Hey there!
Just a noobish question:
How rare are those officer spawns and high end faction items like X-types? What are the chances of people getting enought of them so you can see plenty of those up for sale in the forums and in the sell orders?
I have been wondering for a while where do these big sellers get all of them? And as an old GM/Admin from another game that I got deeply dissappointed have thoughts on that, but wouldn't want to voice them out without proper evidence.
I have been talking with several players that can be considered "old"-players and only one or two of them has ever seen an officer spawn. So does anyone have any figures on the percentile chances of those buggers popping on your screen for your pleasure and heavenly isk?

I know some people who live in 0.0, and they get officer spawns fairly regularily. Of course, chaining helps.

The people putting up plenty of these are likely to be resellers.
The comments and links in this thread should give you some idea.

Chaining is NOT the way to go if you want a lot of faction/officer spawns

X-type can be pretty easy to farm if you're good (well speed is the trick) at scanning and can keep checking enough systems to do plexes one after the other.
But yeah, people with tons of officer items are probably almost all resellers (or people with "automated" ratting ships + insane luck  )

Ah i wondered where correstwo went to. It also explaines the increased fail resellers entering the officer market. There is no possble way he could have made 100b in 8 months. Its a lie. It is a very slow market with allot tricks and ups and downs. Most new people lose isk on it because it is such a difficult market,
