I would like to ask, nay, beg CCP to do a serious rethink on the model intended for the Revenant. Not only does it not look like a Sansha ship, but it's downright ugly and looks like...well, I think we all know what it looks like.
I realize that a fair amount of work goes into creating a model, especially one as large as a supercarrier, but please, this ship is supposed to be something epic, make it look like it!
The Sansha ships, in particular the Nightmare, have always had a fearsome, powerful look to them (well, until the color schemes got ruined...brown? Really?) so the Revenant should be the same way. Make this thing a big, scary son of a b****!
When people see a Revenant, the effect should be "oh sh**!!!" not "haha, it's Mr. Hanky in Space!"

You know, people have this thing called taste, and I don't think stuff should be made solely according to yours.

I agree 100% with that statement. However, I know that I am not the only one with this opinion, not by a long shot, otherwise I'd have never made this post.

If you haven't been living under a rock the past few days then you'd notice that 9/10 forum posts about it don't like it so what you said is kind of meaningless.

1. Argumentum ad populum
2. It is not unheard of in this community for people to jump onto an idea as long as it has some witty memetic phrases to go along with it, regardless of whether the idea is practical, reasonable, or useful in any way.
3. 78% of statistics are made up on the spot because people desperately feel the need to be on the "right" side of things even when they are entirely subjective opinions to begin with.

Can you explain to me what my being a smart-ass or not has to do with the validity of two different people having different opinions?
No?
Nobody likes an internet ****wad who makes abusive comments devoid of any point or response other than to sound like a hardass, either.

What goings are good here that would entice me to stop?
What does your response to me have at all to do with the actual topic of the conversation?
If I don't stop, are you planning on doing something about it?

Posting my support for the poop ship. I think it's awesome.
Also posting in support that people make up statistics on the spot to support their point, and that people can have different opinions, it doesn't mean they will cave and redo the ship just because you don't like it.
Besides, it's not a bad model, it's very well done, has a great normal map (high rez sculpt) and is, in general, a very pretty space poop.
even if it's poop, it's very well made poop, so leave it be, there are things much more wroth whining about.

So why are you making such comments then? If you actually read what the guy quoted and answered, his response was a proper one. The accusations was that CCP shouldn't cater "solely" to the OPs personal taste. It is proper to show at that point, that he actually has support of others for his plea.
You also seem to be confused about the significance of popularity when it comes to requests from players. Most importantly this is a entertainment product. Popularity of a proposal carries weight here. Secondly argumentum ad populum is a logical fallacy. This is a discussion about taste. No one can prove anything here. It is all about trying to make a convincing case for the chance, so catering to popularity carries weight here. Yes people jump to bandwagons, but at the same time the "I like how the revenant looks" bandwagon seems to be low on passengers for some mysterious reason. So while numbers aren't the sole decider, they do matter.

What was the point of your abusive comments then? You points about logic don't really apply to anything said here. The OP just pleaded for a ship design, that would be fearsome and powerful instead of reminding people of a turd. The guy you initially quoted just pointed out the OP isn't alone with his desire, so changing the design wouldn't just solely be catering to his taste. Both valid comments in the context, no matter what you think about the actual design of the ship.

Smartass detected.
Also what I said about 9/10 forum posts about it hate it is actually true, it's not a "statistic"

I fail to see why the new Sansha Supercarrier is being singled out as a problem. There are many other ships in the game which can have unflattering comparisons made. Only a few people seem to recognize that when it comes to aesthetics, ultimately it is a question of opinion. Many of the vocal voices in the EVE community also showed this same lack of understanding when it came to complaining about looks in the recent art contest.

I don't think there is anything wrong with the new Sansha SC either, but don't let that stop the "forum ragers'" rampage.
If you were to take a poll on who liked/disliked which ships in the game, I'm sure most ships would have a less than 50% approval rating.
Who cares! It's a game.

How about actually make its bonuses/abilities epic instead of being in line with other supercaps but with an extra racial carrier skill and a probable premium cost to buy.

9/10 posts made on the forums are complaints. People don't feel the need to ever praise or congratulate ccp on things they like so you can't really say 9/10 people don't like it.
