As far as anyone has been able to tell, it's not particularly like EVE, so no ù not much competition. ùùù ôIf you're not willing to fight for what you have in ≡v≡à you don't deserve it, and you will lose it.ö ù Karath Piki |

That would require them to make something different than a space-skinned WoW clone, which sounds wildly unrealisticà ùùù ôIf you're not willing to fight for what you have in ≡v≡à you don't deserve it, and you will lose it.ö ù Karath Piki |

Originally by: Selinate if another spaceship mmo that is any good comes out, it will provide competition for Eve, at least for the players who are annoyed with Eve or don't particularly like it, but play it because it's the only decent game in the genre.
But that's just it: Black Prophecy isn't the same genre, so good or bad, it's not a competitor.
àalso, if some game were to remove the kind of silly players who play a game they don't actually like, then I'd classify that as cooperation, not competition. ùùù ôIf you're not willing to fight for what you have in ≡v≡à you don't deserve it, and you will lose it.ö ù Karath Piki |

That's just a theme, not a genre. It's the same "genre" as EVE in much the same way as Ghost Recon is in the same genre as Jagged Alliance.
Quote: And there are folks who like the idea of being in space and exploring and such, but get tired of the way Eve is played. They might decide to leave Eve and go play a game that more suits their taste.
They would have left anyway, with or without this "competition". ùùù ôIf you're not willing to fight for what you have in ≡v≡à you don't deserve it, and you will lose it.ö ù Karath Piki |

Originally by: Selinate Of course you delete the rest of that first quote because it obviously explains what I said clear as day.... Typical.
Yes. It explains that they're not the same genre. Why are you so upset about this?
Quote: Obviously there are many people dissatisfied with Eve, but like space sims and mmos and would like a game like Eve but not so slow paced to fit their tastes, but they play anyway because it's the only decent space mmo out there right now.
Doesn't change the fact that playing a game you dislike (much less paying for it) is downright stupid.
Quote: I'm quitting before this starts. Again, you show the lack of intelligence needed to keep up with a conversation...
Not my fault that you don't even know the meaning the simplest words and have too short an attention span to keep track of what you've said. Idiot. ùùù ôIf you're not willing to fight for what you have in ≡v≡à you don't deserve it, and you will lose it.ö ù Karath Piki |

Originally by: Luminak Narz Well, Starcraft 2 is nothing like WoW, so if they ever did try to make a full fledged MMO out of it, it may not necessarily be a WoW clone. Blizzard is apparently working on another MMO, but from the sounds of it, it's not starcraft themed. It's apparently totally new IP.
Sure, but Warcraft isn't anything like WoW either, and yet they created WoW with Warcraft as a basis. So it wouldn't be particularly hard to imagine a WoS based on Starcraft that is essentially just WoW in space with a sci-fi theme (after all, Starcraft isn't much "in space" either)à
àeither way, they should just go back to doing rogue-likes, which is what they're really good at. ùùù ôIf you're not willing to fight for what you have in ≡v≡à you don't deserve it, and you will lose it.ö ù Karath Piki |
