Calamari have the ugliest, though more remodels like the Scorpion had will help. Angel ships are purty though.

The Minmatar Rifter, Probe and Tempest are all excellent looking space ships. Wherever you went - Here you are.

What really looks like crap are most of the cammo paint jobs. For example, the scorpion looks much better than the SNI or the RS. The Domi looks better than the navy Domi etc etc. The Navy Mega actually looks cool tho IMHO. Also the Orca is hot. I like fat girls.

Matari ships are my favorite though. Maelstrom fit with repeating arties really reminds me of an antique pirate ship... Sails and broadside guns and such :_)

Their ships have that whole "oppressive war elements of a theocratic slavedriving empire" feel to them. I'm surprised there aren't more churches sticking out of Amarr ships. Amarr ships should be battlechurches.

Just can't controll that for me. Galentte look really cool with a mix of smooth shape and erie space asethic. I think they're really cool. BUT a lot of them do look a little to bulbous to me Minmatar look pretty bad ass. Caldari/Minmatar and Amarr/Gallente. Caldari/Minmatar have edgy corners and flat surfaces, while Amarr/Gallente have round, curvy ships. Caldari/Minmatar are more industrial looking, while Amarr/Gallente are more organic looking. I like metal and heavy industries, so I generally prefer Caldari and Minmatar ships. My order would go like this: 1.) Caldari 2.) Minmatar 3.) Amarr 4.) Gallente Strangely enough I really like the Incursus/Enyo/Ishkur line of ships, but that's an exception.

Even tho my main is Amarr and I started out flying Amarr, the formula of cap rechargers in the mids and the need to use CCC1 rigs for everything, with damage limited to EM/Thermal, got real boring. I prefer function over form, and rarely if ever fly Gallente ships, as they're basically armor tanked disembodied organs IMHO. To each his own, as the variety of ships in Eve is somewhat amazing when you look at them as a whole.

Amarr look like boats, which makes no goddamned sense, Caldari look like buildings (with a couple exceptions) or outrigger boats (which make even less sense). Minmatar come a close second, because while Gallente boats really reflect a design free from the constrictions of planetary life (gravity, aerodynamics, coherent traditions, etc) Minmatar boats really reflect the idea that resources in space are rare and difficult to extract with their 'recycle everything' look. --- If you outlaw tautologies, only outlaws will have tautologies. ~Anonymous

Tho I like the general shape of most Minmatar ships those scaffoldings are really ugly imho. Tempest for instance. A very nice form but ugly grids and plates over and over. But then...it just fits to the Minmatar background ^^ I'm really curious if this special design aspect of Minmatar and said Amarr ships will remain when the other ships will be redesigned! The Loki at least doesn't have any grids, plates or spikes attached. @OP: I prefer the the new Caldari style. Tengu and Scorpion hull. Looks very dark, clean and high tech. It's not very hard to design better looking ships, look at the "design a spaceship" contest. They not only wanted a harsh and cold world but also an ugly world. Strange people, those Icelandic devs! Next to that a lot of ships don't seem to be very solid. A lot of Minmatar ships don't look like they can handle a lot of G-forces or asteroid collisions, yet alone surive warp drive acceleration. What that's concerned I'd say: REALISTIC : Gallente/Amarr -> Caldari -> Minmatar : UNREALISTIC So no, EVE ships definitely don't look realistic. Most do really defy the laws of aerodynamics. Some may say it's not needed because space is mostly vaccuum but EVE space definitely isn't.
