Ladies & Gentlemen, I left EVE long before Titans and POS and alot of newer additions to the game some 2 years ago to play another MMO which I have now since quit, due to the playability is just too baby-ish...
So I decided to come back to EVE for my Sci-Fi fix. This last weekend, EVE lost connection due to a power outage for their ISP, our entire corp was engaged in The Blockade L4 at the time. About 5 minutes later we could log back in, and I was the first in, unfortunately we had gotten to the last wave of the mission with a few Battleships left from the previous wave. Upon autowarping back into conflict, my shields(I shield Tank) were gone, my armour was at 41% and none of my missle launchers had reloaded!!! I love my Drake, and I feel it can hold it's own, but my god, I had never gone POP so fast!! Albeit I was ****ed at losing my ship and promptly posted petition after the patch update when I could...
Let me state that, A: I was very skeptical at getting a response for my ticket after playing the "other" MMO where it has taken me over 1 mos to get a response for ingame tickets to be answered B: I had a strong feeling I would be given a "canned" response and not be returned the item(s) I had lost do to their ISP's unfortunate power outage.
I logged in today to do some quick PI and low and behold...the Ship, it's rigs and fit all there w/ a polite ingame notifaction and a pleasant response in the Petition menu as well...
TY EVE GM's...Thank you! Your timely service and customer support has definately confirmed my wanting to stay w/ this MMO and not go back to the "other" mmo again! Prompt service, and polite GM's!! Keep it up!

I have to admit Eve as a whole is taken seriously by the devs, I played Warpfire once, gave it up for lack of updates/expansions, I checked out warpfire again recently, still no expansion or update......after 4 years LOL Removed. Please keep your EVE signature related to your EVE persona or content directly related to Eve Online. Spitfire |

Ships lost in PvE are generally reimbursed if some server side problem caused the loss. Don't expect to get your ship back if you lose it in PvP, no matter if it's server side loss.
Welcome back.

ITS NOT A GROAN! I REPEAT IT'S NOT A GROAN! CALL OFF THE TROLLS!
@topic
Yeah as posted above CCP is good about replacing your ship if you lose it due to a server sided issue. Socket Closed doesn't count as such, though. ;o |

there's a sad reality in any business' public relations.
the dissatisfied customer's are often far more vocal, even if the satisfied customer's outnumber the angry ones by 100-1, the happy ones tend to quietly go about using the product, while the minority of upset ones tend to kick and scream loudly.
same thing as an Employee, when you have once angry Customer your boss hears about it, but he rarely hears about the 100's of happy ones that came before.
so +1 for being positive!
It's kinda a shame that I seem to remember it being against forum rules to Post conversations with a GM, otherwise it'd be nice to be able to give a shout-out to the GM that made a happy Customer, on the off chance that his boss sees this thread.

that's pretty much exactly what happened to me. During these last patches i had a client problem that led to me losing a ship in a mission, i petitioned it and it 1) took me 5 days to get an answer and 2) that answer was 'good luck replacing that ship'
from talking to other players here, my response was/is much more common than yours. So if it happens again don't get your hopes up
