I joined TNC a little more than a month ago. What really attracted me to them was that so many of their members have been with them for years, which I consider a sign of a good corp.
Over the past few weeks I am learning how lucky I am to be part of this truly great corp of people. Here are some of the things I love about TNC :
- always people on. - everyone wants to help, many of their members are a wealth of experience. - play the way you want to play, if you want to be an miner, or take an industrialist path, mission run or work in WH space, it's up to you. Its a large enough corp that there is something for everyone. - laid back : they truly are, and know that RL comes first. - being a new player, they really spend the time to hold my hand - mature : although I'm not sure what everyones age is, it's very obvious they are mature players, no drama or bs. At the same time there is a lot of fun to be had in comms and corp channel. - although I'm still not skilled enough for WH life, they have spent a lot of time guiding me on what I need so I can get there quicker!
I could go on, maybe I'll save it for future bumps, either way, I'm proud to be a part of TNC.

Originally by: Alagar Huma Hi. I'm looking for a wormhole corp and was wondering what tmz you guys are most active in.
Hi Alagar, we pretty much have people on all the time. But I would have to say some of the largest groupings of people usually end up being Evenings, nights and late nights GMT -5.
Being in the corp for a short time though, I realize why it's called the Night Crew, a lof of players play through the night, making it also good for players in other time zones.
What time zone are you in?

Originally by: Zahin Mezeas So, I have been around Eve for a while and I want to do something fun. For the past month and a half I haven't even left my station. I log in every few days for a couple minutes to update my skills and then log out.
I have about 7.5 million skill points. I can fly tech 2 industrial ships, A hulk, Amarr and Gallente battlecruisers. I tried missioning and found it dull and boring. I have been mining for months but doing that alone is mind numbing.
Can you guys offer me some fun and excitement? I am sure I could get back into the game if there was something that was a little more engaging.
I really think in many ways it's the people who make this game engaging, otherwise it would only solo mission running.
Sounds like you and I are pretty equal in a lot of ways. You probably have the basic skills to give life in the wormhole a shot. Message TNT 1 in game and talk to him a little. Even if you decide not to join up, or it doesn't work out for some reason, your welcome to message me in game if you need a partner in crime for something.
I think joining a good corp and learning new things could really change Eve for you. Write TNT 1 when you get a free moment.

As a new player, some of your posts have really helped me. You need to talk to TNT 1, hes the boss man, he can tell you all about our different operations and see if one fits what your looking for.
I can tell you that all our action happens in a C4 and a C5 Wormhole. As for people being on, its called the Night Crew for a reason. Its 2am on the East Coast of the Americas and there are several ops going on between PVE, PVP and Industry.
Look forward to talking with you more.

Originally by: Ste'ven Sch'orik I sent TNT 1 an eve mail for more info. So far I like what I'm seeing about your corp. I live in the eastern time zone of the US and was wondering if you have sufficient people on throughout the day to run sites or mine.
Hey Steven, thanks for your post - There are usually people on at all hours, but peak times for your time zone seem to be between 5pm to 2am on weekdays. On the weekends there is stuff going on all day.
To run sites you'll meet certain people who share a similar schedule and will end up being who you run stuff with. For mining you just go out to a grav site, put a fleet advert up and people will come and go all day - it's a little more free form.

Sassums, I'm excited to have you join too, I have accounts in empire and the WH , wherever you are, i would love to run some stuff with you.
Just yesterday myself and another corp member opened a grav site in an ajoining C4 system and we both said, too bad Sassums isn't here or he could start mining that ark deposit that's the size of a small moon! (Too much resources and not enough people to share it with!)

Originally by: iNFoRMaLiTY11 How strict you on that 5m sp limit? @4.8 myself.
If your still recruiting id be very interested about wh life. Can fly Amarr bc with t2 fit + mine in retriever in a week or so.
How active are you in EU TZ?, specifically GMT+2?
Well it depends on what you want to do. The SP minimum is really for you, not us. If we brought you out to the wormhole without the skills you would end up logging on and not being able to do much, where in empire you can mission run and train up. That being said, its possible to get you in if your main focus at the moment is mining / industry. If its PVP, 5 million might not cut it.
There is also a probationary period in our corp where we spend some time with you in Empire mission running, mining, etc, to get to know you and your goals. Since your Amarr, this would probably be me!
We will help work on fittings with you, as well as suggest ways to skill up to prepare yourself. Lets talk in game, send me and Eve mail or start up a conversation next time i'm on. Look forward to meeting you.

Originally by: El Flacito Sounds like a good corp and I've been looking around for corps for 2 of my alts Main alt is 26+mil SP, mostly in the combat side, but can fly a retriever as well. I'd like to worm those holes with this guy.
Other alt is 5.5mil SP who's coming up to speed in manu, can fly industrials and barges but is a wimp when it comes to combat. He's about 2 weeks away from being able to turn the lights on in an orca. I want to keep him on the mining / industrial side.
Do either of these guys sound like a good fit?
Sounds like a great fit. One thing I learned in wormhole space is you won't use an Orca as much as haulers, and transport ships. I would train up my T2 mining crystals and my abc ores first, it's a greater payback for you. Your also going to want to fit a ship for Gas Cloud Harvesting and get that skill to 5. All astronautics to 4 and Salvaging to at least 4. That's a start for the Indy side. Please message TNT 1 in game, write him an email he does about 2 interviews a day. He's a grizzled old war vet that knows his PVP as well as he knows his mining and he's the boss.
As for time zones, you sound like you will be on at peek time for us.
BTW: I'm mostly based in GMT, but will be in GMT-8 for a few weeks.

The Recruitment Channel -
Question: I've been in a few corps that have just fallen apart. How stable is your corp?
Answer: The Night Crew has been around for 6 years now. I't the reason I joined this corp, after being in several smaller corps that were always in flux. I wanted a home that I wasn't worried about logging in one day and discovering there wasn't a corp. The Night Crew isn't going anywhere.

The Recruitment Channel -
Question: What kind of skills am I going to need before i'm admitted into the wormhole?
Answer: Astrometics to IV is a must. Can't stress how important that is. If you get stuck in a system when a wormhole closes, without scanning equipment and skills, you will be stranded out there with little choice but to pod yourself.

The wealth of a corporation is based on its people that choose to be a part of it. Isk is but a digital currency, its nothing compared to the people you choose to spend your time with, the reason you log on each day. Besides, what is isk if you cant spend it with friends and blow **** up!
The Night Crew are looking for good people who want to work together in wormholes for a common goal.

The Recruitment Channel Questions -
Question: I've never been into a wormhole before, what kind of things will I be doing there?
Answer: Our wormholes have some of the same activities you might find in empire, except it's very team oriented. You need to work together with others to accomplish your goals. You could run sleeper sites, go on roams to protect our system. Open up mining sites, gas sites, or do PI. Everything in the wormhole is usually big better, and with greater reward. It is the next frontier in Eve.

Infi, sorry I missed you in the rec channel, been traveling the last few days. To answer your questions . .
1. The corp does not have it's own forums. But I was going to make a site for a corp wiki giving links and info for new players, also a place to handle different tomes of knowledge we have for the corp.
When you do join now however, you will be sent several emails of information, as well we have a corp bulletin with useful links, and info.
2. Give your limited API with your application and TNT 1 will review and schedule an interview.

To live in wormholes is truly a unique experience. Every day I log on, I never know what it will bring. It may be a hole has opened up to empire/low sec and we need to escort and be the eyes for our industrialists hauling goods to empire. Somedays we find PVP in a few wormholes over, or it maybe it finds us. Nights we run sleeper sites for large sums of isk. Others are building ships, mining, or even making drugs. There only thing I expect from living in a wormhole is the unexpected.
The main thing that is consistent is, its a group of people working closely together for a common goal, whatever goal the day brings.

Our biggest rule of the Night Crew is to always be on Comms. When applying to join, keep this in mind. In the wormhole intel is key. You are flying blind without intel. The best way to communicate this is through COMs.
Another importance of COMs is to get to know the other pilots you will be flying with. Trusting and knowing your fellow pilots is key.
Even if your mission running in empire, COMs is required to prepare yourself for life in the wormhole.

What I Like The Night Crew
First and foremost, the people I get to work with.á The ability to work with others without grinding against the grain, or feeling like merely another cog in someone else's machine; when I log on I know I'm gonna have a good time, whether we're joking and passing the time, or putting our noses to the grindstone to get something done.á Everyone's ability to sway between the two is awesome; and it says something about a corp when everyone can come together for a common goal to push the corp further than we were before.
Aside from the people; the ability to do damn near anything EVE has to offer, and have well knowledged people to guide you along the way to make sure you're doing it properly.
Strength not just in numbers, but in unity and respect.á I've played since 2004, my time with TNC has been the best I've had by far.

What I Like The Night Crew
I dig that pretty much everyone in the corp is down to do whatever happens to be going on at the time. Fleets, gas mining, rock shooting, scanning a route to empire, fueling the POS, listening to Hirant chew someone's ass... it's all more enjoyable when done as a team.

How do you win at Eve?
To each their idea of winning at Eve might be different. Some say you can never win at Eve. I think I have won at Eve.
Winning in Eve to me is being in a good corporation, enjoying the people you work with. Everyone lending a hand to make something greater and having a lot of fun while doing it. So if you apply to the Night Crew or not, your reading this forum, which means your looking for a home. I really hope you find a home that fits you as much as the Night Crew fits me.

Edited by: Zarutha on 02/05/2011 01:38:31 I get a lot of questions about what skills a potential member would need to get into the wormhole. Or what ships they need to fly.
All that crap is not important. We will teach you when you join what skills will be helpful, and help you with any ships you might need. The real question is, do you like the people you fly with? Is the Night Crew what your looking for in a home?
Were looking to extend our family, it starts with good people.

PS: Your a time zone with about 80% of our players currently. With 200 members and multiple wormholes there is always something going on!

We have a website, but its only for employees of the corporation. Its used as a wiki on skilling up for wormhole life, all members have access upon joining.
If you would like to apply, the best way is to apply to the corp in game, make sure to include your limited API key and TNT 1 will set up an interview with you.

Two questions, as I am interested by your corporation.
How ofter do you have pvp ops? and what kind of size? HD, roam, fleet or a little bit all these.
TZ, I live in Beijing, so I am -2 compared to AUS/NZ, I am connected everyday, mostly right after DT and for 4 hours.
I have a full familly that is looking for a new home.
Thanks in advance for your answers.
Thanks Zhao, it would be great if you set up a meeting with TNT 1. If you are interested in PVP, its something you need to let us know. Some of our wormholes see more PVP action than others. In one of our holes, PVP happens every day . In others, you might have to get a few members together and check out neighboring wormholes.

The Recruitment Channel Questions -
Question: What is the minimum skill points a player must have to join The Night Crew?
Answer: We are looking for at least 5 million+ skill point players. It takes about 8 to 10m before you have the required skills to get into the wormhole. Even if you only have a 3 million, your welcome to apply as long as you don't mind being in empire, running missions with other members. We just can't bring you into one of our wormhole operations until your decently skilled. Some of the things you will get out of our corp being a newer player is help on how to fit your ships, help from seasoned veterans, and grouping with other mission runners who live in empire.

Chris, Saw you speaking with Dar tonight, hope all your questions have been answered. The recruitment channel is only for directors. Tonight there were no directors signed into it, mainly due to a corp meeting.

What really excites me about all the new players were getting is now how busy empire is for our corp. We seem to have 5 - 20 people in empire at all times running missions, sites, mining, mostly near Jita. If your a new player and feel your not ready for wormhole life yet, but want to hang out with other players, check us out.

I keep hearing on podcasts and from players who join our recruitment channel that the perception of our corp is that its a very large corp. I'm not sure what constitutes a large corp. The Night Crew has about 200 members at the moment, does that make it large?
When I log on it really feels like a small tight knit community i'm spending time with. I've never seen our corporation as large. I think thats something I really like about TNC, its big enough that there is always something going on, but its not too big that you get lost in and feel like your not important.

Day two of the war dec, its an amazing thing to see most of our corp leave the wormholes and mobilize in empire. We podded their CEO passing CEO in almost no time. Were not the kind of corp that starts fights, but we defend ourselves.
Really love being in this corp.
Im sure in a week we will be back in our different wormholes, life as usual. If your looking for a corp, feel free to join our recruitment channel, we would be happy to answer you questions you may have about what life is like in W Space!

Here is a letter our CEO received last night from a corp we crossed paths with. I think this letter sums up our corp. (Please note, had to edit out any sensitive information.)
o7 From: V Sent: 2011.06.25 19:47 To: TNT 1,
Greetings,
I had the fortune/misfortune to run across your crew last night. They had a C4 that connected with my C4 and were using my static C3 to move supplies. Needless to say, I saw this as a hunting opportunity...however, I became the prey and lost two ships and a my alts pod. Unfortunate, but not a ragequitting loss. Still, your crew and especially Hirant impressed me very much. Not by killing my two ships (not that hard with the numbers they had) but by their procedures and actually having people watch the path. My hunts are usually successful because many WH pilots do not take the necessary steps to secure their paths in and out. This is something I do myself and I see so few corps doing it.
Chatting with Hirant, we struck a truce, which he honored though he clearly had the upper hand.
My reasons for speaking to you are numerous, but vengeance or sabotage are not among them. We can discuss them in more detail later should the need arise. But for now, I am wondering if you are still looking for WH pilots? I have a good crew of 6 or 7 experienced pilots who have been living in our WH for almost a year.
Everything I know and have read about you makes you an ideal candidate. Your numbers, procedures, philosophy, and stability are certainly desireable to us, and I think we can enhance your roster and WH operations.
Fly safe,
V

Living in the wormhole is so unpredictable. I think thats why it never gets tiring. Very rarely do i do the same thing two nights in a row. We might be running fleets, scanning our way to explore other systems, mining, building, PI, under attack, logistics, covert ops, you get the idea. You really never know what will happen each time you log on.
I've watched the Night Crew grow so much over the last year. Were filling out most time zones so there are people on around the clock. There seems to always be 3 - 6 fleets running that I can join. So many great new people have joined. Some very new to Eve, and others season vets just looking for a place they can call home.

When I talk to people looking to join our corp, some of the worries have been not wanting to join a corp that is too industry, or too pvp. That's something great I feel about the night crew. It really is a balanced corp.
If you want to focus on one thing, we'll support it, until you find what your looking for in the game to be happy.

What is honor? I feel it can be how a corporation conducts itself in lawless space.
There are situations where doing what is honorable may not be the easiest choice, but its the right thing to do.
Honor is subjective. I guess one of the things I respect most about our corp is there is a no extortion policy. We do not hold people hostage for ransoms. We will aggress if being aggressed, but we do not extort.
Its things like this that make me respect our corporation more and gives it meaning to be a member.

Nihil, less than a million is pretty low. Usually a player with less than a million still is not sure what they want to do in this game. Since your not a new player though, you should put in an application, along with your limited API, TNT 1 will request an interview with you to see what your goals are and where you want to be in Eve. Make sure to let him know a little about yourself when submitting the application.

The Recruitment Channel -
Question: How important is PVP?
Answer: More and more people every day make the decision to venture into wormhole space, so much so, that its more likely your neighboring system will be occupied than not. The higher the class of wormhole, the less there are, making it also possible to see the same occupants more often. Fitting up some basic PVP ships is a smart thing, especially when there are hostiles in the system. This is something we can help with, using our corp fits, and giving you advice on what to fly. It doesn't take a lot to have basic PVP skills, and its very different than PVE.

There are currently 2500 wormhole systems in Eve and most are apparently populated. When I first started with the Night Crew I remember being seeing people maybe once a week, if that. It was a lot of solitude and running sites. Now every system has someone in it means more than ever it's important to have combat skills in addition to other wormhole needed skills.
When you join TNC we will work with you on what skills you need to enter a wormhole system whether is be combat, scanning, pve or industry.

If you have submitted an application, that sounds good too, you will be contacted by TNT 1 the boss man, make sure to include your API.
Its very very rare we have ever taken anyone with less than 5 million sps.
