Hey all, in need of some help.
Which Amarr BS would you recommend for Level4 missions?
I can fit all T2 mods bar weapons (hopefully should be finished in just under a month).
My aim is to run L4 missions as quickly as possible, not bothered about salvaging as I have an alt that can take care of that.
Any help would be great... cheers :)

t2 pulse laser?
Abaddon, navy apoc, apoc. I use all those.
BS 5 is cool btw :P
abaddon is like 8 t2 pulse with scorch high, cap re x 3 plus 100mn in mids large rep, em, therm hardener, eanm, heatsink, tracking, maybe a cap mod low cap rigs, etc.

I've seen people using all of them, to be honest.
But yeah, the Abbadon has more potential than the other two.

Apoc or Baddon. Apoc is loved due to it's optimal range bonus which goes great with scorch (T2) crystals in level 4's. The cookie cutter ship would be the Abaddon though as it has a very forgiving tank if you start out on level 4's. I missioned in it for months before I got a Paladin. Cap is an issue though. So you need some mods for that.
I started out doing level 4's with this as the most basic fit:
[Abaddon, Abaddon PVE 1] Large 'Accommodation' Vestment Reconstructer I Armor EM Hardener II Armor Thermic Hardener II Energized Adaptive Nano Membrane II Heat Sink II Heat Sink II Heat Sink II
Cap Recharger II Cap Recharger II Cap Recharger II Cap Recharger II
Mega Modulated Pulse Energy Beam I, Imperial Navy Multifrequency L Mega Modulated Pulse Energy Beam I, Imperial Navy Multifrequency L Mega Modulated Pulse Energy Beam I, Imperial Navy Multifrequency L Mega Modulated Pulse Energy Beam I, Imperial Navy Multifrequency L Mega Modulated Pulse Energy Beam I, Imperial Navy Multifrequency L Mega Modulated Pulse Energy Beam I, Imperial Navy Multifrequency L Mega Modulated Pulse Energy Beam I, Imperial Navy Multifrequency L Mega Modulated Pulse Energy Beam I, Imperial Navy Multifrequency L
Large Capacitor Control Circuit I Large Capacitor Control Circuit I Large Capacitor Control Circuit I
I also could use T2 drones at that time.
Ofcourse you also need crystals of other types to start doing damage at further range. Faction ones are really worth it though.
On some missions where you need to fly a lot: change a cap recharger for an AB (but watch your cap :P) On missions with a ****load of damage: swap heatsinks for more hardeners On some missions where the rats are far off, you can swap pulses for an incomplete set of Tachyon beams. Always check your mission first on Eve-survival.org for damage types and triggers As soon as you can, upgrade to faction/tech 2 repper and guns.
After that you'd want to be looking at a Paladin / Nightmare + tachs to mission effectively in Amarr space.

since you dont have skills for t2 large lasers, i would avoid pulses and go for beams. At this point the optimal bonus of the apoc comes in mind. That said also abaddon is often used and probably its' just matter of taste. Both are great ships.

Apoc is easier to fit and use on lower SP, the range bonus is effectively adding damage (as you can use shorter range ammo), it has more cap making up for any cap related skills you might not have maxed out. It's just less annoying to use. Once you have good SP and can fit T2 properly use an Abaddon.

I started with the Armageddon before I could use t2 guns and loved it. Tons of lows give you room for as much tank as you like, and it does so much damage once in range that you'll scare the neighbors with your maniacal laughing. You'll definitely want an afterburner.
I now fly the Apoc for missions, and with t2 Pulse Lasers, Scorch (t2) ammo, and BS V, My optimal range is out to just under 60km. That's obscenely far for pulse lasers. Once the rats cross that line it becomes a shooting gallery. At 40km, switch to Standard crystals and get your tracking back. Anything that makes it under 20km gets vaporised with Navy Multispec crystals.
Oddly enough, I've never flown the Abaddon. I fiddled with it in EFT and it didn't seem to be substantially better than the Apoc, so I've stayed.

The Apocalypse is good if you lack good capacitor skills, since it receives a bonus to capacitor use. The range bonus allows you to use more powerful crystals, which mitigates the lack of a damage bonus, although shorter-range crystals do use more cap. It's a pretty good ship for running level 4 missions, overall.
I've found that the Abaddon is superior to the Apocalypse if you have nearly-perfect capacitor skills, since it (1) can fit a more powerful tank, (2) has a damage bonus, and (3) has more powergrid for fitting heavier weapons and tank. However, you absolutely must have very good cap skills in order to make the most out of the Abaddon, else you will cap out very quickly, since the Abaddon does not receive a bonus to laser cap use.
In short, if you have the necessary cap skills, I'd go for the Abaddon just because it has the potential to deal more dps and to fit a heavier tank. Would stay away from the Armageddon, however. Excellent PvP ship, but not that good for PvE compared to the other Amarr battleships.

You have BS V but don't use a Pally? Why is this?

I actually have fell in love with the Navy Geddon, it has everything the Geddon is bad for in PVE.
It has way better Cap stability, more Grid and best of all you can bring 5 Sentry`s and still bring 5 Lights because bigger drone bay, its a poor mans NightMare.
[Armageddon Navy Issue, PVE SMall BEams/Sentry] Heat Sink II Heat Sink II Heat Sink II True Sansha Large Armor Repairer Reactor Control Unit II Armor Thermic Hardener II Armor EM Hardener II Damage Control II
Cap Recharger II Cap Recharger II Cap Recharger II Medium Capacitor Booster II, Cap Booster 800

Large Semiconductor Memory Cell I Large Auxiliary Nano Pump I Large Auxiliary Nano Pump I
Garde II x5
1048 DPS @ 30+20 485 DPS Tank swapp hardeners to liking. It has 8 Mins of Cap but really, I dont ever need to perma runner Rep`s so its as stable as the Tengu I run, With its Sentrys killing small stuff as they approach and your Beams just doing the same DPS as the Pally/NM almost its amazing.
Also I find with NM/Pally you are stuck with DMG type where as here almost 350 DPS is fully selectable in Drones, where as with normal Geddon you cant do it because you have no light dron room this makes all the diff.
861 DPS@ 53+20 and is cap stable with 485 Tank. Damn I love my ship, if you have drone skills like I did for Aeon but cross`d to Amarr this is a better choice than most.

Apoc should be the easiest option out of the three. Other can have some cap issues but TBH I would run even Apoc on injector for L4 missions. Hell, even my ravens run on injectors.
