I know this will be hard to accomplish... but can someone give a short synopsis of what actually happened with PL that has caused all the forum posts recently?
There are certain topics that we are not suppose to talk about... One three letter word starts with a "B" and end with a "N"... so don't go there.
I don't read COAD each day and others probably don't as well and would not know what has happened. So if someone might give a quick summary of what lead up to the restricted word it would be appreciated.

Basically they got a bit emo jealous of the fact that TEST did a huge threadnought and were pretty desperate for attention. Not much more to it than that.

We get enough attention from GM's and their alts, so I'm going to pass some of that to you Windy since you crave it so much.
You have the alt bit covered, put in your GM app. ---

After invading the NPC stations in venal several PL members expressed their shock and outrage at the low quality missions available at the stations there. Naturally CCP had to respond by banning them from the forums.
Thats it in a nutshell. Good day sir!

Our key logistics guy was banned, initially he was told it was for "selling ISK RMT", this changed to he "had hacked someones account and sent 20billion to himself in small increments", he asked them to check IPs of his and the victims account as he knew nothing of it so it became he was "banned for buying ISK". He then made the mistake of asking for it to be elevated for a senior GMs opinion. 5 weeks later he still hasn't heard from this guy, so he petitioned again to be transfered to a GM who isn't dead and got a reply in under 5 minutes saying that it would not be transfered. Some people in PL felt that waiting over a month to discover your fate was a little too much so started posting threads, it can't do any damage as he's permanently banned and the GM simply ignores the petition so nothing is lost. If he's guilty of something then you would have thought that a simple explanation of what hes done wouldn't take long to type up.
tl;dr: you can get anyone banned by hacking a random persons account and sending the ISK to someone you don't like. CCP will then ban that person even if they don't know why they're banning him as the concept of framing someone hasn't occurred to them.

Truth is, he *could* be as guilty as sin. We can't read other peoples petitions afterall so can only go on what he reports back to us. Personally my gut inclination is to believe him as the sum is a drop in the ocean to him. As PLs key logistics guy he had pretty much direct access to the main wallet, if he wanted ISK he would have simply skimmed it which is easily done when the logistics guy. I don't think you can actually make this sh** up either, CCP changing their reason rings strangely true. I really can't see him saying the petitions being ignored if he'd actually had a reply either. I think it would be much better if petitions were public once closed as they are often used for propaganda and so on which doesn't actually do CCP any favours. eg, claiming a titan was reimbursed because of devbuddies etc... there's no way to be sure and CCP unfortunately do have a history of rogue devs, which at least makes such an outlandish claim potentially true.
The other guy banned was Karttoon, I don't know much about this one other than he shot a bunch of CSAAs by offlining the tower first. CCP seem to be under the impression he shot them while the POS was still online for some unfathomable reason. Don't take that as gospel though as I wasn't really paying attention to that one so could easily be wrong about the details.

Originally by: Kalle Demos So where does the other banned guy come into this?
karttoon was banned for killing CSAAs in Delve, supposedly by using spies to offline/online towers. This is clearly beyond the realm of possibility and the only explanation has to be that he somehow exploited and shot them through the shields. More gloating/wild accusations can be found here. http://www.eve-search.com/thread/1374005/page/1#1
Although no such exploit has been found and the other scenario is in fact far more likely, the logs show nothing and thus karttoon finds it difficult to log in these days. As with slackjawed, response time and/or relevance to petitions filed regarding the matter has left us less than satisfied.
Seeing as PL is the greatest, most evil band of cheaters to ever grace the eve server, erring on the side of caution apparently means ban on sight. This is the price we pay for being awesome, it is not, however, an acceptable policy in the long run. By drawing attention to this obvious GM abuse from the use of so called "thread-naughts" we hope to get the rest of us banned in speedy fashion so everyone can go back to not caring again.

Its worth adding of course for newer players that PL is the alliance ********** belonged to. ********** is still a name you are not allowed to say on the forums because he exposed dev collusion with players of BoB Alliance (now IT) to gain advantages over the other players. The devs responsible weren't sacked, the players involved with the cheating weren't banned though the guy who exposed it all, **********, was. As you can see by the forum filter, CCP would rather not talk about that.

The thing is if there was any hard evidence to support the actions then I'm pretty sure that the cases would be closed and the outcomes known to the parties involved. The fact that people are still waiting for to hear does poin to there being no evidence.
I think for the benefit of all involved (including CCP) this should be dealt with as a matter of urgency.

I really doubt anyone in IT had anything "to do with this" and it's not like we are in any way at odds with IT. In fact, we have a very solid relationship with them and respect and love each other as worthy adversaries in this great game of internet space honour.
It's most likely just some GMs believing the hype about our alliance and just ignoring any sort of rational explanation or discourse and hoping it blows over. You know, because that corporate policy has worked out so great for them in the past.

Confirming that Slackjaw and myself deal in 10's of billions of Alliance isk for all our Deployments to buy everything from pos/fuel/logies/dics/hics/capitals/mods you name it.
If he was after ISK he would be much better off to steal alliance assets which he very easily had access to. Heck if he wanted 20b he could have just asked for it.
I think it has something to do with a Station Scam for 5b in which he was a middleman tho im not real clear on the details.
Still makes me take a step back and wonder if this is worth it if CCP can ban and fail to respond in a reasonable amount of time.
The PL is dissolving was just a Troll. Nothing better then ISD reporting misinformation as they usually do it on their own so might as well help out.

Now you've publicly revealed what you do, you should log on every single alt everyday and check the journal to see if someone is drip feeding you small increments of ISK in preperation for your impending removal from the game.
