It would seem to me that CCP has now bludered and made missions a seriously long time sink now or is it my own askewed perception? Time sinks are evil m'kay! By time sink I mean things like important missions being many jumps away and in possible enemy territory and not to ignore the fact that you are getting mission from particular agent for your loyalty towards them, not some distant stranger?????? You can lump many of the missions into the time sink category now as the reward does not reflect the time put into missions now at all. for example silence the informant, pirate extravaganza ( CCP when a pilot does this mission and unlocks the last gate why not make the bs rat always drop 1 named bs item, or a cash or loyalty boost to reflect the pilots effort) are the most notable.I am curious if CCP has a particular reward formula based on faction/agent lvl/various skills , and if it has been altered as seems to be the case or rewards would be a little better. Ok off for a pint of beer and end rant............

Yeah, definatly!
A level 3 kill mission used to take me 5-10mins to complete. These days (especially the deadspace ones) take A LOT longer, even so much that sometimes i've come close to the bonus time limit.
They take even longer if you hang around to collect the loot to get the dog tags.
Nevermind eh?

I find level 3 missions much quicker if I go in with a killing ship. take a bookmark for each group of cans. Then go get my hauling cruiser and collect all the stuff. If there is a pickup as part of the mission I'll grab that so I can finish the mission whilst swapping ships.
Missions generally are much quicker if you have a short range setup. Long range tends to mean you're kiting the npc's and so the cans get spread out. ----------------------------------- A gun and a packet of sandwiches.

It's a lot worse when you realise that you've just done 35km to receive a basic power diagnostic.
It'd be nice to be able to open the can from any distance but only pick anything out of a can from 1.5km.

Have Cargo Scanner been beefed up yet? One of the devs said they where planning this. I could strap one onto my alt and not pick up any worthless junk. ---------------------------

Dunno.
Cargo Scanners are really rare in loot drops so I may have to wait a long time before I can investigate............

cargo scanners did get beefed, they start @ a 50km range and work up for the named ones. they are very nice for searching the deadspace cans

I got two cargo scanners in the last two days, one is called a Surface Scanner or something like that and the other is a Prototype something else (cant remember the exact names), they scan up to 60km and 70km respectively.

If these are the module I'm thinking of...they drop as commonly from Gurista's as say....medium shield boosters and 1MN afterburners from Sansha battleships

uhm, cargoscanners are even more common drops then the Miner 1 lasers. Heck I scrap the none named once every few days to build ammo.
Better to try and fail, then to fail due to not trying |

Does anyone else remember when Indys had the option to scoop cans to cargo? Never worked to my knowledge but it was there for a while.
ah well, nice part about the cans spread over 200Km is that I have time to post on the forums while I travel between cans....LOL

I've been getting a lot of cargo scanners dropping lately, like in the last week or less, when doing agent kill missions.
I was mistaken when i said earlier that the Surace Cargo Scanner had a ranger of 60km, it's 55km and the Prototype Cargo Scanner has a range of 60km not 70km, but I'm sure I have seen one that said 70km in it's stats.

Just found the stats on the other two cargo scanners I have.
Interior Type-E Cargo Identifier - range 65km PL-O Shipment Probe - range 70km
So does this only work when checking dropped loot cans? I always remember being able to scan NPC convoys, doesnt seem to do anything these days.
