Seems to be a very slow trainwreck, the 4th optional trynaiis 1.1 patch was deployed and was considered a fail fit. It fixed several reported issues with the last optional patch, we would like to encourage everyone to apply this patch to ensure youre gameplay is made totallly unimproved.
A full list of new patch bugs can be found here ( insert buglist)
The reason for deploying this patch is that these contain more bugged python updates , the process of logging in is now 100% uselss. prepared tested and made sure u cant play this game leading to less players and less revenue.
The following post downtime period will mean no one can play afte rlaunching the available patch, please click yes to stuff up youe gameplay. To uninstall where do we go i mean the entire game anyone ?

It is downright bad business, the sense is that they arent communicating and just shovling rubbish out the door for us to consume.
The fixed bugs just make more bugs, the main programmers ae off working on SS titanic incursion version 1.18 or something giving us more half finished rushed rubbish. Main server is going to hell and back i wonder if overall subscriber numbers are droppping yet ..... if its not fixed soon it will no amount of massive PR budget will help them on that one

The offical boring please test our brand new optional bug program.
So can we get say 10000 skillpoints for the unforeseen bugs in this everything fixed patch
Offical explanation forthcoming we shall wait and see, probabbliity of a dev loot drop on this one about 10%, the solution and the alpha testing should be done by QA not the paying playing customer base
I should be able to load game up start it up and log in not be stuck for whats going on 4 hours now trying to get in this is getting old fast.
Just shovel another bug fest in our face tomorrow ccp lets go hehehehehe

This does look like an incompentent newly created UI team doesnt it, hope their junior development manager can learn quickly otherwise ccp are gunna loose $$$
- the refactoring of new code without decent testing is a ccp trademark panic attempts at fixing problems yup nothing to see here.
Retract the patch nope ccp is always a mvoe forward organisation a bit like some politicans going backwards just doesnt work
The optional beta testing patch is being pushed upon everyone and they are automatically mostly going for it which makes it even worse as more players are coping the rubbish and cant play
End thoughts get a senior developer on this who has a half wit of a clue instead of no idea at all

I can confirm the debacle video is correct, the illistrated problems are without explanation from senior CCP staff continue
The music is great about about something broken something borrowed something blue ?
SOmething stable something working something not being alpha tested something clearing QA first instead of being shovlled out the door like horse manure. Anything else well nothing to add yet just get the game working so paying players can play

Until it's resolved if you strip your ship and refit each module individually it goes away.
I actually haven't had that happen since the second patch.
this i was able to confirm on the last working version before last nights debacle. Now just logging in is an issue

Have you checked your shortcut settings? By default close window is bound to Ctrl-W while closing the game is bound to Ctrl-Q, you can change the shortcut bindings in the Esc menu on the Shortcuts tab.
that would fix it but
how about logging in and either disconnecting, socket closed or character select screen hanging ( btw i can load the sis client with no dramas at all) and am playing happily still would be nice to be able to get onto TQ this year not next
so i can confirm its not my isp and its eve side that the problem exists care to reply ccp

The biggest problem you have is that not every user is having the same problems. Admittedly some wont have d/l patch #4, but some will have. The longer you go on releasing patches which install on an individuals client, the more mess this will probably lead to. if this is the case we need one st able patch that updates it all to one standard and then go from there. At the moment a lot of us are just plain unable to login, TQ is not stable, bug reports arent working even so cant even go there

It is worth nothing that the updates are incremental, so each new update will contain all the previously released updates as well.
It is worth noting peoples that the updates or no updates even beign incremental are just not working and contain bugs that prevent any login, TQ keeps going to unknown disconnects are occouring left right and centre and mroe updates are only just going to compound the issue.
Ive got an idea lets make this a required not optional patch push it upon everyone and then see how many people are able to login any chance of that happening ?

but patch #4 has recreated bugs with my client that patch #3 had cleared. 
please explain to me how that has happened, preferably in words of 1 sylable as obviously im too thick to comprehend it.
Patch 4 has made the game unplayable patch 3 was tolerable patch 2 worked, patch 1 was a dodge.
Please also explain the TQ status unknown issue for some of us, living in australia if that helps

No - that is impossible - everybody knows that optional patches are not optional! You know, if people would just install the patches they like, that would be a total mess - in no way CCP would allow this.
That would result in only one or two millions of different combinations of hardware / software with just a few optional patches - of course nothing that CCP can't handle.
And dont forget:
Providing optional patches is a known strategy to provide optional bugs, this way the users can build very new clients with different features just be mixing the various optional patches.
well the devs obviously have no answer for me so i have 4 and installed inremental i have uninstalled and reinstaleld and im still getting the same issue im thinking there is something else on TQ that is preventing abotu 5-10% of players from juts logging in and if they get into game it crashes out pretty well mcuh straight away

I wasn't aware of a crash issue related to large mail boxes, nor an issue with TQ switching to unknown state, but I will investigate.
lets put it this way login ok screen comes up enter password fine sometiems status shows 33000 players sometimes unknown ok sometiems its hanging or crashing from here.
Im trying this every 2 minutes now if im lucky to get to char selection it either loads the name but not the pics if it loads the pics i can spam click on enter game and the toon and nothing happens and its very very slow ( SISI is working clear as a bell and i have plenty of net speed so no its not that)
Ive gotten into game twice the instation screen loads once i was able to type something bu tthats as far as ive gotten before the game comes crashing out like all and nothing a sundry

yes dont take it to heart but plz do get ccp peeps onto this im not the only one reporting this probably the only one posting at the moment, now getting socket is closed errors. Common peeps ify oure having problems logging in post here theres been other threads started so im not the only one here, is there naything we can do to attempt to assist u guys in fixing it ?

It sounds like you're having internet issues if you're getting an unknown status for TQ.
Level3 has been having trouble today with some of their routers, so if your path to TQ happens to cross one of those routers, that may explain why you're having so much trouble loging in today.

Provided the route to sisi is the same as the route to TQ.
valid point i guess a traceroute woudl determine that running that at the moment. Im in game it hung in station no channels or anything for about 2 minutes and its just crashed

Ping rates are good so im not sure just keeps hanging got disconnected again very very strange

Can you give me a specific example of this?
ok im running this log server thing where would i send this information ill run it for the next hour give me a webpage address and indsturctions on how to save capture send the log etc if that helps

Stuff this cancelling my subscription been playing for years but this is a bloody joke if ccp cant get it right youve lost another customer
For the bulk data issue you are describing please file a stuck petition with the GMs. They should be able to help you populate the bulk data.

managed to get it to 38/46 seems to be as slow as anything would there be any bulk data that large ? what is bulk data anyway + i had to basically completely reset all settings so far

ANother update managed to get in after a full reset everything loaded held for about 5 minutes and has crashed again. So its either the net ccp or my end...... i wonder which
TQ server status keeps going back to unknown i think thats causing the issues

off to play star trek online somethings wrong my nets fine, ive reset fiddled changed can log in it keeps timing out i dont know if its node related, ccp related but there seems to be some interest in other minor issues but ccp dont seem to be onto some of us not being able to connect or patch unstable connections so ill try tomrorow

No, that bug appeared after last big content patch (dominion?) and got fixed on next downtime (same as Empty Assets window), it was reintroduced now with Tyrranis and "optional" patches only fixed jumping, but not undocking part of it, and when I say fixed i mean masked (because there are many instances of stuff being duplicated, like killlog for example)

NO, container placement does NOT work, every single NEW container (you can test by just buying new containers in the station, assembling them and opening) is opened with default position and size. It used to be per container TYPE, not unique item number. Im guessing this patch #4 will make a MESS out of core_user_xxx.dat as EVERY SINGLE container you open now has to be logged there with coordinates.

When you say addressed you mean masked by pulling data twice ONLY when jumping, Shame developers that did this "fix" didnt know session changes happen also when undocking. Not to mention pulling data twice is no fix at all, real fix would be to investigate why the data corruption happens in the first place during session change instead of reinitializing it.

Hire QA thats competent. I was able to reproduce 100% of Tyrranis bugs that were reported here in under 20 minutes after first login. Someone in CCP wasnt? And cleared the code as working? and STILL is unable to reproduce them?
again: Killog has tons of duplicated entries, its clear as day to anyone who ever played eve after 2 seconds of looking at it, all you have to do is look. QA is supposed to look everywhere. If QA doesnt see bugs like this its time to change QA. If QA sees the bugs but management pushes the code its time to change management :)
more i think a resource issue going on incursion and theyve had to redeploy for trynaiis to fix some pretty big bugs
