only when I can get a 1TB drive to replace my current 1TB "regular" drive that doesn't cost úlol will I switch to SSD.
I absolutely HATE having more than one drive/partition - there really is no point whatsoever on a home system. That's what folders are for!
My Steam folder is about 300GB atm, so no point getting a drive that won't fit that lot on it otherwise I won't get any benefit to the SSD whatsoever...

Happy owner of an Intel X-25M G2 here.
Those interested in buying one should wait a few weeks because the next-gen Intel, Indillinx and SandForce controllers will be released soon, creating a whole new generation of awesomeness.

Funny my WD black 1tb is pretty darn quite, you get any gaming GPU and it will be much loulder than a HDD, yes SSDs are slient not gona say no to that, but... really the noise aint as much as you are making it out to be.

in ten years,we went from a 80 gig hdd,for max size,to just very recently 3,000 gig..
thats some cool beans there.
I'm wondering in ten years,if SSD will be cheaper than regular HDD?
will we be able to buy a 1tb hdd for what one would spend on a 100 gig hdd?
does anybody really remember the old 8 inch floppy's?

Meh, I'm going to wait until SSDs are pretty much standard, don't trust anything that hasn't been in pretty much standard for more than 2 or 3 years.
