Originally by: Hawk TT It used to be, but currently Sisi runs Tyranis 1.2 Beta - after Tuesday's patch (Nov 2nd), CCP will bring back the Dev Build with the new Character Editor and all the Incursion Exapnsion Beta stuff...
Originally by: Tank CEO Is the new avatar creation for new expansion on singularity?
After seeing some videos Im really impressed with the new character creation... even though it wasn't completed. I just hope I can retain my resemblance of my current avatar with the new creator. Man i can't wait to mess around with it!!
Also, I heard that with the new expansion you will be able to remap your attributes before the 6 month period if you buy a PLEX. Is that unlimited? Would I be able to reset my attributes every time I buy a PLEX or does it only work once in a 1 year period?
From what limited I've read it seems you'll have to pay with plex each time you want to do an extra remap.

Hmm, you know I like the feature, but I also think there should be some kind of limitation. Maybe like only allowing this feature to work once every 3 months. But then again I haven't paid for eve with real currency in 4 years so it definitely is on my side. Although, I have a lot of skills maxed, and im fairly close to having all combat related skills maxed to level 5 except for capital, so the 6 month limitation doesn't bother me. I guess I want other people to have to go what us vets went through... only seems fair =P

Edited by: Ghengis Tia on 01/11/2010 15:14:49 My concern about the Sansha part of incursion is how pervasive will it be? Do you have to hang around a trade hub for weeks to maybe be part of the action? Will incursions be in all systems randomly, or is there some minimum number of persons in local that will trigger the event?
I was in Penirgman and an incursion happened, only to find out you had to send out probes to find the deadspace pocket it was occuring in. As far as local was concerned, hundreds of thousands of innocent civilians were being uprooted in time frames of 15-30 minutes (apparantly the Nation has its logistics very finely tuned).
The system was quiet, and the realism of the event, with local full of bulletins, was cool other than the fact it was all occuring in deadspace, and the planets "under siege" weren't the planets in the sytem. It all just didn't make sense to me, as the immediacy of the situation alluded to in local was not happening in local space.
I've a feeling that if this is the model, the majority of Eve players will only hear of the events, and unless they're in or near a trade/mission hub and have the right ships available they won't have a chance to get in on the fun.

Here is how it works. In incursion systems, your offensive and defensive abilities are reduced (IE enviromental WH effect). There is also a "War Tax" on missions, reducing their rewards. Stations seem unnefected, and all incursions are in deadspace pockets marked by beacons.

I think it's safe to say that there will never be any new learning skills.
Malcanis' Law: Whenever a mechanics change is proposed on behalf of "new players", that change is always to the overwhelming advantage of richer, older players. |
