently crossed 19M SP. That is with +4 implants in my head most of the time, and one or two accidental poddings with an outdated clone. I have trained V/IV learnings as soon as I could fly a decent missioning / exploration ship. I haven't used any remaps yet, but I am planning to do so soon. ___________ EVE is dying! Now for real! |

Ehm 1 million a month is 1,370 SP/hour. That means you haven't trained a lot of learning skills because even with a counterproductive remap but good learning skills you'll get at least 1,600 SP/hour. 12 million SP a year is really way below par.

Edited by: Clueless Alt on 07/10/2010 18:04:39 The first year is the slowest (no learning + no implants). It will be between 10M & 20M SP depending on your will to optimize. The next years are faster, depending your remap.
I'm 3 year old, with 63M SP. It's not the maximum, because I pvp, I don't have +5 implants and have no implants sometimes.

The first year without learning and implants would be the slowest yes, but so would the next year without.
The first year trained correctly with +5 imps, actually works out to be the fastest, due to the 1.6 Mill double speed boost.
In a normal year of 365 days with you're training rate at 2772, you'll train 24,282,720 SP In my first year I'm on for training 24,588,101 SP and as I have stated before, I could have done better.
The first year is not always the slowest, even if you are using the char.

You can start out quite efficiently if you chose to work in industry or fly support ships (to name a few things). Generally, the more combat-oriented you want to be, the less efficient your first year is going to end up. You simply have to either bite the bullet and accept a half-way remap (such as int/perception) to cover ship, weapon and support skills Or you have to be satisfied flying suicide tackle/ewar ships at a mediocre level for quite a long time.

My main is 1 year 5 months old with 28.7mil sp, averaging about 2132 sp/ hour pretty crappy since the first year wasn't optimized.
My alt is about 6.8 months old and has 12.5mil sp, averaging 2565 sp/ hour.
so at this rate in 4 years my alt will have the same sp as my main O_o
