Just came back to eve after a long break(bout 2 years) and was searching for a vaga fit. Everything seems to be more or less the same when it comes to vaga fits; But it still seems like speed it king when it comes to solo pvp. The only problem I have ever had with my vaga is being able to perma run my MWD. I know if you drop a LSE and put a cap bat in a mid slot you can perma run it but that cuts a hell of a lot of survivability.
So I guess my question is has anyone ever tried to run an AB on a vaga? I know what your thinking and i said the same thing to myself but I was playing around with EFT and got some interesting fits. If you dropped the MWD for an AB you could potentially fit 425s in the highs with 3 gyros and 2 TEs in the lows(u would get the same tracking as 220s without TEs). Now that's all well and good but the reason we came here is speed. and I must say the AB vaga doesn't go to fast. Around 1.1KM/s Pretty slow. But a set of snakes and a faction med AB would put u up around 1.2-3KM/s. Still not that fast but being able to orbit at 20KM 1KM a sec without having a HUGE sig radius and not running out of cap would be nice. But that brings up a question. Would you be able to hit anything with your 425s while orbiting at those speeds? Obviously it depends on the ship your shooting at but lets say its a BC.
Any thoughts on this subject?

You want to use a MWD in bursts when you need it and your cap should never deplete unless you getting hit by neuts. Perma running a MWD will give you a battleship sized signature while moving at 1km+ speeds. If you try an AB, you will loose once your webbed 2-6 times, have had a dominix top out at 3m a sec in mission spaces with an AB on . With a MWD, you can still get some pretty decent speed when you need to get back through a jump gate.

Whole lot of words for a very stupid idea.
No, you don't use an AB on a Vagabond. ___________________

The reason you don't perma run a MWD on a vagabond, is because it affects your tracking as much as it affects theirs - with the added drawback that their signature isn't being inflated, whilst yours is. You therefore use it to maintain range on your target, by pulsing it. Not flat out, flying in circles and missing every time.

Dont listen to him, he has obviously never used vagabond in game and is just upset because EFT says AB vaga is slower than MWD vaga. With AB you are scram immune, that is huge, with mwd vaga you have to be careful about getting in close to enemy because you can get scrammed, but you dont have to worry about that with AB. And like you said, its cap stable. This is the second important part, it means you can just keep orbitting them forever which might be absolutely critical at times. Im suprised that this has not been thought before, i think you might have found the next big thing.

The thing is hes not wrong, and if you find it that funny you need to get out a bit more :P It might be a good idea for new vaga pilots, ive seen a hell of alot of them that dont have a clue how it works and end up scrammed and webbed within a few seconds, this idea would definatly help these pilots. I would never dream of using one myself though, i think i know what to do with it.

If you re not able to dictate range and keep out of blasters, any brutix or even a taranis will pulverize you.
