I'm looking for a program that can show me what profits I made in a day by calculating total sales - estimated costs - tax.
Specifically I'd prefer a desktop app (non-webbased). Other features I'm not worried about because I built the tools to track everything else Ii care about, I just don't feel like figuring out the logic to properly track profit and didn't know if someone knew of a program that already did this.
I tried EVEdev, but couldn't find anything I liked. Originally I used EVEtrader, but the newest patch broke it. EVEnexus for some reason refuses to load on my system. All of the other options on EVEdev seemed to be web based.
Any help would be greatly appreciated, thx.
(again to stress, just looking for profit estimation, all other features probably won't get really used)

It sorta looks like what i was interested in, but looking at the screenshots it doesn't seem to give bulk profits in an easy to see view.
The balance sheet kind of shows what I wanted, but it seems to track more "what is my cash value at" than "how much did i sell on x day".
The graph from evetrader i used alot http://wiki.eve-id.net/images/thumb/EveTraderDashboard.png/800px-EveTraderDashboard.png
It doesn't need to be as "pretty" as that, but as long as it provides similiar info

See the trading forum, there is good news relating to EveTrader. A fix may well be on the way.
Also, it does still, sort of, work.

Doesn't the "Quick briefing" (menu "Wallet -> Quick briefing") provide the information you're looking for? -- EVEWalletAware - an offline wallet manager |

The quick briefing just gives total sales and purchases for that day, it doesn't give an estimation of what the profit of those sales are.
And yeah saw that eve trader post and hoping he gets a working fix soon :). It isn't slowing my sales, but it is nice to see that green number :) (also helps me watch to make sure i don't accidently start selling anything below cost, which i know t here is one item that i'm pretty sure i am)

You mean in the chart? Because in the grid it does so.
Don't get me wrong, I'm not trying to talk you into using EWA instead of EVE Trader. I'm looking for feedback and possible ideas on how to enhance EWA. -- EVEWalletAware - an offline wallet manager |

Edited by: Vanguard Refueling on 09/11/2010 13:54:31 Am i misunderstanding "Wallet Transactions past - 7 days"
It is saying on 2010-03-31 you purchased 67 million and sold 242 million.
This is fine if you sell everything you purchase in the same day.
What evetrader does is like http://evetrader.ado.me.uk/App_Themes/Images/UI2/Dashboard.png (not a great screenshot)
It calculates the cost of each sale that you make (without scrounging through the source code I don't know if he does "last in first out", "first in first out", or just averages the buy orders).
Take the 242 from your example, the total 242 million could of been made up of purchases made over the last month, as well as transaction taxes. If you say that the transaction tax was 2 million and the total cost of the goods sold was 200 million, then profit was 40.
So the difference between what you do and what this app does is you'd both show that you purchased 67 and sold 242, but then he'd show the 40million profit too.
The information yours gives is helpful, but not as helpful, like 2010-0-04, did you lose money, or do you just have some inventory sitting somewhere that hasn't sold.
I guess another way to say it, yours shows costs at time of purchase only, but his shows cost at time of purchase AND time of sale.

Ah, I see. No EWA doesn't do that. I know EMMA also tries to match purchases and sales, but when I first looked at the API, I decided to not do that, because there's no reliable way of matching those two. Let alone the fact of "suddenly" re-/disappearing items (reprocess, minerals used for production, Item acquired by direct trade (from your alt or corp mate), contracts, loot and what not).
It was and is my impression that this is a can of worms I'm not willing to touch, especially as EWA's build with the philosophy "no user input" (well, at least as less as possible).
If CCP adds a reliable way to identify items in transactions/journals, I'm willing to reconsider my approach. Until then I'll stick with the "real numbers" from the API. -- EVEWalletAware - an offline wallet manager |

Re-download and try again; a fix was made a day or two ago (without changing the version number) that got it working for me.

Yeah it works, and provides what i was looking for. Still like evetrader's presentation better so when that gets updated i'll go use that again, but nexus should work fine for the time being.
