Seriously though.
This corp I am in now is just.... well it is frankly terrible. I'm not all that experienced in this game but I've been studying and paying attention to what I was taught, and deciding what I wanted to do.
I tailored some skills towards pvp and thought that maybe high sec wars might be a decent place to get my feet wet, so I signed up with these "mercs". They're just fail. We don't even pvp, in fact we log off when WT's are online, and go to test server to "pvp where it isn't lame".
So long story short, I thought I would check out some other small merc corps to see what is up. I picked Lonetrek Salvage kind of at random off the c and p forums. Contacted this Victoria Ehr chick/manchick, did the whole api recruiting thing and etc.
Then there was a 50m recruiting fee. I thought about it for awhile, I figured there was a decent chance it was a scam, but these guys are supposedly mercs, and what the heck, 50 mil is chump change anyway, so I forked over the entry fee.
Of course, fee was scam. After a triumphant mail about being owned, I got blocked by Victoria. I'm just a bit amazed though. Since when is 50m a scam to be impressed by. I accidentally made more than that once when my drones blew up a rat while I was afk.
Good on ya Victoria. In the mean time, if anyone is looking for a reasonably knowledgeable and enthusiastic noob, I'm right here.

I question your judgment about choosing a star wars name and replacing the L with an I
I dont think you should play eve anymore because you were only good as a potential scam mark but someone already got to you

Thanks for the input.
I believe I already covered the fact that I was pretty certain it was a scam but felt the risk was minimal.
I got a Low Grade Slave implant off a rat while afk'ing in a belt. I'm pretty certain I'm not the only person in Eve to ever get that.
I'm not certain about your questioning my judgment about taking a Star Wars name. It is widely recognized as a top ten movie for millions, if not billions of people, so I would guess that you are in the minority there. You probably even have the widescreen dvd collection on your shelf somewhere.
As for not being useful, I was looking for a corp in order to become a useful player. I maintain confidence that I will eventually find one and prove myself.
A last comment. I wasn't looking for friends. I was just looking for some fleet mates for pvp.

This is my first MMORPG since Star Wars Galaxies went WOW clone a few years ago. My last experience with forums was there, and they are...... markedly different from here, lets say.
I have not yet gotten into the habit of strange off topic posts, insults, logical fallacies as argument pillars, and puerile comments like "u mad".
I'm also an attorney, and I like debating. They don't let you scream at people very often where I work.

I found someone "elite Minmatar Frigate wreck" at a gate last night and salvaged it and got 30M in salvage loot.
50M is not a scam.

Know your audience. You'll get the hang of it once you know the posters on the Eve forums a bit more.

i thank you luke for your post. you now show your stupidity to eve, trusting me. thanks. also 50mil is no heist, but when people daily convo me asking to join and i do the whole api crap and then ask for an acceptance fee it adds up. so my 500mil a week passive income isnt so horrible.
so to save all the people time trying to "trash-talk" im gay, i am a complete ***got. and i love little boys. yes i and my corp do fail, and we are ****. i think ive covered majority of what needs to be said. thanks for the grief luke.

To watch these guys grow from noobs flying merlins and moa's flipping worthless retrievers to taking down multi billion isk mission fits, brings a tear to my eye. Even the nonpropper battlefleet could not vanquish these noobs who got kicked for being "gay russian ******s"
Corps come and go, just as alliances do, but its a real honor to know Lonetrek is causing havoc long after Non prop seems to have gone to sleep. Once upon a time, it was PRONZ terrorizing caldari hi-sec... then it was non propero. Now it is Lone-trek Salvage and Scrap.

You guys are very good at what you do. However much I don't respect your play style, you accomplish the goals that you set for yourselves, and thats all that is really important. If nothing else, having you around keeps people in check and forces our pilots to fly better and not get lazy. You can be as immature and say whatever you want. I play a game about shooting other people's internet pixels, and any fight is a good fight. Losses happen all the time, and all someone can do is hope that pilot's learn from them (or get kicked out if they are stupid and refuse to learn). So having a negative campaign against someone who is as hard to kill as you really doesn't bother me that much. It is just another way to improve ourselves and entertain us sometimes. We leave the campaign up because we have nothing to hide from people.
Failure is always an option :)

ya.. i guess we are pretty pro.. but either way, you would not keep dec if the efficiency was different.. that is just the case. maybe not you in general is keeping dec but your alliance is.

If you are interested in just PvP, why not try Red vs Blue or FW for a while? You can also join E-Uni if you really are a noob and want to get some good instruction/training. OFC there are also several good lowsec corporations out there, the Tuskers come to mind. I don't know anything at all about Nullsec.

My corp got recently wardecced by the Lonetrek Salvage and Scrap. They attempted to get spies on the inside of the corp but got horribly scammed out of quite a bit of isk for fake info. But the war is starting up and we really can't do anything. What the f*** are we supposed to do about these guys?
