I ofter hear that term thrown about in regards to this issue. What exactly does it mean. Does it primarily mean probing out drone complexs or whatever, scanning plex's or going to the mission becon which appears on the overview when someone is doing a mission?

Edited by: Conrad Makbure on 22/11/2010 01:47:14 It means that someone will scan you down, with combat probes for example, and warp to your location and start salvaging your wrecks that you killed. Salvage from wrecks are not "yours" per se, only the loot and if they stay away from the loot they won't get flagged for agression.
It happened to me and I was in a battleship at the time, he was in a destroyer and it took me like 20 seconds to lock for some reason. He turned around in less time, warped out and came back with a minmitar battleship. Bastard prob had like 20Mill skill points. I've got 3.1 mill, who do you think would have won that fight? I just left.

You can't probe down mission deadspaces or wrecks, but you can probe for ships. Typically what you do is go to a popular L4 mission hub like Dodixie and probe for battleships, then warp to them and salvage the wrecks. (You can also loot the wrecks, but that gives the mission runner the right to shoot you, so only do so if you've got the skills to evade them.)
I'm not energetic enough to google it for you, but there are numerous tutorials (text as well as video) for how to use probes. Also check to see if the chat channel THE NINJA ALLIANCE is still active in-game.
