Today is Sunday.
Like most (I assume) I spend most of the day doing as little as possible. Time to think, then.
What are your 'little pleasures'?
I'm talking about the things which are small, simple; but make a huge difference to your day.
Doesn't have to be Sunday, either.
Maybe it's the sound of the newspaper hitting your door; it could be the small shapes of the bubbles as they glide down the side of a tall frosty glass of beer; maybe watching the way butter melts on a muffin, destined for your belly. It could even be the feel of something, like the smoothness of a handrail.
What am I missing? What means the most to you?

After work/workout. Going to a shade with a tall glass of something cold. Seeing the moisture forming on the surface of the glass. Taking that glass in hand and feeling the soothing wetness against your skin and taking a long drink from the glass feeling revitalized. Then letting out a long sigh of relief and just being there for a few seconds doing nothing. |

Rolling out of bed late, then taking a long hot shower so the whole bathroom steams up. After that's all done I get out my straight razor, shaving brush, mug and soap and have my self a nice long relaxing shave. Then finish it off with some nice heavy mentholated after shave, to really wake me up.
Damn I just feel awesome right now! |

End of the day poop? I usually only ever get the first in the morning and the occasional mid day. I have honestly never heard to a "end of day" poo till now.

If the most entertaining you can find to do with your MX-5 is sniff the seats your missing the point
The rare moments you escape the traffic and get to put your foot down, makes all the big bills and generally temperamental behaviour worth it.

Smells are interesting. I like the smell of cotton; leather always seemed a little 'strong' for my liking. GÇ£You go into combat, and itGÇÖs NOT going to be WagnerGǪindustrial techno or really hard drum and bassGÇ¥ Reynir Hardarson, founding member of CCP Games, 2002.

The smell of vanilla.
Wind on a warm evening.
The night sky (okay, so that's technically not little...)
The feel of grass.
Yeah, for an avowed geek, I rather love the outdoors. I just never lost that sense of wonder when I look at nature. The Skunkworks is recruiting. -áhttps://forums.eveonline.com/default.aspx?g=posts&m=1540711#post1540711 |

Mini kievs with beans, feet up and a good movie. Also the smell of cut grass and the feel of a cool breeze through my bedroom window on a hot summers night.
Oh... and great sex. Really great sex, with my window open and after Mini kievs.

good coffee in the morning (french-press); the smell of seared meat in duck fat; the taste of fresh seafood (when it tastes like the ocean) - never understood why people like fish that doesn't taste like fish; spending all day in my pj's; playing in the desert; making bonfires larger than my house; enjoying a Stone Pale Ale after a warm summer day; taking to boat out in the evening and playing on the water 'till midnight; waking up next to the Mrs.; spending all night babysitting a brisket and drinking with friends; playing in the mountains; the milky way; green lasers and smoke; loud rock'n roll (when you can feel more than hear the music); carnitas; tending the garden in the evening... |

I think i like the end of the day. Jumping into the bed, cold sheet against my warm body for a few seconds is a delight unti lit begins to warm so i squirrel around catching the cold till its all gone.
I also usually catch myself thinking "today i didnt die" too. Something there no doubt worries someone.
Situationally, in day time, it used to be getting in the car and when safe and alone - just flooring it, taking the bends a little faster until you know you cant risk it further, lopping of the passing 60 time with better and better pulls from junctions etc.
Yeh i wanted to race. Yeh im sensible. Yeh i know you can get caught out.
