This thought popped up when I saw the "What is your goal" thread in General Discussion. I was trying to think of an answer, when it hit me... I've achieved everything I wanted in Eve.
I am out of stuff to do.
I have 110 million SP. I can fly all super-capitals if I wanted to... but I don't, because they're boring to fly, and alliance warfare is lower than mining veldspar on the excitement scale. I have effectively infinite ISK, and can get any ship I want... but what's on offer?
There's a guy in my corp with 140 million SP. He is equally lost. We feel like we've done everything. Like there's nothing unique for us.
Now, recently, the Eve community got t3 ships - easier to train for than t2 was, certainly. I can fly all of them already.
So... what can't I fly, that I would want to?
There isn't anything. Yet.
What I'd like to propose, is a ship class limited to us veterans. The newbies have a buttload of content, it's time the old-timers got a little lovin'.
I propose a totally overpowered ship class with a 100m SP requirement to even board. Something we demigods can use to roam the stars and brutalize the puny weaklings beneath us. Something that costs bilions, and actually performs according to its value. Something uninsurable, so losing one really hurts.
Overpowered, you say? Luckily, there aren't that many 100m SP pilots around!
Anyway, point I'm trying to make is, 100m SP = about 5 years of dedication to Eve. We should get something for it.

You missed one: give 25% of your assets and liquid wealth to a character named 'Alyth'. You get a certificate or some such. Oh and your ships will write to you and send you pictures every so often.

So basically:
Waaa Waaa, I've already got everything all the newer players dream of but I want more!!!!
The answer:
No go away you spoilt child......
A new ship wouldn't help you anyway, sounds like you need something challenging to do. Have you tried setting up your own corp/alliance and trying to take your own 0.0 without a huge nap train or something similar? -The sword is only as sharp as the one who wields it. Is there a reason behind your argument, or are you just trying to sound tough? Yes... I want more. I didn't know wanting something was a crime, or an indication of being spoiled, but there you go.
Originally by: Rhinanna A new ship wouldn't help you anyway, sounds like you need something challenging to do. Have you tried setting up your own corp/alliance and trying to take your own 0.0 without a huge nap train or something similar?
But... I totally don't want to do that.
0.0 is just the next stepping stone for newbie empire corporations moving out of highsec. It's a place to make more money than highsec. It's a place to join an alliance, and meet great new friends. It's a place where you get to fly capital ships.
I have no need for 0.0. Earning money? I have enough money to play Eve free until the heat death of the universe. Capships? I don't enjoy flying capships, finding them to be boring and sluggish - supercaps, twice so. I'm not interested in alliances at all. What's the point of trying to kill alliances, when they blow themselves up so quickly and effectively? What's the point of corp theft, when money is made back so quickly as to be entirely expendable?
Like I said... nothing left goalwise that interests me. I have been a mercenary. I have flown stolen wyverns. I have seen an Imperial Armageddon hijacked by one of my corpmates. I have engineered a war between alliances. I flew a Jovian Eidolon, an Imperial Apoc, a Silver Magnate. All I want next, is something new. Something unique.

Does anyone have any input besides "wah wah you're spoiled" or "you should quit Eve now"?

How about a ship designer tool for the mega rich. Some ridiculous price on it like 100billion that allows you to create a one off ship; the catch though is that it is not a super powerful ship, it is JUST a normal ship that you can create the colour scheme for and a name. So like a pink hurricane called Lu Lu :)
Just an idea but at least it would give you something to spend your money on?
Or how carebear some newbies up, help them out with cash and ships, build them into your own private army and take on CONCORD :) Or on that note try to take down a CONCORD ship!

Take a character, move all your current money away from him or keep it on a secondary wallet. Then create a new specialized corp to do something no other corp in EVE does that you think can bring in money. Then see how quickly you can get it profitable (starting it off with a one time investment that has to go back to the main wallet eventually).
There must be many services one could offer in EVE that no one else has. One I've been thinking about is a postal service between the main market hubs for example. This will require a great deal of out of game stuff as well; homepage, recruiting, planning, advertisement and maybe some programming. A crapload of new stuff to do and learn in other words.

Rofl, after five years you're still looking to kill hapless noobs? This is so pathetic that I assume the troll here.
If you're serious about your post, I suggest you to get a new girl friend/dog/cat or try another game for a change.
In the meantime the CCP devs can create new content for you to rush through, and with 100 Mill SP and loads of ISK you'll have the pool position, what more do you want?

So, as a result of requesting a new ship, I am: spoiled, a crybaby, a troll, pathetic, in need of a new girlfriend, a new dog, a new game. Anyone else got some insults they want to get off their chests?
Any other geniuses waiting in the wings to advise me on positive life changes? Maybe I should start doing Yoga? Collecting stamps? Or can we actually get to discussing veteran rewards now?
Because I still haven't seen a reason why adding a powerful ship, restricted only to the few long-term players left, would be a *bad* thing.

What if they'd tie it up to Jovian ships?
Jovian Frigates would need ALL race's frigate ships at lvl 5. Jovian Electrofizzlewhatever guns need ALL race's short/long range specialization to lvl 5
In return, a single fitted Jovian Frigate should be able to take 2 or 3 normal frigates... ---

How about this one - Attempt something that will stretch u abilities.
Example Make BoB come back in its original state. Or how about - Taking on 20 battleships in your Ibis and win. (tho that one has already been accomplished by DJ LMP). Take on a whole alliance single handed and woop their ass.
U do say u are a demigod, then these should be minor tasks. When done with either you just continue with the next one. "magnibit lenibit ulteribit" |

... is exactly the sort of thing I was thinking of. Absolutely ridiculous skill requirements! A ship so difficult to train for, that maybe 50 people in all of Eve can hope to fly it within a month of its release. Something truly and directly dedicated to veterans - to the exclusion of everyone else.
As a positive side effect, having a ship like this implemented would cause a bunch of long-retired veterans to give Eve another try.

So my thought would be 2 pronged.
We could get the 100mil sp-> new mothership which is part ship part outpost-> if not mobile POS. Having the ability to have highend char who can become a POS at a gate for example would be hugely fun dynamically for pvp. Also for those in highsec it could be the carebear supercap.
The other idea is BIOSHIPS. These are ships you literally farm like cattle but in space. So for manufacturers it's fun farmville. On the otherside Bioships once they "hatch" need a pilot but once we take up our bioship. We cant dock and we cant eject. When they hatch they might be real crappy ships. However we grow our ship via the pilot's choices and skills. So highly trained chars will make their bioship better then those with less skills. However skills themselves dont apply to the ships. Furthermore, the ships could grow overtime. So today I have 5000 armor on my ship. Tomorrow if it was growing for armor it might have 5010 armor.
So it levels the playing field somewhat for newbs but an old bioship could potentially be better then all the ships ingame and be quite fun for pvp. ------------------------ To make a megathron from scratch, you must first invent the eve universe.

You can already fly Supercaps, and their insane skill barrier.
So when you've gained that few skills and you got yourself such a ship (demigod class) - say price of 2 titans. Then what ? You have infinite isk, so 2 titans will be pocket change and skills - minor obstacle - not even worth mentioning.
You are looking in the wrong direction to find new goals. "magnibit lenibit ulteribit" |

Maybe some Jovian transformation would be nice: Drop 100mil SP and recreat yourself as a Jovian with access and skills to fly those lovely jove ships. I would certainly consider that although i can imagine how many ppl would try to gank/hunt me down for the killmail.

Then I take it out, gank a few people, generate a few hatemails, get ambushed and swarmed by 50+, and give up an ultra-epeen-enhancing killmail. Such is the natural order of things in Eve.
Originally by: Jonaaz Dsz You are looking in the wrong direction to find new goals.
I want a goal with respect to skill training. I have none, that's the point of this thread. The big skillpoint sinks are capships, and they don't entertain me AT ALL, thus I am proposing something that WOULD be fun for me, and others in my position.

The storyline, the fictional background, the RP, the griefing potential... all the good stuff still remains. Those are parts of Eve I still very much enjoy.
It isn't that I'm bored of Eve. I love this game like no other. That's why, when I identify a possible avenue for improvement, I prefer to improve what I love, rather than quit and find something else.

Hehh very nice link, only you can find your path.. Nobody can tell you what to do now, a new ship wont help tho... The problem is your just another ship in the game to 99.9% of people you still a nobody (no insult intended).. I think you just want to be recognised for your age and wealth or the things you have achieved, at the end of the day just another ship only few people achieve fame, Chribba or Entity hah and Bad Bobby..

Start over.
Close that account (though obviously don't biomass it or dump your stuff) and start a totally separate account with no input or help from the old one - that means no cash, no ships, no shiny implants.
Reset to level 0, and start over. See where you end up in another X number of years. New players these days have more (though not necessarily better) options than older players from your era - give being a noob a try again. --Vel

Jovian Frigate
- Can only fit Officer or Jovian modules - Can only be flown by 100+ mil SP characters - Is not compatible with pod technology. If the ship blows up you die, and you lose a percentage of your skillpoints - You will be unable to train while flying this ship
The good stuff: Shields like Caldari Armor like Amarr Hull like Gallente Speed like Minmatar
Skill reqs: Jove Frigates lvl 3 (rank 20 skill) Prereqs: Amarr,Caldari,Minmatar,Gallente frigate 5
Electro guns: Can only be fit to Jove ships. Similar to Hybrids in design, will use both energy and ammo. Will not have falloff. If the target is in range it will always hit for full damage.
Skill reqs: Jove Light ElectroGuns (ShortRange) Prereqs: Small Autocannon Spec, Small Blaster Spec, Small Rocket Spec, Small Pulse Spec lvl 5 Longrange Prereqs: Small Artillery Spec, Small Railgun Spec, Small Missile Spec, Small Beam Spec lvl 5
Obliterator Cannon: Can only be fit to Jove ships. Can only be used on pods. Will destroy the pod. The pod will not leave a corpse. Target pilot loses all skillpoints since he left the last station with a cloning bay.
Prereqs: Obliterator Usage lvl 1 (rank 20) - Obliterator Theory lvl 5 (rank 16) - Outpost Construction lvl 5 (rank 20)
l33t enough for you? ---

Edited by: Adunh Slavy on 17/11/2010 17:45:45 I think you should be allowed to fly a station. It can only make one jump a day and the range be very limited.
Your station can be conquered, and you are then forced to join the new controling alliance, and you can not leave the alliance, you've no control over any docking rights and such things, but you do collect all fees at the station/ship and the fees are fixed and can not be changed. You always show up on the overview and you can enter high sec too.
You can go into worm holes, but it requirers a special fuel that can only be harvested in noob ships.

That is what makes you a spoilt child. You aren't asking for something new to do, you are asking for something to make your game easier.
You already have a huge advantage in SP, even asking for more advantages is just lame. If you are really so determined that you need an advancement of your character then bio-mass this character and start again.
