I have noticed while running sleeper sites with large battleship gangs that sleeper's almost completely ignore drones. but while running them with small gangs of 1-2 they decimate drones, and attempting to run them solo in my carrier is terrible for my poor drones. so what is the magic number of ships before they start ignoring your drones?

My experience FCing in a C4 is usually about 6 people. But (rarely) they do still attack drones, just nowhere near as much as when you have fewer.
The exception is ECM drones, which ALWAYS die within the first 20 seconds. ----------------------

Yeah ECM makes sleepers VERY angry...you could fit an ECM on your ship and use it to distract/tease the sleepers so that they hopefully ignore your drones

3+ and the Sleepers will rarely target your drones. Plus the more support you have, logi, ewar, the more the Sleepers will concentrate on that. Could be good or bad because lots of support ships don't have the tank to handle sleepers.

Ah thanks for your replies. I was considering a 2x Archon 1x Thanatos gang for blitzing a wormhole. The third carrier would collapse the wormhole. They could carry in a medium pos with guns / fuel, and scanning ships and hacs for pvp in the ship maintenance array. The only thing I wasn't sure about is if there fighters would get destroyed when I try to use them in an anom.

I may be mistaken about this but I thought carriers in a WH spawned 6 more of the highest value Sleeper bs per carrier, which could be bad if you take 3 carriers in..

OP : I don't recall drones getting much attention with 6 ships. If i had to guess maybe 4 ships & the sleepers will be more inclined to switch between ships.
I don't understand the blitzkrieg comment without Dreads. Anyways its 6 Sleepless Guardian for Carrier #1 and 8 Carrier #2. Same sequence 6 + 8 for Dreads. 28 Sleepless Guardian is the max.

If by bad you mean hilarious then yes, yes it is. Please do this, jump into a sleeper site with 2 archons and 1 thanatos. Also, please record the vid

sleepless guardian dps=625 X 14 = 8750. weakest tank of the three carriers is 10091. total dps. 2916. so as you can see the only issue is the fighters, will they get targeted immediately?

I could be wrong but it seems the sleepers mainly go after the ship that cause most damage. Hence, using only drones will render them to mostly attack drones.

Sleepers go for the weakest tank rr or highest DPS witch ever is the most threat to them if you main damage comes from drone the will be Primed first cause the have the weakest tank and highest DPS. so with this said your fighters/ bombers will be targeted first for carriers I have done a few WH ops with my corp and that seem to be the case is that they go by threat level of all the targets around them

We did this yesterday on the test server. worked great till we got through about 5 sleepless guardians then they just went crazy after out drones, sentrys were getting wasted before we could even tell them to engage target. =/

Soon sleepers will be neuting properly. When they get that ability fixed, I suspect we'll get a few angry capital pilots on the forums.

Just read the OP more carefully... have you really already tried to bring a carrier solo into an anomaly? Was this in a C5/6? Cause if so, it's not your drones I'd be worried about the sleepers eating alive.

ya this is the reason we are on the test server atm, unfortunately they turned the neut/nos effect back off and we are unable to test it. if they keep it off, or the nos/neut effect isn't as hardcore as i fear, we may attempt to drop some well buffered bs in after we kill the initial 5 guardians. if not to get them off our drones, at-least to kill the remaining guardians. we were unable to do this yesterday as it was just me and one other guy who was dual boxing the archons.

Paridoth, where do you find wormholes on sisi? I'd like to dump those bonus SP on sisi into a T3 and see how it fares against sleepers, but the last time I went looking for wh on the test server they were nowhere to be found. Are they as prevelant on sisi as they are on TQ? I basically wasn't able to find any last time I checked. |

abha is the lowsec entrance to the c5 that i am in. its about 10 jumps from dal which is properly seeded, and has a class three hole in it.
