A sixth optional patch for Tyrannis 1.1 will be deployed during downtime on Thursday, October 28 which will fix several issues reported to us following the release of Tyrannis 1.1. It also includes some fixes which were scheduled to be deployed in the fifth optional patch. While the patch is optional, we would encourage everyone to apply the update to ensure your gameplay is improved. A full list of updated patch notes can be found here.
The reason for deploying an optional patch is that these updates contain UI core fixes which are client-only changes in python. This process is much quicker to prepare, test and execute and allows us to prepare a patch much faster than usual. The EVE Online client remains usable whether an optional patch is applied or not.
Following downtime you will see a pop up box once the client is launched informing you that a patch is available and if you want to install. If you click 'Yes' then the patch will be applied and then you can log into Tranquility. If you choose 'No' you will log in to Tranquility directly but none of the fixes will be applied. If you clicked 'No' in error you can still apply the patch by going to the ESC menu, General Settings and apply the patch from the 'Install' button there.

Originally by: Seline Morgan the first patch hurt my EVE, the second patch hurt my first patch, the third patch hurt me so i uninstalled all the patches and everything works better now. everytime CCP puts together a new patch or upgrade i need a roll of duct tape to keep the universe from falling apart
Can you please give specific examples of things that worked before and then were broken after an update? Have you filed bug reports? The only confirmed example that I know of an update breaking something that was previously working is the one prior to this one, which was reverted immediately when the issues were discovered. There have been a few reports of the double overview issue disappearing and reappearing between updates, but it is more likely related to the circumstances of the issue occurring, rather than the updates as such. The update tomorrow will hopefully put that issue to rest once and for all.
Also I want to emphasize yet again that these are incremental updates, we wanted to start putting them out as soon as we could rather then to wait until we had every possible issue found and fixed. Each update adds a number of fixes on top of the ones previously released.

Originally by: Jason1138 ... the overview doubled every single object in space when you undocked...
it was chronic and re-producable and we had dev's sitting here saying it wasn't happening until literally the day they announced the next patch that was gonna fix the problem that they'd never admitted to having seen ...
We were absolutely not saying it wasn't happening, just that we weren't able to reproduce it. I know it's hard to believe when you're watching it happen consistently, but it's the honest truth. It's just very hard sometimes to replicate the sequence of events that may happen in a live environment. And I'm not talking about the sequence of buttons pushed but rather the sequence of server calls, updates coming in as other clients jump into the system etc., with network latency coming into play and so forth.

Originally by: Obsidian Hawk I get this bug regularly too, I undock and it gives me double gates, double stations etc. From my guess it has something to do with brackets. I say this because i have 2 overview tabs, one with brackets and one without and when i switch between the two the problem corrects itself.
And this is what is technically known as useful information

While typing my mail client has a problem typing each letter. There seems to still be a leakage issue somewhere.
Symptom: While typing an EVEMail my system seems to "stutter" as I type each letter and the game struggles to keep up to speed with my typing.
Unfortunately we are not yet comfortable with releasing the fix for this issue since it involves a lot of changes to the edit field.

Ok, filed: 102611
Thanks, I see now what you were talking about. It seems to affect only some resolutions, I will follow up on this.

Originally by: Tathyn Well I don't know if the double overview is fixed on my client yet as I'm not somewhere that docking and undocking is happening very often but ...
If the corporation window is open and the assets tab selected, the corporation window will jump in front of all other windows on jumping or docking/undocking. The personal assets window does not behave this way, and the corporation window stays put if on any other tab. Should I bother filing a bug report as the one I filed on 10.05 about the next issue hasn't even been looked at yet?
2nd issue (bug report filed 10.05 ... not filtered) - When filtering corporation transactions using the "buy" or "sell" filters, the results that show are from 9.29. This is actually a change, for the first two weeks they showed 9.22. Transactions appear properly when "both" is selected, and they show properly when filtered using "buy" or "sell" under the personal wallet transactions tab.
Cache has been cleared repeatedly, repair run twice.
The attention seeking behavior of the corporation window has been confirmed to be a pre-existing issue (from before Tyrannis 1.1), it will be sent to counselling sessions and hopefully learn to behave more appropriately in the future.
I'll follow up on the transaction issue, even though the bug report shows up as unfiltered it doesn't necessarily mean it hasn't been looked at, but I'll make sure.

Originally by: Raukho Declined the update by accident. Then the old update got deleted without having the option to cancel. Try to update by hand is impossible because the client is already up to date with the latest version.
After logging in, go to Esc menu and in the middle column of the General Settings tab you should have an option to install the update.

All the complaints with the patches, i rarely had any issues before the patches. I have not done the optional patches for the last two as issues made my client worse, mainly I'm laggy as hell when i was doing PI and the overview all messed up that i have unloaded the patches.
I decide to try this current patch, crossing fingers, nope no good. Overview still a mess with doubles and not sorting as i fly through space to what is nearest at the top.
An now in PI in planet mode, i see all the brackets based upon what overview tab i have selected. That really sucks when a bracket is in the way of a harvester i am trying to reset.
Was this intended and if so, what is the purpose?
anyway, i am uninstalling this "optional" patch again. Thankfully i only did it on one of my many accounts.
If you still have the update installed, it would be very helpful if you filed a bug report and included a log file that captured the issue occurring. The latest update has added logging so that should give us some new information. Also screenshots can be very helpful.

Oh come on. Stop treating your customers like idiots. I reported the EXACT SAME ****ING ISSUE OVER A WEEK AGO (and I wasn't the only one). But now this is all of a sudden useful information? Are you ****ing kidding me?
My account is paid through November. After that, I'm done. A year and change, nothing more to be seen here except for a ****ed company waiting to die.
Well I apologize, this was just supposed to be a kind of joking way to point out that this contained relevant information as opposed to "OMG IT'S BROKEN NOTHING WORKS". I haven't been personally working on this issue, so I don't have in my head all the information provided in bug reports but the programmers actually working in the issue do.

Originally by: Tonto Auri Do you also need a new log for #101531, or logging was added specifically to overview?
I don't think we need more logs for that issue but if we do I'll let you know, it's being looked at.

Originally by: Vox Noctis This last patch finally resolved nearly all of the windows position and resizing problems. Station containers and info windows work like a charm now.
Good to hear.
Originally by: Vox Noctis
I'm still having a problem with wrecks remembering their window size and positions though. They are all still cascading from the middle of the screen no matter what I tried. I thought it was suppose to be fixed with the Oct 5th optional patch.
"Wreck windows will no longer open in the center of the screen, but in the same location as the last moved window, or any stack of wrecks."
Yes the behavior of windows when you do 'open cargo' on wrecks was fixed, but apparently salvaging windows still have a mind of their own. I'll see to it that they get tamed as well.

If your goal was to run CCP out of business i honestly cannot think of a way that you guys, as a group, could be closing in on the goal faster than you're doing right now
Again I'm sorry, I was just trying to lighten up a bit, I won't do it again. But my point is, when people give us information like this, we actually do appreciate it and we do use it in the bug hunting. Things like what other windows do you have open, are you in a fleet, is there something you do to make the problem go away. And screenshots are extremely valuable. So no mocking or disrespect intended, just wanted to encourage people to give us concrete information. And even though I'm not one of the programmers working actively on the problem, I am one of the people gathering information and passing it on. And yes, I am a programmer.

Wait what? Do you even play this game? What is a "salvaging window" ???? Windows position and stacking on things that are opened for the first time is NOT FIXED.
The window that you get when you open the cargo container after salvaging the wreck. If you open cargo on the wreck itself, the windows behave properly but the salvaged containers do not.

Also the private chat windows do the same as the container windows. Please Please Please take a look at both.
Yes I will make sure to follow up on both.
