Edited by: Urfin on 08/01/2005 01:31:04 Edited by: Urfin on 08/01/2005 01:29:45 Here's first fitting tests. Relevant skills maxed, except HAC lv3 and Med pulse spec lv4.
First thing - pure gank. 4 HPL II, 7 sinks, nothing in meds (didn't have tracking comps near).
484 DPS @ 13km (without resists accounted for, of course), cap/grid/cpu to fit tracking/sensor booster and run infinitely. 1k armor, standard assault resists, pretty much dead if anything shoots it.
But that's expected and not a surprise. Now the interesting part.
Tank setup, very carebear and not optimised.
4x HPL II, web, 1 med nos, 1 med rep, 4 hardeners, 15% rechargers, CPR.
All armor resists 80% (+-1%)
Infinite cap with all running, can resist 1 med nos with cap II (prolly forever, too lazy to calc now).
200 DPS @ 13km optimal
Methinks tanking a zealot seems quite a bit more than sacrilege :) Outright herecy more like it.

Edited by: Na'Axin on 08/01/2005 01:55:08 uhm... yes
except... like...
you got ONE repairer....
and the sacrilege has...
well..
2
btw sacrilege with 3 HPLII's and 3 arbalests has a DoT of 192.6/sec with multifreq crystals and tanks twice as well... (and yes it can take the nosferatu as well by just using the second repairer half of the time)
so if ur gonna set that zealot up like that... well.... you might wanna think about using a sacrilege instead

I never said it tanks better than sacri :) But it has roughly 40% more damage. I.e it has better tank/damage ratio. Lowering 2 resists to ~60% i can cram another rep in it, while still retaining the damage. Sacri can't overcome an average player BS tank while being tanked itself, while zealot can.
Sacri's great for pve of course, if a bit slow to kill BS spawns, but I just don't see a reason to fit guns on it with all that tank for pvp, except for shooting frigs/cruisers, which any BS/BC/inty/AF can do anyway. Noses/tackling/whatever would be more effective imo.

oh sorry, I got that idea when you posted:

my mistake :P
btw, a tanked zealot won't break the tank of decently tanked BS either, plus you'd be surprised how much damage can come out of 3 HPLII's and 3 arbalests
EDIT: scratch that part about tanked zealot not breaking a BS's tank, becuz with maxed skills I calculate a DoT for zealot of 289/sec, not 200 (granted though, 2 large accomodations and a thermal hardener will still stop that, but a sacrilege will be a lot less succesful, lol)

Edited by: Urfin on 08/01/2005 02:24:17 Edited by: Urfin on 08/01/2005 02:23:49 200 dps breaks a standard 1 large rep + hards tank, if it's not in the 80%'s on em and th.
Tested this on a blasterthron, with the above lousy tank setup. Orbited him at 5k. Chewed through the above tank, 90% of his shots missed, so i didn't even need my tank. He could create problems for me with a neut tho, without it he seemed to have cap problems with me nosing him. 1 heavy nos would have no effect on me, with my nos + spare cap cancelling it out.

Edited by: Na'Axin on 08/01/2005 02:19:09 true, noticed that when I tried it out on my CEO...
also noticed 1 med armor repairer can't keep up with 8 Tachs :P
honestly though, I like the zealot (true I like the sacri better, but that's personal opinion) but I like these discussion, cuz I really want to find out what's the best setup for it

i tried the following allround setup on my zealot: 4x HPL1 (named) 1x Med Dimi Nos
1x AB (named) 1x Fleeting Web 1x 20km Warp Disruptor
1x 55% Therm Hardner 1x 22,5% Adaptive Hardner 1x Med Rep II 2x CPR 2x Heat Sink II
Got a Rof of 2,5s and Damage around 6x with this setup. Although the speed is nice (500+ with ab) it makes a great all round PVP boat for anti (battle)cruiser fights. A megathron would kill me though, got half to his armor when mine was gone Still trying a setup with a 1600mm tungsten plate but even if i take out the Nos and put in a RCU I instead of a heatsink II (the plates comes instead of the 2nd Heatsink) i have too little PG. Perhaps with one of those super special 18%+ grid RCU's but those are way too expensive

Edited by: Urfin on 08/01/2005 03:02:24 Edited by: Urfin on 08/01/2005 03:02:14 Did a lv3 mission setup now, WAY WAY overkill but i do them in like 5-7 minutes now including cruiser looting and docking :)
320 dps 600m/s (10mn AB II) 1 med rep II, 1 th hard (all armor resists >=60%)
Only problem with this setup is, i don't get into armor if i'm not asleep, so tank is quite useless :)
Tried lv3 with a pure gank setup too, but that's just not funny, i can't target them as fast as i kill them, i'm beginning to measure damage in cruisers/minute, best i got was 6 then the mission ended

do you think a Vagabond would be able to take lvl 3 missions very easily (and fast) with Tech II stuff?

Edited by: Urfin on 08/01/2005 10:39:52 I haven't flown Vagabond, but i just don't see how anything even remotely comparable to zealot or sacri can fail to do l3 fast. Unless you fit it with smartbombs or something :)
Btw, for comparison, mega had 394 dps on him not including 1 cruise. So when i wasn't orbiting he was picking me apart pretty fast :) Large blasters can't hit much though, megapulse hit better all around, even while they have almost twice less tracking. Not right.
So a blasterthron with mwd+web should be able to own a zealot w/o mwd. Gank zealot + mwd, mega goes bang though :)

Think its perhaps time to train for an onerios...do we think that will out do a zealot when maxed? |

Got a new nice gank setup:
4x Heavy Modulated Pulse 1x Med Dimi Nos
1x AB II 2x Cap Recharger II
7x Heat Sink II
1.85s rof and 8,4x dmg mod
Or how about this semi-gank lvl3 agent setup:
4x Heavy Modulated Pulse 1x Med Dimi Nos
1x AB II 1x Fleeting Web 1x Cap Recharger II
1x Thermal Hardner 1x Medium Repair II 5x Heat Sink II
Little less dmg output: 2.05rof and 7,6x dmg mod but it can hold out a little longer on those multiwave missions.
BTW i got Medium Energy 3 ( ) and HAS 4 so i think that with techII guns and decent skills, a 10x dmg mod should be possible.

Yeah, i got very close to 10x dmg mod wit 7 sinks, HAC 3 and med pulse spec 4, so it should be possible. I'm guessing the DPS on a gank setup with max skills should be around 520-530.
