I recently tried dual boxing with a CNR and a tengu on a few level 4 missions.
I was suprised and how insanely fast it went, with the tengu killing the smaller stuff and picking up mission items, and the CNR spamming missiles like a turrent.
Is this better than dual boxing two Golems possibly? Or would two Golems (minus the carpal tunnel) still be better?

Dualboxing is quite effective with two Golems. Although I personally tend to prefer a turret ship + ravenkind combo for dualboxing missions. Missiles have travel time but turret ship can pop small crap at range insta.
For example Nightmare + Golem is rather effective combination for missions with laser weakness.

You would earn more by flying those ships in separate missions. Don't just take my word for it, keep a journal and do the math. Mach/Vargur depending on mission on one account, same setup on second, separate missions. That or Golem/Tengu, should be on par.

Im actually considering dual-boxing missions with a Nighmare/Scimitar (tracking links/rsebo) combo for a bit more efficient killing, no real need for an extra DPS-ship. My alt is training up for logistics anyway so taking him along without too much extra clinking sounds nice to me.

I'd say two Drakes doing over 600 EM DPS PER SECOND ON A SUPER SECRET COMBAT PATROL would do it ---

cnr + tengu sounds like a complete pain in the ass. (well more like any ship + tengu) the crazy fast rof of the tengu is just annoying to me (maybe that was just cuz I was using 2x tengus?)
but I do really like the nightmare + golem combo, works pretty damn well with any raven hull + turret boat

I have to agree with you. I am using 2 tengus, running separate missions and it seems better isk/hour than using them together. Best isk/hour would be most likely 2 golems running separate missions, but I don't think it is manageable. 2 tengus are very easy (best tank, no drones, just targeting and shooting). But managing drones/tractor beams/salvagers for 2 golems would be pain.

Edited by: Tore Smith on 18/11/2010 08:27:11 i liked the rattler and nightmare/mach combo doing different missions. rattler semi-afk. and dps ship full on. two good dps ships is real hard work.
hard missions are a different story. running the assault with two high dps ships negates the need to watch the triggers and still allows to gank fit both ships. i believe in those cases you make more money dualing the same mission.
edit: while dualing the same mission i would always use turret ships. no need to count volleys with far away ships and no target painting.

I've been flying a Raven and an autocannon Maelstrom and it's worked great. The Maelstrom kills the small ships and eats anything that gets close, while the Raven takes care of the distant spawns. I hope to upgrade to a Golem/Vargur duo soon.

I've recently had good results dual-boxing a Raven and a Dominix. Just setting the sentry drones to assist the Raven, switching to light drones if there are any frigates left after everything else is dead. The Domi requires minimal attention since I can just turn the armor repper on and ignore it.
