4 to 5 billion per moon.
So 72 Venal tech moons are worth something around 300 bil a month. |

Too much, and I say this as both an NC member and a private stockpiler. Moon poo needs to be rebalanced.

This just proves that CCP loves the NC and hates the other 0.0 alliances out there.

The problem is market manipulation, which could be resolved by giving moon goo a shelf life and varying quality levels. Once an r64 is created/ticked it will be a pristine quality that'll last one or two weeks, then it will decay into a middle quality and then a low quality. This would motivate the holders of all of the moons to sell it quickly or lose iskies. You could also modify the intermediate/advanced input amounts based on the quality of the chemical structure of the moon goo, pristine, blah, blah. This would do more than the laughable alchemy ccp tried to implement.
To hold onto r64 material to spike demand is human, but to gripe about it is humorous. :)

No. People stockpiled it because they knew the daily supply in wasn't going to meet the daily demand out until the price was very high.
Traders may impact the variability as the price climbs, but that climb is inexorable and self-propelled as long as the t2 component tables remain imbalanced. I empathize with the developers trying to find a way to balance moon mins, but it's a beast that they created in the first place, so my sympathy is minimal.

If you modify supply or demand, it's called market manipulation.
Until CCP decides to spends some time to make it unattractive to "hold" for extended periods of time, it'll always be an issue. It's basic economic theory, so it's amazing that the head economist hasn't mentioned to CCP that something needs to be done.

There are quite alot more tech moons than there are dysp moons though. So in that way it more than balances (not quite the ideal word to be using here) out.
