if 51 k per unit was bad there are quite few orders hitting 70 k plus and up to 90 k a unit. LOL I am feeling bad for any manufacturere who is using POSes and robotics for t2 production thats gona take a pinch or two.

TL;DR: Even at 100k per unit, making Robotics in high sec still isn't easy money.
Well... as my stockpile of pre-PI Robotics is diminishing I decided to have a go at making them myself. Using Louis deGuerre's excellent PI primer I set up a Robotics production plant on a high-sec plasma planet near my base.
1 elite command center (I had the skills trained since long ago but never used them yet ), 15 extractors, 4 basic processors, 3 advanced processors, 1 launch pad is what I managed to cram in there.
Running this on 96 hour period since I'm lazy... I just figured out this setup will produce a whopping 6 units of Robotics per day! Sure I probably made some noob mistakes but even if I managed to double the output it wouldn't be worth it.
* Switching from 96 to 24 hour cycles would double the output, but would also mean more work. * Moving to null sec would probably generate 10x the output but that's not an option for me today. * Using multiple planets to generate the materials in a more optimal way could probably triple the output, but it's more work. * Buying some of the materials would also be an option but that's also more work. * Running multiple planets... is also more work.
I will leave the conclusions to someone else.

In the end it's the consumers who pay the price. The producers will raise their rates. Ironically the consumers who are making more money by making robotics are paying a higher price for the goods they buy with that money.
I can't imagine anyone is doing T2 production without having a POS.

well robotics cost is only visible on pos fuel for small pos... for a large pos robotics are not even 17% of fuel cost.

The conclusions would be that you don't want to do the extraction in null-sec/low-sec which is the only place it makes sense to do so, nor are you willing to run 24 hour cycles or multiple planets making it even less likely to fullfill your pos fuel needs...
Anyway, cons.elec hasn't been traded in any significant volumes for over a week now... Get them while you can, soon all those robotics builders will run out again and raise the price.

Eh I spend a lot of my time staring at mining lasers, so running PI even in high-sec is a no-brainer. A few 5 hour cycles and some hauling (orca pilot makes it easy) and I'm golden.

That's the same question I've been asking myself... Why oh Why are people selling their robotics so damn cheap?

Fortunately, I've gone ahead and acquired some more from distant lands that hadn't quite caught up to Jita prices yet. Took me FOREVER to haul them back... but I'll set a little higher return on them this time... I wonder how long before we hit 80k. Hopefully quite soon!

I sold a couple of months ago at 35K and some even as low as 30k. I'm not really too bothered as the isk i generated by the sale was invested into higher return items. Granted 100% profit on robotics over 2 months is a solid investment, but if you can turn 1bn into 3bn in the same time frame, why bother holding on to them?
Oh, i did hold on to just enough to fuel a pos for a year or so, so in the end, i am still saving isk.

I know I keep reminding you people of this... but it's only because I don't have the capital to fully take advantage myself, and of course i'm invested in the movement of robotics... but... uh... there are 25,000 units at 61K in Jita right now. Just thought everyone should know. ...

By chance I was cleaning up a station I hadn't visited in two years, and lo and behold, 25k robotics!
Christmas has come early!
Looks like I'm not the only dumping on Jita either, people are racing each other so fast on sell orders that the .01 isk game is now a 10 isk game and robotics is headed south back under 60k... ------------------------------------------

On a related note, I was also looking through my secret stashes (read: stuff I forgot about) and found 38k units of Consumer Electronics I had meant to trade some time ago. Christmas, indeed!

Ehm. Well consider this: Producing robotics since PI is an hard work, the old npc price is NOT matchable with the PI dynamics, so i guess as for ALL the new PI items (check the market and you will see) the price is raising since it will hit the roof. The old stockpile is probably finished. Where is the roof ? ....it's complicated. Consider this , as soon as the T2 items stockpile that need robotics to be produced will end too, what's gonna happen to those items prices ? It's not only a matter of pos fuel, people for example destroy a lot of drones :D So now the kick of robotics and other PI stuff has not yet reached the T2 items price but it will, sooner or later, it will.....i am waiting

It's not so complicated at all. It's just building price + a plusvalence caused by trading and speculation. The former may be calculated, for the latter you just have to read the graph.

That's an answer worthy of an Economist... Telling you everything you already knew, but nothing of what you needed to know.
Calculating the building price for the present is easy; if you can accurately predict it for the future then, and only then, will i be slightly impressed.

Look at the graph... both the previous spikes have dropped equally much in the week after. Sell now and someone is going to pick up your stock.

Someone is dumping large amounts of robotics in Jita today: stacks of 50k units at prices going down from 61444.44 isks to 55444.44 isks in 1k-steps. This happened 7 hours ago. Half an hour ago more such stacks appeared at exactly the same prices (60444.44 and 59444.44 isks) while there's 50k for sale at lower prices.
I can't see why someone drops such large stacks at the same prices as existing stacks, unless it's the same person.
If it's the same person I can't see why he's undercutting himself by 1k-steps, and then later puts up additional stacks for sale at the same prices, while there's already enough up for sale for far lower prices. It's a manipulation scheme I can't easily see any profit in.
Who is dumping robotics at this scale?
(55k isks is still more than enough to pay for the mechanical parts and consumer elecs that I bought 2 months ago :)

I'll take it as a compliment, even if it was not meant to be so. I learned English by reading forums and basics of economy by playing EvE. Seems it worked!

1) If I knew the future, I'd be God. Sadly, I am not even Amarr, much less of divine birth.
2) For Technical Analysis (the one I use and linked, because I Can't afford spending hours in game), "accurate" numbers would be stupid to even try to get. It's a study on mass psychology of traders' greed and fear, try putting greed and fear in exact numbers if you can.
3) For Technical Analysis exact numbers are not even needed.
4) I am putting my time on a simplified, free "course". No way I am going to put more, my current RL would not even allow me if I wanted (hence the weeks between updates).
5) I don't make it to impress you. I make it to eventually gain money for me. If you don't want a free ride no someone else's work, I am not going to slit my wrists.
6) This is EvE. I am not posting here because of people's nice face, but because playing with a market I don't care for ATM I am hedging in another where I have heavy business . The strange thing is not me writing stuff, but you not imagining why . - Auditing & consulting

Yup, I bought a single robotics from him when I got the chance, so I also found his name. Guess he needed a quick few isks and cashed in on cheaper-bought stocks. It's indeed the only real reason I could think of. If I were him though, I'd have trickled the robotics a bit more into the market :)
Thanks for his name though :)
