Troll: They go to a farm with a big field where all the other abandoned and uncared for sell orders are sent to so they can run around and be cheerfully cared for.
Legit: They disappear and the escrow is released back to the person who listed the order, items you got for that order remain.

Where did you get that idea ?!? Because it's wrong. Orders don't care your account is active or inactive, they always work the same way. The only difference is you can't log in to cancel or update the order, but otherwise, everything about market orders remains the same as when the account was active.
P.S. I realized you probably misread the question in the thread title as "What happens to sell orders when the account they expire?" in which case you would be correct, but then again that's not what the OP asked.

Just posting to confirm that sell orders will remain active and will pay into your wallet even when your account subscription has run out. --

From my experience, they remain on the market and you can even track them with eve central.

Yeah I misread the title... it was too long of a title for me to read at that time... I thought it was "What happens to sell orders when they expire"

All market orders - buy or sell - work the same, regardless of the account status.
Sell orders stay until they're expired or fulfilled, buy orders until they're expired or fulfilled or - in case of margin trading - get canceled due to insufficient wallet funds. -- EVEWalletAware - an offline wallet manager |
