I call you out on your integrity, backing it up with examples, and you are calling me a sore loser. I see how this is going places. If anyone else, besides you, looks bad it's Leoline who by his own account has an attitude problem if he doesn't get his way.
As far as making CVA look bad, you give yourself entirely too much credit. There's nothing that can make CVA look worse than Aralis' inability to get over himself and save the alliance as well as the free-for-all that was Providence by just telling -A- that the Catch incursion was a mistake and it won't happen again. So yeah, it takes some random blog writing about what may or may not have happened to a single pilot a few years ago to make CVA look really bad.
Either way though, as I am myself interested in FW happenings my suggestion to you was real: Think about who is reading the blog, and think about why they should care about what you are writing. That's how you get followers. The next FC interview could use less emo and more stuff that matters, like what does it take to FC, how do you know that you made the right call, what are the shortcomings of the milita, who were noteworthy adversaries, etc. etc. What happened years ago has no relevance to FW today.

The interview with Leoline was not supposed to be some sort of "how-to" manual for up-and-coming FCs or some "inspirational tale" of how one man can rise up and become a leader. It was an entertainment piece on a former, often disgruntled FC who had a lot of drama surrounding him during his time in the militia and had some interesting stories to tell about it.
I did "lead" him several times during the interview in order to bring up topics I wanted in the piece, but a lot of it was also letting him lead and asking follow-up questions about whatever he had to say. The "Did CVA routinely "punish" players etc" question was not accusational in any way; I had never heard of this happening before he said it right there and I thought it was an appropriate follow-up question.
And as far as I'm concerned you made it seem obvious you were less concerned about providing constructive criticism and more concerned with nitpicking and straw-grasping about minor details and errors like "oh there were 3 Guardians not 2" and making it seem like the fact that I miscounted the number of x ship in some fleet engagement is paramount to a failure of journalistic integrity.

On field or in system? There's a big difference between the two. I only saw one on field.

Overall most of these are rather minor facts (whether there were 2 or 3 Guardians, 1 or 2 carriers).
The difference between 2 and 3 guardians and 1 or 2 carriers is vast. Those are not "minor" facts.
Carriers are alot easier to kill than guardians though. Wich we proved all the time to you minnies ;)

Pretty sure you are confusing me with someone else, I never mentioned any ships.
My point is; Be unbiased or don't, either way is cool. Don't tout that you are unbiased and then put up clear displays that you are actually biased. That's where integrity fails. |

Urgh .. this thread reminds me why I dislike anyone that labels themselfs "Journalist" aka professional bull****ters club member.
I wonder if the whole "FWnews" is just another "trololo im so smart doing this" effort to establish an opportunity to trashtalk people/corps/allys and when you/readers get bored you shall go down in flames while posting pictures of eve chars in photoshopped gay**** situations. Obviously while claiming you trolled the whole community and waving a raging epeen around.

this thing has potential to become a mini eve 24 news site for the FW'ers
it's always good to know at least some people are intrested on bringing the news on our part of the game and a place where people can look to see how things go on the other side of the war (ie. gallente can see what minnies do and visa versa) --- Crazy dutch mofo |

Good luck FW Report. I've enjoyed reading ur blog so far.
It's good that u ask ppl for information and u try ur best to just report the facts of what's going on. U have to expect to get trolled and abused if u post in the eve forums as only trolls read the forums. Nice and mature ppl usally post one thing get trolled and never look here again.

Thanks for this! I'm a member of FW, but not the kind of super elite player in 15 intel channels. Consequently, I really don't know a lot of what goes on that neither I nor any corpmates I talk with are directly involved in. This is a great read. And to all the *****ers - it's media, made by people, it's going to have a bias and inaccuracies in various directions at various times. Wordpress blogs are free, try and write your own if it makes you that mad.

With the introduction of Spamfaust the blog has taken steep dive for the worst. It went from pretending to be unbiased and factual to one guy expressing his dislike for other pilots' playstyle. Clearly an example of journalistic excellence. |

1) you must have missed the parts where I said contributions by volunteer columnists are their own and subject only to the most basic of censorship and principles 2) they are there for entertainment value. if you aren't entertained by them, feel free not to read them. 3) if you'd like to contribute material for the blog I would be more than willing to publish it. zverofaust volunteered to create material that is relevant to FW as did Sneaky Noob and several others have shown interest in doing so and so long as it isn't complete offensive tripe I will probably publish it. 4) every newspaper from the NYTimes to the East Gwillumberry Crier has similar sections where non journalistic content is published for the entertainment of readers (crossword, sudoku, comics etc) so I dont understand what your problem is =)

I find the report to be as biased as any reporting I've found.
If you want truly biased and one-sided commentary, see my blog or Sneaky's.
I wouldn't mind contributing the odd editorial here and there as well. If I think of something I'll contact you FW. I'm contemplating one that's a tirade and analysis of station games, something I particularly loath but for some reason, like everyone, seem to get perpetually sucked into.
Full disclosure: Note that I did not request a link to my own blog from FWReport. Nor was a link to FWReport requested from mine, though I have added one, as I think it's a useful resource to those that read my journal. http://kuan-huangyinglong.blogspot.com/ |

Well for one the first battle was before the blog was even launched, for another my exposure to Caldari-Gallente warzone is very limited and thus I only know about fights when people tell me about them, which is rare.
