For anyone who uses PLEX to pay for eve, I know that with enough skills and assets setup you can make enough isk to pay for the subscription in PLEX but what do you really do? Mine? Level 4 missions? What do you do to make about 200-300 mil a month for 30 days eve time? |

200-300M is about what I make in a day or two, if I am doing what I am doing seriously. ___________

I make 150-200m a week inventing, building and selling t2 ammo. Takes about 20 mins out of my day.

Edited by: De''Veldrin on 12/11/2010 17:42:04 While there are those that will laugh hysterically when I say this, I make between two and three billion a month on PI. Takes about 2 hours a day (if I'm serious about it), and I spend the rest of my time doing crap with my alliance - usually clearing wormhole sites.

On the chance that you are looking for advice - you can easily make that amount of money running level 4 missions, especially if you bank your LPs and spend them on the right things (which vary depending on which LP stores you have access to). The trick to making money with missions quickly is to either forget salvaging, or be able to salvage as you mission (either with an alt, or with something like a marauder).
If you have to salvage after the mission, you're banking on the salvage being worth more than the mission rewards + LPs + bounties of the mission you could have been running while you were salvaging and that's not normally the case. --Vel

This really.
Right now I have 2 characters that make enough PI for 2 large towers and enough extra to almost cover a PLEX. In a few days, I'll have 2 more characters doing it as well.
Takes me less than 15 minutes per day now, so it will be around 30 mins a day for fuel for 2 towers and around 900 mil or so profit per month.
edit: That comes out to around 60 mil per hour of actual gametime spent on PI per month, so it's comparable to L4 missions. Plus you have the added benefit of not having to undock except maybe once a week to move products between planets or to a hub to sell.

I'm willing to give myself away as a slave for all eternity in exchange for the details on how to do that. I tried PI as well but I don't reach those highs by far.
So please, please, can I get details either here or by EVE mail?

I wonder what people in this thread mean by "if I'm serious about it". Seen it at least twice. Does it mean...
"if I spend another 5 hours a day with Excel sheets?"
of simply
"if I'm lucky"
?
Also, isn't anything related to internet spaceships serious business by default?

He means 'he sits there and focuses solely on the process of configuring his extractors to be in optimal positions and check all reactions / refinery work is setup to run'.
I gave up on PI mostly because it wasn't "fun" to do. Not because profits were too low.

i really prefer doing WH, was doing something like 120 to 170 mil an hour, if you are lucky with the salvage that is, but anywhere form 60 to 100 mil should be a good number for a decent WH run.

Pretty much this. I can restart all of my extractors in about 30-40 minutes (30 planets). It's takes longer to reset all the factories, especially if you're changing your production lines (6 factory planets).
All of that assumes I don't get distracted by alliance chat or something else. --Vel

TRADE. I can probably pay one EVE account for about 70 years at current PLEX prices if I liquidate all current assets. _

I don't know what he does, but me, I TRADE. I can probably pay one EVE account for about 70 years at current PLEX prices if I liquidate all current assets and cash in all debts owed to me. Oh, and it took me about 30 hours of "brain work" and maybe 2-3 hours of actual in-game work, then a nearly half-a-year wait to get there from next to nothing in comparison.
:) Love your attitude.
To the OP: It's not hard to cover PLEX price doing basically anything that yield ISK in EVE. If you do it for ISK, not for wasting your time. -- Thanks CCP for cu |

Trading is the most lucrative, I think it is because a lot of people do it poorly.
CCP do not care how many people pay their accounts via PLEX, they get their pound of flesh either way. There will always be a significantly higher number of people who will just want to liquidate PLEX and just pew pew rather than have to generate isk to fund their addiction.
It just comes down to how tight are you irl and what you could do with the isk rather than spend it on the account. I think just grinding money to pay for accounts is probably not an appealing way to play a game, but each to their own.

900 million a month from planetary interaction is actually pretty low. That's like using the 90 hour cycle and still being lazy about transport. That, or you're not running on max planets.
Can easily pull a low of 30 million from a single level 4 mission when you finish looting and salvaging. That might put you at 45 minutes if you're a tad slow. Do one of those a day and you're at 900 million a month.
Trading is indeed the best way to go. The more people who get into it, the better, at least for people actually good at it. (:

I gave up on PI because competing with bots/noobs (who are going to be satisfied with a much lower profit) doesn't appeal AND not fun AND profits too low.
If CCP made PI unbottable, might be worth doing.

If you could send me an EVEmail about tips for PI as well I would greatly appreciate it. I've put a decent ammount of SP into that and its kind of crippling to me as a new player because I can't seem to get it to be very profitable.
